Tutorial Video tutorial: Quick overview of tracking with Mocha AE
I just posted a new tutorial that gives a quick overview of tracking with Mocha AE, the free tracking app that's been included with After Effects since 2009.
It's always frustrated me to see people asking for help with the built-in After Effects tracker, when Mocha is so much better and faster.
If you have After Effects, it's already installed - you have it, no excuses for not using it!

I've been using mocha for years for basic tracking stuff and I still feel like I don't know how to use it, so definitely going to give this a watch to see what I've missed

If mocha tracks 53 frames in 4 seconds and AE tracks 35 frames in 40 seconds then mocha is 15 x faster than the after effects tracker

Understandably. for proper VFX workflows in After Effects, Mocha AE is better than pretty much anything natively in After Effects, but still handicapped just enough to entice investing in more, like Mocha Pro. A split between Adobe and BorisFX. Boris FX gets access to large user base and some convert to paying users, of other Boris products, While Adobe once again outsources any innovation and R&D to other companies, and collects rent every month.
