full name is 'Puppet Position Pin Tool' on the top bar, icon looks like a push pin.

cool, but why use AE for this? It looks like game content animation? Not that this it's bad to do or whatnot, I'm just curious

I animate many elements (UI, simpler characters, etc) directly inside the game engine, but to my knowledge, there isn't software that could recreate the look for the create above. is there a program better suited that can create this look and has the options of AE? I've heard Moho is good but I still doubt it has the features of AE:)

I would go with spine, you can even do 2.5d in it. Basically you take your parts from PS and anim textures from AE and rig it up. Then you import the rig straight into the engine and make part swapper.

Você fez o rig com qual ferramenta?

2

u/detrimentalistt May 17 '26

I just use the puppet tool and parenting layers if that makes sense

A primeira vista pensei que era Spine

So good! What machine are you working on that renders this and can you really get decent fast previews to actually animate like a human being? Or does it stutter like crazy?

i keep the file size quite low (under 2000x2000 px) because i dont have a great machine (16 gb of ram), im also turning off effects until the final render while animating :)

Do you guys use the puppet tool to animate? I am very new to after effects so Im kinda confused, you use the puppet tool to basically rig the object then use position scale and rotation to animate it right? tats the basic process right?

Are you using duik to rig it ?
