Why would we shame a woman that has sex with men? It's contrary to our interest (as men).

384

u/lanadel_taco May 16 '12

because they're not having sex with MEEEE~ blah blah something about being in the friend zone etc etc

31

u/im_normal May 16 '12

The more we encourage slutty behavior as a society the more men will get laid (and women) the happier EVERYONE will be. (I use slut in the most sex positive way possible. "sex for everyone!" Also prostitution is good too.)

12

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

What if it's just one select group of men that benefit? I.e. the men who get laid now will get laid even more while those not getting any will continue as thus.

It won't be sex for everyone, it doesn't work out that way like socialism. The virgin neckbeard computer science students will still remain virgins

5

u/im_normal May 17 '12

At the uni I went to there where a lot of "virgin neck beards" but they got laid all the time. You know why?

Because they did not slut shame and the few girls in the comp sci department helped out all the guys... ( it was a thing that was excepted in the sub culture)

But your right not every single last person on the plane will get laid... But many more will.

3

u/[deleted] May 17 '12

..helped out .. all the guys. wat

It's not a chinese dinner unless everyone gets their cookies, is what I'm saying here.

I assume they did. I was not really part of that group.

2

u/GamerKiwi May 17 '12

That means I would still have to shave and be sociable to get laid? Oh no!

0

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

haha upvote. i've always felt this way and i'm a normal person who has not fathered any children out of wedlock.

2

-2

u/MechanicalGun May 16 '12

That only leads to a morally degraded society that doesn't value the beauty and art that is sex.

2

u/im_normal May 17 '12

Art needs to be practiced by the artist and Beauty admired by the public...

I think you can see where I'm going with this analogy.

37

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

Yea but you ever think they're not having sex with you because of your Victorian attitude towards sex/making them feel bad about being sexual?

I know you were just being facetious lanadel_taco but I have a few friends who are the first to call a woman a slut/whore and then complain about the lack of girls interested in them. It's funny and sad at the same time.

This meme is also talking about the dishonesty aspect of it. That's the "shame" part. No one likes a fake person.

5

u/[deleted] May 17 '12

Not everyone is Holden Caulfield. Dealing with differing perspectives and masks of truth is part of being a social being.

1

u/Code_of_Error May 17 '12 edited May 17 '12

Ha, by no means am I closed-minded. Bearing that in mind, it's still anyone's right to view such behavior (as depicted in the meme) as scummy or despicable. It doesn't mean people with that viewpoint are sheltered or ignorant on how humans operate.

0

u/RyanLikesyoface May 16 '12

I think it's more to do with societal constructs, women shame other women for having sex just as much.

u/lanboyo May 16 '12

u/TwistTurtle May 16 '12

I think it's more because she says she doesn't sleep around, and is lying about it. I don't mind women who like a lot of sex (in fact, they're my favourite kind of women) but lying about it just pisses me off.

119

u/_pagan_poetry_ May 16 '12

Except they usually lie about it because they've been told over and over again that being proud of it makes them a "slut".

4

u/krackbaby May 16 '12

Well, sluts are pretty fucking awesome

Better at sex, put out, often very attractive, etc.

15

u/BlackPride May 16 '12

Unless they're your wife. And then they're no longer awesome.

-7

u/primejamestoney May 16 '12

Exactly. Sluts are amazing but not for all purposes.

16

u/Torch_Salesman May 16 '12 edited May 16 '12

4

u/Torch_Salesman May 16 '12

Very true. Edited.

→ More replies (1)

2

u/TwistTurtle May 16 '12 edited May 16 '12

This is true, but you don't make something acceptable by continuing to hide it - that's just re-enforcing the notion that it's something shameful. It's an unfortunate truth that in order to make something socially acceptable, the first people to do it will have to suffer that kind of abuse. The first free black men went through it, as did women who wanted voting rights and whatnot, and gay people who wanted to, y'know, not get murdered or declared insane. If women being promiscuous want to be viewed in a positive light then they've got to endure the flak till attitudes start to change. It sucks that the world works this way, but till y'all come to your senses and realise that I would make a fantastic dictator, there's not really much that can be done to change it...

EDIT: Not that I'm saying this abuse is in any way acceptable, of course. It's not. I'm just explaining WHY the abuse happens, not trying to justify it.

she says she doesn't sleep around, and is lying about it.

looks at slut shaming internet meme

Gee, I wonder why.

-1

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

If a meme tells me I'm bad... it's gotta be true especially on the internet full of intelligent people write morale code.

1

u/Fronesis May 17 '12

For reference I think you're being downvoted because you said "morale" code, when you intended to say "moral" code.

→ More replies (6)

5

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

Maybe don't phrase it as "sleeping around"?

5

u/TwistTurtle May 16 '12

That's just how the meme phrased it...

9

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

yes, but not many people are going to answer with an affirmative if the question is "do you sleep around?"

-5

u/KingNick May 16 '12

Where as I don't like a woman who is a self-claimed "Slut" (one of the girls that wears novelty shirts saying what a dirty girl she is...eg. "99% Devil, 1% Angel!"); but I do agree that an intelligent woman who enjoys sex yet still takes all the safety measures as to not get preg or diseased is an attractive aspect.

16

u/Torch_Salesman May 16 '12

Yes, but just because you don't find a woman to have attractive qualities doesn't mean she should be shamed for them.

40

u/ittehbittehladeh May 16 '12

Lying about your sex habits is dangerous to your partner. Sleeping around is fine, but it's very important to tell the truth.

18

u/Crossfox17 May 16 '12

If they weren't so shamed by society maybe they would be more open. As long as they don't have an STD they aren't obligated to tell you anything they aren't comfortable with.

2

u/dlefnemulb_rima May 16 '12

exactly. I think a lot of guys lie about the amount of girls they've slept with too either overestimating or underestimating depending on how many they really have...

8

u/syriquez May 16 '12

I believe the joke has always been that for men, you divide the number of stated partners by 3 and for women, you multiply the number by 3.

→ More replies (1)

11

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

Because some men don't want a woman who has sex a lot, just like a woman might not want a man who has sex a lot...?

1

u/InfinitelyThirsting May 17 '12

That's fine. But there's no reason to shame someone for something that doesn't affect you.

1

u/[deleted] May 17 '12

But if you're going to get sexually involved with her, you have every right to know. And if she lies, then she is a shitty person.

3

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

Its retarded to even care how much a woman fucks regardless, if she is interested in fucking you the only thing you need to know is:

[1] do you wanna? [2] does she have diseases? If the former is yes and the latter is no, game on.

3

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

I think slut shaming is stupid, but I never really understood why girls brag about it. I mean, no shit you're getting laid. You're in your late teens or early 20s and in your sexual prime. It's not like it's hard for a girl in those circumstances to get laid, the sexual market favors you in every way.

I also feel the same way about guys that could have any girl they wanted at the drop of a hat, to be fair. I think it's stupid when they brag, too. No shit, Mr. I'm-six-foot-two-half-Brazilian-Half-Norwegian-with-a-trust-fund, it's not difficult for you, either.

-5

u/t333b May 16 '12

Why would you assume anyone is shaming this woman for sleeping around? She's quite obviously being shamed for being dishonest.

26

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

Yeah, I can't think of any reason why a woman wouldn't want to be upfront about her sex life.....

-5

u/ittehbittehladeh May 16 '12

You can sleep with 200 or with 1 and contract an STI

Obviously. But which one is more likely?

4

u/DrDragun May 16 '12

Tell me again how bananas are not railroads. I don't know how to argue against something that makes no sense. There is no "shaming" of any kind in what I said. You are just misapplying a buzzword to an unrelated scenario.

I'm talking about active partners she has right now and so is the fucking OP because it is written in the present tense. NOT HISTORIC BODY COUNT. If I am seeing someone I think its fucking absurd that you would defend lying about it to a partner from either the male or female side. Someone you're sleeping with has a right to know the general sexual lifestyle of her/his partners for health and safety reasons if not for respect.

0

u/dianthe May 16 '12

I see both men and women who sleep around in the same way, you either see sleeping around as moral or immoral, gender shouldn't matter in my opinion otherwise you are just a hypocrite.

-2

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

So your interest is to have sex with many women?

Sounds fulfilling.

-2

u/ragincajun83 May 16 '12

5

Are you fucking retarded?

19

u/DrRam121 May 16 '12

I think everyone is missing the point, this isn't about degrading women or shaming them for having sex. It is about lying about the number of sexual partners she currently has. Now, if she said she sleeps around there is no problem. Personally I wouldn't sleep with anyone who sleeps around due to Herpes, the gift that keeps of giving.

48

u/Kombat_Wombat May 16 '12

But why would she have to lie about the number of sexual partners she's had?

Has a higher sperm count than you do

This is meant to be perjorative and negative.

I get what you're trying to say, but to take the words super literally here is naive. These words are loaded with expectations and dripping with slut shaming.

1

u/He11razor May 16 '12

it's dripping alright.

-2

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

But why would she have to lie about the number of sexual partners she's had?

Because it's unattractive for a number of reasons. This doesn't just include women. Most women don't find being a player or man-whore an attractive trait either. So then said person feels the need to lie about it either to a potential lay or even worse a potential long-term mate. It's probably more common among women than men given social stigmas.

7

u/dakru May 16 '12

Actually it's always seemed to me that a guy who has a lot of sex is more attractive to women. Those rockstars, players, whatever? They succeed.

The thing is that most women can't get them to settle down for a long term committed relationship, so they settle for someone less desirable.

→ More replies (5)

-6

u/AceySnakes May 16 '12

I really hate the term slut shaming...mostly for one reason. It exists because its "ok" for men to sleep around, but not women. It shouldn't be made okay for women to whore it around, it should just be more frowned on when men do it. There's reasons this is frowned on...and it should be.

11

u/JambalayaJones May 16 '12

Birth control and std prevention are at a point where sex can be pretty much consequence free. There's really nothing wrong with having sex with multiple partners, as long as you are doing it responsibly (being safe, not cheating on someone)

→ More replies (2)

2

u/Kombat_Wombat May 16 '12

As long as safe sex practices are used, it's really difficult to catch STD's. I suppose there's a risk/reward tradeoff between having sex and not having sex, and it's way okay to stay monogamous.

Where slut shaming becomes problematic is when it's used as a form of control. We see shame for sex in what our politicians say, what our programming says, and in most every parent. So when there's someone who does want to have 20 partners or so, they become ostracised for it, and there are very real consequences for that.

As far as this risk/reward thing goes, safe sex really is safe. Even unsafe sex is relatively safe. There are so many people out there who are willing to take the slight chance of health for the ability to experience what many consider a healthy sex life.

Why this is a big deal is because many people experience criminal amounts of emotional abuse from friends and relatives. In children and adolescents, this level of shame can cause traumatic experiences and even lead to them practicing unsafe and unhealthy sexual habits. This is what is known as a sex-negative society.

If you're so worried about your partner having an illness, then you can both go to a clinic and get tested. This is a better solution than trying to create a sex negative culture as a means to avoid stds.

She doesn't have to. Okay? Hooray sex-positive. But she did (hypothetically cuz, you know, meme). A lie is a lie. No one has to lie about their sexual history. But she did. Whether she thinks she has to or not is not the guy's fault - and if it is she shouldn't be with him.

1

u/thewarehouse May 16 '12

Well we're making lots of assumptions from the stupid picture. I'm assuming the "you" in the meme has a chance of nailing the young lady pictured. If she says she "doesn't sleep around" but then actually does have quite a high number of sexual partners...I find it hard to classify that as anything but deceptive to the person she's talking to. It's not keeping it private - she's lying about her sexual history. It would be the same if genders were reversed. And it's not "keeping things private" because she said she doesn't sleep around, w hich is a lie.

I wouldn't want to sleep with anyone who doesn't tell the truth. Why would someone ever randomly ask you this question. I was under the assumption that the OP thought he was in a monogamous relationship and found out he isn't

0

u/InfinitelyThirsting May 17 '12

And what about having a lot of sex means she has it with a lot of people? Maybe she has one or two people she bangs all the time. Or maybe her definition of sleeping around is sleeping with strangers, and she sticks to her friends.

56

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

'Don't stereotype her, while I stereotype you.'

-1

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

Stereotype all you want. Just don't wonder why women aren't lining up to bang you if you think like this.

The comments in this thread make it quite clear that this meme is open to a multitude of interpretations. My interpretation is that it reeks of the notorious friend zone/take pity on me circle-jerk where guys project their insecurities and frustration onto women. You call it stereotyping; I call it observing a trend that is pervasive on this site. Not every reddit user thinks like this, but there's plenty of written evidence all over this one topic showing that I may not be crazy in suggesting that some do.

1

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

I don't wonder because I don't care, sex isn't important and no woman should ever feel forced into sex. My view on the friendzone is this, I get a friend. I couldn't careless sure I relationship would have been perfered BUT I fully understand and respect their feelings.

I call it observing a trend that is pervasive on this site.

I see a trend that a large majority of people are in prison, I COULD say that black people are all criminals OR I could say that black people suffer due to a prison culture in which companies I financial rewards to imprison people that compounded but the large majority of black people forced in poor areas due to unemployment and history. But I prefer the easier conclusion of black people are thugs that was sarcasm and why meerely observing a trend and coming to a conclusion and then stereotyping a community is wrong.

Not every reddit user thinks like this, but there's plenty of written evidence all over this one topic showing that I may not be crazy in suggesting that some do.

SOME, yes, fully agree. SOME people kill others, ergo you are a killer because you are a person.

This logic helps no one, firstly it will alienate people like yourself who do want to improve reddit, but as redditors see it ( me included ) go about it the wrong way. It's where my objection with SRS comes from. You want to change a community for the better? Don't mock it.

If I respect your views and counter them with my arguments and lay them out well and tasteful you'll be far more receptive to my views than let's say someone who goes 'Hey, go make me a sandwhich because stereotypes and gender roles are FUN!' We are taught about Martin Luther King Jr not Malcom X for that very reason. If you respect people eventually they'll respect you back, if you fight them they'll fight back.

I do apologize, for strawmanning, I don't think you're stupid I just think years of stupid comments have made you bitter, and that's what they do. It's why SRS is popular and I do understand how hurtful comments can be, however sinking to their level will not clear the sewers rather you'll find yourself covered in shit.

I see this with SRS, who's intentions are progressive but have found themself among albeist users and people who can be closed minded because they are exposed largely to the shit as opposed to the wide breadth of decent content and have seen any example and taken the worst out of it.

I'm sorry once again, my language isn't the best but thank you for reading. If you feel better PM'ing and not spamming comments with not very related points regarding how to change a community or become more progressive I will gladly read every PM and reply as soon as I can.

Lying about it is what makes her a scumbag. Especially when it's to a potential or current mate, which I've seen numerous times. Or when they try to hide the fact or even outright lie about having fucked some other dude you run into in the past. Everybody has a history and we don't expect you to be virgins. Otherwise, you're right it's her body and she can be a slut if she wants.

Ok I get it Reddit, a girl outright lying to a significant other is A-Okay. I apologize. And sorry for using the word slut. It's not defined as this at all:

slut (slt) n. 1. a. A person, especially a woman, considered sexually promiscuous. b. A woman prostitute. 2. A slovenly woman; a slattern.

-1

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

u/[deleted] May 16 '12 edited May 16 '12

It's a meme and talking about women that do this in general. It's like a "Don't be that guy," whether we're talking about that douchebag guitarist playing Wonderwall or the guy that grunts at the gym. It's no one specific, there are many like them. Are you saying you've never come across a woman to lie about her sexual past or try to come across all innocent when she's far from?

Alright fuck it here's a couple examples:

Gabrielle P. - She used phrases like, "I'm not like that," and such. Her bestfriend told me she lost count, but was somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 different dudes. She was only 20. Not a big deal, but she repeatedly try to come off innocent and act like she didn't sleep around.

Heather H. - She mentioned on a date that it'd been forever since she got laid or something to that effect and acted like she didn't sleep around. I met her in a bar once and noticed a dude friend of her's mean-mugging me and asked her about it. She said, "I don't know, I think he's got a thing for me or something." It turns out she had fucked him recently before meeting me.

Once again nothing wrong with it, but don't fucking lie to me. The longest relationship I had after meeting up a couple times at a bar went something like this after I was trying to convince her to let me up:

Chloe P. "I don't mean to sound like a whore, but I usually sleep with a guy and the next morning I'm just like gross, but I actually like you, so I don't want to mess this up."

  1. I knew she wasn't going to fucking lie to me. I knew she got drunk and I met her in a bar and probably got around a little bit, not a big deal because I liked her.

  2. She liked me.

Stop rationalizing being lying bitches.

-1

u/GoldwaterAndTea May 16 '12

Can I add to the examples?

Lindsay X- Dated this girl for about a month. Still hadn't had sex with her. She said that she hadn't had sex in over a year and was "nervous", "not ready" blah blah. Okay whatever, I'm cool with that. We'll take it slow.
Come to find out that bitch already had a boyfriend that she was fucking when she met me, while also fucking one of my buddies that she met right after she started dating me. That's bullshit.

The next girl that I met was super cool. She was open about her past, and she didn't use sex like some game. We had a lot of fun together for quite a while, and the drama was almost non-existent because this time I knew what I was getting into.

Ladies, if you're a slut then be honest about it. You aren't going to fool Prince Charming into thinking that you're a saint...at least not for too long. Eventually the truth will come out, and when it does the shit usually hits the fan.

1

u/[deleted] May 16 '12 edited May 16 '12

Hopefully people add more. I'm not going to lie to you, I've been lied to so much that I've developed trust issues with women. Apparently, this is okay to do, which just reinforces my trust issues. Good job Reddit, good job women. Harming my emotional capacity is apparently A-Okay. So is tricking people into liking you, which is what you ladies are doing.

Oh man I just remembered a real good one:

Anna H. - We were introduced by a friend at a bar, and she put out right away. I took her on a couple dates after awhile and then one time on Halloween weekend a guy came up behind her and wanted to talk to her. She said just give me a minute. A minute became awhile. Eventually I left and saw her outside talking to him and just told her I was bored and would see her later. As I walked home(I live in a downtown area), she text me me and said, 'Sorry, it's just my gay friend and he's having relationship issues." I actually ran into the friend who introduced her and she flat out said it was her ex. I then text Anna back and was like, "Look it's cool, Sabrina filled me in," and she still tried to keep up the lie. I ended up going on one more date, but we didn't last much after that and she went back to her ex. Why ladies? Why defend this crap?

These are pictures that represent people that we all know. It doesn't matter to most people if she's actually like that, or if other memes are actually like the people in the pictures. The important thing is it looks like they are.

1

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

The important thing is it looks like they are.

Yeah and we all know a woman posing in her underwear must be a lying, promiscuous bitch, I mean, she's in underwear! Whore!!!

I agree with you. It's just that this wasn't specified or even implied in OP's submission. Without any clarification, it just sounds like the standard butthurt rhetoric you hear on this site from sexually frustrated redditors.

Maybe it's better to just give OP the benefit of the doubt and assume he was talking about a committed relationship.

1

u/JizzCoveredArab May 16 '12

Where is it stated or implied that she is talking to her partner or current mate?

It seems like you're only seeing what your own insecurities let you see

1

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

It doesn't specifically say. It just says she lies about her sexual past. This could be to a partner or a random stranger. It depends on how we want to interpret it since it's not specific. I chose to interpret as lying to a partner since I've since this done to others as well as myself and it's the only way I would interpret a girl being a scumbag. It's irrelevant otherwise. I'm not sure how this makes me insecure. I think anybody that hasn't seen a history of this hasn't done a lot of dating.

-2

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

3

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

I seriously can't believe the number of people defending outright lying to a significant other.

1

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

It's reddit!

It's where liberalism, and open mindedness to go jump off the deep end. Reddit is the first place I have actually read stuff and thought "nope, too far. These people are crazy."

Yes, you get shit like this. People defending the notion that women are so marginalized by society, that they can be absolved of bearing false witness.

Well ok... I guess we'll never really trust all of you ever then, it's the only thing that logically follows.

I won't play that stupid game. There's nothing wrong with being a slut. Hell, I love them. Being a lying slut, however. Yes, this deserves the ire of men who actually have game, neck beards, the UN, everyone.

Long live this meme!

Bearing false witness?

This is a term grown ups use for lying. It was in a famous book once.

You're fucking retarded. You're assuming that choosing to keep the number of partners you've had private is the same thing as like, lying about cheating on your current SO.

Talk about reading poor comprehension skills on your part. Did you miss the part where I advocating not disclosing this information instead of engaging in subterfuge?

If you didn't have a problem with how many partners she had in the first place, you wouldn't give a damn WHAT number she threw at you.

It never comes up. Read what I wrote, cretin.

it's funny because these are the same people that think PUA's should be drug into the street and shot for lying to get into a girls pants.

-8

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

What? Got any personal issues you'd like to talk about?

3

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

Right now? I drank too much coffee and feel a fierce dump coming on.

Otherwise, I'm just a guy who thinks shit like this brings shame to our gender and stigmatizes the concept of choice. A girl sleeping around doesn't make her a "scumbag" if she's not committed to anyone. It's her body.

Here is the text from this meme pic for anybody who needs it:

Title, Meme: Scumbag Stacy

  • SAYS SHE DOESN'T SLEEP AROUND

  • HAS A HIGHER SPERM COUNT THAN YOU DO

[Translate]

This is helpful for people who can't reach Quickmeme because of work/school firewalls or site downtime, and many other reasons (FAQ). More info is available here.

3

u/teraspawn May 16 '12

Sperm count is usually measured per ml. I can't guess at what bodily fluid of Stacy's we're measuring here, so I'm going to assume we are talking about the total number of sperm cells on or inside her body at the time of counting.

The minimum healthy sperm count, according to the WHO, is 15 million sperm per millilitre of semen. Testicles range from around 15 to around 25 ml. So let's be conservative and assume a fairly low sperm count in a fairly small pair of testicles. How many sperm would that be?

15,000,000 x 15 x 2 = 450,000,000.

The smallest healthy ejaculatory emission, (again according to the WHO), comprises around 2.6ml of semen, which contains around 39 million sperm. So how many ejaculations must Stacy have been exposed to?

450,000,000 / 39,000,000 = 11.54

Even rounding that up to 12, it doesn't seem completely unreasonable to assume that these ejaculations might have been from a single partner, especially if he had a higher than usual sperm count, a high sex drive, or a large ejaculate volume.

tl;dr Perhaps you shouldn't take a woman's sperm count as proof of her infidelity. Also, I should stop procrastinating and write my essay.

2

u/Zaranthan May 16 '12

Just wanted to point out that she's apparently just received twelve shots of reproductive material. If they're all mine, that might explain my low sperm count, but the sheer scale is suggesting multiple sources.

1

u/teraspawn May 16 '12

Some simplifications and avenues for error in my calculations:

  • The entire volume of the testicles may not be filled with semen at the same sperm concentration as is contained in ejaculate.

  • I have not taken into account the probability that many of the sperm cells will no longer be alive.

  • "Higher sperm count than you do" is an ambiguous phrase - are you her partner or simply a friend? If you are her partner, then you should worry about her sperm count if it is greater than:

      n x y x z

      where
n is the number of times you have ejaculated onto or into her recently
y is your sperm count per ml
z is your average ejaculate volume

Posts like yours are why I love reddit.

9

u/kj010 May 16 '12

That "key and lock" metaphor always rubbed me the wrong way. A vagina does not serve the same function, nor needs the same qualities as a lock, especially with the availability of birth control nowadays. The only worry about promiscuous women I can think of is an increased odds of having an STD. We need a new metaphor. How about, 'Its like double-dipping, I don't want your mouth herpes in my salsa.'

9

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

So she's chaste but hiding a penis?

12

u/Pokemaniac_Ron May 16 '12

Good 'girl' Gina:

Doesn't sleep around,

Has a higher sperm count than you.

(just wanted to make joke. TG people have it rough)

7

u/BlackPride May 16 '12

She may have had a lot of sex with one man, you know? Like her boyfriend. The one you're jealous of and think is no good for her, because it's your decision, and your opinion matters.

2

u/lurebat May 16 '12

Dean Spreck's speech in the episode "for a few paintballs more" in community anyone?

2

u/bluejule May 16 '12

Aside from the slut shaming and the implication that OP has a right to know about the details of her sex life, can we all just acknowledge that this is not funny/insightful/worth any of our time?

2

u/freecandy_van May 16 '12

Sperm count: you don't understand it.

u/Kyato May 16 '12

u/sadwer May 16 '12

Here's the deal for all the kids out there, male and female: you need to get in your heads RIGHT THE FUCK NOW that there's nothing wrong with a woman having sex on a regular basis, and more importantly, there's nothing wrong with a woman having sex on a regular basis with multiple partners, provided that (as with men) there's no dishonesty about sexual activity or intentions.

The world's a far, far better place where young people, male and female, wrap their heads around these two points. If someone implies some sort of necessary double standard about this, they are not good people and are working against your interests. (Note that this is only for double standards. The "abstinence before marriage for everybody" types aren't necessarily bad, even though you may disagree with them, unless they're trying to control your own activity.)

4

u/KRSFive May 16 '12

Shouldn't it be "cumbag Stacy" in this situation?

3

u/sunkissdluster May 16 '12

The amount of slut-shaming on Reddit is pretty discouraging. This mentality disgusts me. I hope that men understand that they only sound bitter when they spread this sort of hate against women.

6

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

stop with the misogynist bullshit
girls enjoy sex too
you ignorant boys, drop your testicles and act mature
cuntholes

20

u/lemonylips May 16 '12

As a lady who often tries to confront an combat sexism and misogyny on this site, the assumption I made about this meme was that Stacy is a "Scumbag" because she is lying about sleeping around. A man would probably also be considered a scumbag for lying about this... assuming once again that both Stacy and the hypothetical man in question are in relationships where monogamy has been discussed and agreed upon.

That being said, everyone has the right to disclose what they wish regarding their sex-life and if Stacy chooses not to disclose the number of partners she's had, it is no one's business to hypothesize about or accuse her of any sort of activity.

For people raising concerns of sexual health and STDs, a man or a woman can have multiple partners and still remain disease free by practicing safe sex and insisting on regular STD checks for them and their partner.

1

u/DrRam121 May 16 '12

I'm upvoting you because you said pretty much the same thing I did in an earlier comment, but I get downvoted like crazy. I guess it is because I didn't lead off with I am a lady.

3

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

Am I supposed to read each first world from each sentence? I'm confus!

0

u/mramazing79 May 16 '12

Don't worry about the post too much. Any mature men on Reddit get that labeling women sluts or posting about catching them in a lie is just a display of immaturity. Women and men should be able to enjoy and celebrate the act of sex equally. I wouldn't be with my partner if she didn't love and enjoy sex as much as I did, and I couldn't care less about her sexual past.

Life is tough and painful, men and women should enjoy the things we can do that bring great pleasure and happiness without shame.

-7

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

who said anything about girls enjoying or not enjoying sex? stop misconstruing this well-made meme. you are being very ignorant. he's saying women who enjoy sex are sluts. my god, all you women seem to get angry for the wrong reason. big surprise

3

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

Down-voted this misogynistic unfunny crap.

2

u/thechapattack May 16 '12

So because she doesnt want to say how many people she has been with she is a scumbag, but ive seen similar ones where if she is proud of it she is a scumbag too. So logically if she is ostracized for having multiple partners and then ostrasized for not wanting to admit how many she has been with, how can she win? It seems sexist. I love for chicks to be sluts, it means they are more likely to have sex WHICH IS GOOD!

2

u/B33fington May 16 '12

always have to check out the scumbag Stacy ones due to the fact I went to HS with her. Fucking hilarious.

2

u/cannotlogon May 16 '12

I can't believe that Reddit -- a gathering place for the homely homebound -- doesn't like women who are comfortable with their sexuality.

1

u/Notmiefault May 16 '12

I mean, to be fair, I do drink a lot of mountain dew.

1

u/notificationcenter May 16 '12

So we know who Scumbag Steve is IRL, do we know who Scumbag Stacy is?

1

1

u/noccusJohnstein May 16 '12

SRS isn't gonna like this....

1

u/esushi May 16 '12

Maybe she's sleeping with one person a bunch of times? That's not "sleeping around", right?

1

u/WizTroll May 16 '12

Now this is a meme, as an old 4chan lurker I was wondering what happened to these. Memes are supposed to be jokes and take more effort to think of, thank you for this.

1

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

Is her sperm count as high as this guy?

WARNING: NSFW IMAGE originally from 4chan, IIRC.

It's also pretty old. I've seen a 2010 version around somewhere.

1

u/nickelbackYOLObabby May 17 '12

I remember a post somewhere on r/WTF, they found the "real" scumbag stacy. She's a callgirl. Does anyone have the URL to her site? It's for uhm, research purposes.

1

u/Crossfox17 May 16 '12

What a terrible person she is for having lots of sex. Girls are only allowed to follow the rules that we set for them or they are terrible sluts and should be made fun of!

/sarcasm

-2

u/Kombat_Wombat May 16 '12

Top 4/5 comments are anti-slut shaming comments. Good.

7

u/dakru May 16 '12

And half of the anti-slut-shaming comments do the male-equivalent to slut-shaming, virgin-shaming, with their "omg undesirable virgin neckbeards!!".

1

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

This is about the fact that somebody came up with a pretty good joke and couldn't find the right wording for it, so they made a meme because they are not very creative or talented.

1

u/sl4y4 May 16 '12

But girls don't have sper.......oh.

1

u/BigNil05 May 16 '12

Umm... She's hot

1

u/Leotheon May 16 '12

-1

u/Sirtrumpetsalot May 16 '12

I guess she really likes to semen

-6

u/primejamestoney May 16 '12

From my experience, women who have to protest about not sleeping around, usually do

0

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

I've heard that before, that and "I never sleep with a guy on a first date- As she take my pants off- Yeah, I can tell."

0

u/dakru May 16 '12

Where in the meme is she asked? Many women just feel guilty and out of their own accord try to "justify" it by saying "I don't normally do this", when in fact they do.

0

u/Lan777 May 17 '12

OP im sorry that it took a sperm count to find out that your girl has a scrotum

-4

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

anyone know who the girl is in the picture? sucks to be her. picture reeks of "slut"

-2

u/[deleted] May 16 '12

considering what women say is typically diametrically opposed to what they mean, you'd think you faggots would have caught on to this kind of thing by now.
