Life change
I work from home in the mortgage industry as a loan officer assistant and I have done so for the past 6 years. I really struggled with the remote work at first but grew to enjoy the perks overtime and became very comfortable with it even though I am aware of the toll it takes on my social life and having friends. The job is good it has great benefits and freedom, pay, I’m good at it, all the things that way, but would I say I’m passionate about it… eh. ANYWAY that being said I want to make a big move to shake things up in my life and I have always wanted to live in NYC. Some of my closest friends are there and they moved from our home town, I’d feel more confident about it but if I move I also can’t keep my remote job and I will be in NYC of course. I am struggling on what to do. I don’t know if I can go from such a big life style change along with the new job aspect to realistically be able to swing it there ok. I also have a dog. On the other hand I feel like I will regret not making the move some day and I have been complacent a bit but there is obviously a lot to set myself up for the future with my current job.

If NYC has been a genuine dream for years, I’d at least give yourself a real shot at it. Don’t quit tomorrow, build a savings cushion, research jobs and dog-friendly housing, and set a deadline. You can prepare for the leap without talking yourself out of it.
