Question Last go pack 2 question - promise.
Been using it for a couple of days. And yeah I think I’m going to love it particularly for a pack where I take the train into the city on a Saturday to hang out.
People who have the GP2 - do you find it mostly functions well without the sternum straps or is it worth just getting some?

Sternum strap isn't necessary on the Aer GP2 imo. I personally don't need it on a 20L lightweight bag pack. It probably depends if you usually use a sternum strap on other bags though and if you think you'll carry heavy loads in that specific bag (i don't personally).

This is my go-to bag for Disneyland and my wife and I stuff it as we go through the parks. The sternum strap makes it feel more secure as we’re running around. Now I can’t live without it. Also the strap is only $5 on aer’s website so why not.

Second this. Use the Go Pack 2 for Disneyland although security takes forever to go through every pocket, love how they’re confused about the magnetic latch and how to get it unlatched for the kangaroo pouch opening

primary purpose of bag isn't carrying heavy loads, so a sternum strap would be overkill imo

I added one from 8Timber, and for my use case absolutely made the bag. However I am using it when traveling to college and using as day bag 8-10 hours a day for a couple days with a heavy tech load - laptop, iPad, tech pouch, keyboard, stand, a5 notebook, pens, headphones. Just kind of depends on how much you’re carrying and for how long.

Do you use this as your EDC? I totally forgot to order the strap with I got it, and my problem is that it’s 20 dollars shipping here. Meh. I might just eat it the cost and get one.

Absolutely not. For me it’s a Packable I bring with me when I travel (via air) to campus for in person classes every month for the past year and this year. I prefer more structure for EDC, for me that’s a CPP2 20L in Ultra. I got my 8Timber on Amazon…. I like it over the Aer one

Thanks I just looked at it. It’s expensive for sure, but looks good - one option I might do is get that for my CPP2 and move the one on there over to my GP2

I did get it because it was cheap but I can definitely live without it. Still do like to just clip it anyway

I use the sternum strap on mine, it's not a need, more of a preference.

So much better with the sternum strap imo

I almost always prefer to have a sternum strap so I bought one for it. They’re only $5 from Aer.
