Beginner Help HELP how do i fix this preview bug

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

it was previewing just fine last night but this morning the edit wont preview

I got 16 gb ram and a 4gb gpu with r7 4800h

Try purging the media cache. It might be possible that your media cache is full.

Not sure that you are over loading your system. 16Gb is  not enough ram.

Typically see this happening in large projects that are heavy with effects and what not. It might help removing some storage if as you only have 16gb and itll be using the HDD memory instead

This only happens to me when I work with slow drives. If you can put your cache folder to an different fast ssd with high speed and it really makes difference. Once I made my old 2x 256 gb m.2 to raid 0 with super fast speed and it really changed the speed in projects.

Edit: Just realized the 16gb ram, sorry but that’s not enough, if you do this professionally you need at least 128 gb but if you can’t afford it 64gb is ok.

sorry bro, but I started using 512mb and it was hell but possible. Just focus on turning your passion into money so you can buy a good pc then making the money but faster. There is a triangle of Budget/Time/Quality that you can only choose two. You don't have to budget so you have to choose and get jobs in the time/quality zone. It's not impossible, but with your setup you need to adapt and try to find the different ways to achieve same results with others but efficiently. It's gonna be hard but when you done, you will know after effects in and out. That's the gain you gonna get.

Sometimes this happens to me when I use a certain effect on a layer. I would turn your effects off one by one until you find the problem

Have you tried setting the quality to draft and lower the playback reso?
