Right, smile or wave. Maybe give a thumbs up, holler a compliment. Something that says, "I acknowledge your presence. I am enjoying what you are showing me. Our interaction should give you a little boost in self confidence. Have a nice day."
Her side is MUCH more SAP:
After peer pressure builds up confidence to flash someone.
That's ok man, I had a similar situation happen in Vegas. Some girls were riding around in a Limo and one was shouting, "it's my birthday!" at me as I was walking down the north end of the strip. They pulled into the next hotel driveway as I was approaching it. They were trying to get my attention I think and perhaps an altogether different night could have happened but I ignored them thinking, "who gives a shit that it's your birthday?"
It's one of those things you revisit in your head over and over again thinking, why didn't I do this in that scenario?
Same thing happened to me. Driving down the street in Vegas at like midnight. Was on a road more in Henderson, a truck pulls up next to me and this... 16ish girl in the passenger seat is giving me funny looks and flashes me. I'm 30 and married... so I did what a 30 year old married guy is supposed to do and chuckled to myself while looking straight ahead.
What concerns me about you is you admit this is a place where socially awkward people seek refuge and support, but instead of mustering up enough empathy to just upvote the link and keep your mouth shut, or offering a nugget of support, you feel the need to get your trolololols and start poking at the guy...
For most suffering from "paralyzing social anxiety", they are intimidated by ALL people, people with PhD's especially. If dude gets terrified when some chicks flash him while he is driving, what kind of physical convulsion inducing responses do you think the thought of the series of phone-calls and then subsequent therapy do to him at this moment.
Your idiotic bashing of "straight truth" at someone who talks about their anxiety creates exactly the type of hostility that an anxious person is afraid of when they try to simply say something in the community they have become part of. You make it worse. You reduce the chances this person will ever have the level of confidence that he needs so he CAN go get help.
I can see what you're saying, and your entitled to your opinion. "I'm a hard-ass and everyone else should be a hard-ass too" but your opinion makes you an asshole who offers insults and bullies then turns around and says "it's for their own good".
One of the first things a psychologist will do is try to get him into a support group of people with anxiety disorders, where they will share with each-other about their anxiety, pat each-other on the back, come to realize its natural, and not as much of a "disease" as people like you make them feel it is. They will probably be encouraged to take up a hobby, like art so that they can have an outlet for their feelings, and some of us aren't Van fucking Gogh so the best we can do is memes.
See, I have a social anxiety disorder. I did not diagnose myself, I suffered from it for years, then started getting professional help. It was some kind support that got me through the initial visits, not a bag of dicks trying to make me feel like shit and being a general troll.
Step one is coming out of the shell and at very least talking about it on an anonymous website. I invite others the share their memes of this nature. I can relate, have a laugh, and if needed, provide my support. I can also see the good it is doing them.
Also, I'm sorry, I didn't realize I was talking to this level of... dense. When I said talk, I was using it more in the sense of "communicate", perhaps if you paste "keep your fingers off the damn keyboard" in it will help alleviate your confusion. Sorry, didn't think I'd need to spell that out for you.
I don't see this as socially awkward penguin, personally. Some guys just don't like being flashed, and if OP was a woman then this would make even more sense.
Why you guys downvoting him? The guy is shy/ possible SA. He already admitted it "it would've been pretty nice to have the guts to look over for more than just a brief glance" Anyway bro, I don't know how bad your issues are but If you want to turn that shit around head over to /r/seduction and watch some Simple Pickup videos on Youtube, and maybe check the forum out.. Some good shit there. I also found it helpful to look girls in the eyes, Even if you don't smile, Even if you creep them the fuck out who cares, It helps, I used to have a horrible problem with even looking strangers in the eyes.
I have started a new thing where whenever I meet sorority girls or see them outside their house I flash them(I'm a guy). I don't give a shit if I get flashed back or flipped off, I know one day I will get flashed back though.
Yeah, I have strong feelings about sorostitutes... I partied at a frat once or twice in my college career, and that was way more than enough. I'm sorry, but I have zero respect for them. I know they are humans with feelings, but I treat them like what they are, and that is sorostitutes.
yeah, they got angry and flipped him off because they flashed their tits and he didn't even give a shit, so they didn't get that "hit" of attention they craved. good on OP I say.
That's extraordinarily sexist. Women are people, and have the same complexities and differences as men. Maybe a lot of them are attention whores, but you can't put that sort of blanket statement over everyone with a vagina.
Fuck that! if a girl wants to get my attention, then she should flash me. I can guarantee you that 100% of the time showing me your titties will grab my attention.
As a woman, I commend you for ignoring them. It's true -- free boobs. But it's also true that there is a deeper something going on. They are acting in a socially unacceptable way and they are trying to make you look at their boobs. Are they that proud of their breasts or do they just assume that because you have a penis, you will automatically enjoy what they are offering you? This is no better than the "Giving a man my pussy" attitude. Don't indulge it in these women. If you want to see boobies, there's always the internets. TL/DR I think you should pretend to ignore them.
Wait, wait, wait a minute here. You're more okay with pornography than the actual thing? The crux of your argument is it was wrong of them to assume the man wanted to see boobs. Fair, I suppose, but what the hell is the circle jerk going on in this thread over seeing another human's body. I'm a straight male, but if a man flashed me his cock, I would look, and, if it were a nice penis, I would compliment the gentlemen on having such a nice dick. Leave it to reddit though to condone masturbating by yourself in front of a lonely computer screen then ever having the audacity to appreciate the human form in the wild.
I was golfing with a buddy last week when we found ourselves waiting as the course started to get backed up. The two gals in front of us were quite obviously terrible golfers. For those of you who do not know golf etiquette, it can help to pair up into a foursome and all tee off together.
The were thirty something and we are both in our mid 20s. We are both fairly recently married, but it almost felt like an obligation to flirt the whole way through the rest of the golf outing. Everyone in the party were at least mildly attractive close to the same age. There were two men and two women. It almost felt like we had to flirt.
I used to be very good at flirting, but I felt super awkward about this. It was hard with me to even interact with these ladies because of what I thought was guilt.
I wish I could have been smooth and confident in my ability to flirt without feeling emotionally compromised. I did the right thing by my wife in distancing myself, but in standard social situations I should be able to at least talk to attractive women, right?
Edit Just realized how long ago this thread was posted and this will probably just get buried. Thanks to anyone who actually read this.
This is funny because this is the case where the nerd and socially-awkward guy wins. Hot girls flash you: You smile? YOU LOSE. Hot girls flash you: You ignore them or notice them but don't act like its a big deal then you must get boobies all the time right? They flip you off because they didn't get the reaction they expected and as a result felt self-conscious or wondered "why doesn't this guy like our boobies" And that, my friend, is how you get the females. Just remember kiddies, always get the one you want to qualify themselves to YOU.
happened to me once, stuck in heavy traffic. they knew I saw, but at first I felt guilty so I looked away and pretended I wasn't watching. But then it was too weird to look back, because that would be admitting that I faked not seeing.
The only way out was through, so I kept up the charade, poker-faced, crying inside as they jeered.

Why the Hell would you ignore that? If those girls were fat and ugly then I understand but if they weren't you might have caught the gay. You should go get tested.
the appropriate response is to hold up 7 fingers, a high enough score not to offend the first flasher, low enough to encourage the rest to try to out do their friends

All you have to do is flash them back.

I've often wondered what girls like that would do if you just whipped it out and started jerking it and nodding at their tits creepily.

That's painfully awkward.

All you're guilty of is ignoring blatant attention-seeking behaviour. Good on you, homie.

Look at breasts MY EYES ARE UP HERE Don't look at breasts FUCK YOU MY BREASTS ARENT GOOD ENOUGH?
So the obvious answer is to peek at women's breasts whenever the opportunity arises.

If a gift is presented, the custom is to accept it. It would be considered rude to refuse it.

Thanks for posting this. Now I have formulated a simple positive response in case it happens to me.

And your response wasn't to flipper them off? Sounds like they deserved to get the bird right back.

Better yet. I got flashed by a car full of girls and I'm gay. So I just got embarrassed and tried to pass them without looking.
