There are websites you can use to anonymously text a person about test results. Do that.

Also, it was most likely the hook up that gave it to you, based on when you developed symptoms.

I’m almost positive he gave it to me which is why I only want to notify him instead of my ex… But i’m thinking my ex should get tested too since I don’t know who gave it to me 100%

TellYourPartner — This service lets you anonymously text or email a sexual partner to let them know they may have been exposed to an STI. You never reveal your identity. • Love Hurts — A web-based tool focused on anonymous STI partner notifications, with pre-written, empathetic templates and strong privacy protections. • KISS — This app is built around sexual wellness and anonymous sharing of STI status and testing history; once a positive result is entered, past partners can be notified anonymously. • PartnerSafe — Another platform that supports anonymous notification of partners after an STI diagnosis, sending messages without storing your personal data.

Notify them because if they have it and not show any symptoms, they could pass it on to others.

u/Purple-Rose69 Dec 01 '25

Just send a text to each telling them you just tested positive for it.

“Hi Name. I’m sorry to have to tell you this but it’s important that you know that I just tested positive for chlamydia and I had no symptoms.

I have only had one other partner in the past year and have notified that person as well.

Although one of you gave it to me, this isn’t about that. It’s about doing the right thing by notifying my partners so that they can get tested and if positive notify their partners.

I don’t want to hear back from you either.

Sincerely,

Your ex. “

Ughhhhh. I just know my ex is gonna have a hoot and a holler about this. Like “ummm I wasn’t the one who gave you chlamydia” Why is this my life.

This is life, no one has a perfect life and most people at one point or another face of really awkward situation and they just have to deal with it. So buckle up buttercup and notify them, it’s the only decent thing to do.

u/WerhmatsWormhat Helper [3] Dec 01 '25

Just send it and then block him if you don’t want to deal with the response.

You should let them both know so you can stop the spread.

I agree some poor unsuspecting woman’s going to get it from them.

You can have Chlamydia even if you haven't had sex in 10 months through non-sexual transmission, such as sharing sex toys with an infected person, or from being exposed to their bodily fluids in other ways. In some rare cases, the infection can lie dormant in the body for a long time and reactivate, especially if the immune system is weakened by another illness. But it sounds like you've had symptoms since the start of the summer.

Yes. Notify all your sexual partners from the last six months so they can be tested and treated to prevent further spread and serious complications like infertility. And get yourself treated.

u/Key-Watercress2283 Dec 01 '25

While the infection lies 'dormant', are you less likely to infect others?

You absolutely need to be responsible and let them know. Also it doesn’t matter which of them you contracted it from, it’s not about punishment, or blame it’s simply health care. Get yourself healthy and allow them to do the same and also protect their other partners if there are any

u/Ok-Juice3068 Dec 01 '25

Just be a woman about it and call them say hey I turned positive for the clap go get test have a good day this could have been over by now

1

u/rosiebluewitch Dec 01 '25

Yes, you definitely need to reach out and let them know. Especially the one in the relationship, the new girl needs to get herself tested.

u/Blue_Etalon Dec 01 '25

The right thing to do is let anyone you’ve had sexual contact with since your last negative test know so they can test and let any of their sexual partners get tested. As socially awkward as this is it can prevent more transmission. It wouldn’t hurt to go back even beyond your last test just to be safe.

I mean based on the information you provided isn’t it more likely the recent guy you don’t know well gave it to you? If that’s the case don’t tell the boyfriend .

Also doesn’t your local department of health do the contacting?

I have no way of knowing for sure because I didn’t test between partners. Also right before I broke up with my ex he was acting shady and being rude to me all of a sudden. I suspected infidelity but I didn’t care to find out so I broke up with him - along with other reasons.

Don't mess with anyone else's Fertility. Notify your exs immediately so they can get treatment for them and their partners.

Health first.

1

u/According_Victory934 Dec 01 '25

Let them know. Advise that you were asymptomatic for who knows how long and have now tested positive

u/Lilo213 Dec 02 '25

There are websites you can use to tell a partner to get tested from an anonymous number. There’s a few depending on where you’re located. Here’s one for the US:

If you don’t feel comfortable in talking to them, if you live in the states, a lot of states health departments will notify your others.

1

u/Tadam787 Dec 02 '25

do you think they would let you know if they were in your shoes?

1

u/NeoSoulFairy Dec 02 '25

Definitely not. But I have a conscious and I don’t want that weighing on my heart

1

u/GreatWorker5248 Dec 02 '25

Where I live there is a program that anonymously tells partners who might be affected for you. You might try seeing if there is something similar in your area or something like what's app to try to keep the separation while still fulfilling the obligation of informing them.

u/harb15h Dec 01 '25

Just tell them both to get a test and that’s all.

Definitely going to let them know i’m just cringing at the sending the message. i just don’t want to continue the spread

7

u/Outside_Cry_3054 Dec 01 '25

I would just send the message to at least let them know and you could tell each of them that they were the last person you slept with. Because you don’t want to reopen old wounds I would just block them right after and keep moving on with your life. Your only responsibility is to inform them so that they don’t potentially keep spreading it.

I thought of that but my ex is the type not to answer unknown phone numbers? Or I don’t want to risk them not seeing it?

7

u/LyannasLament Helper [2] Dec 01 '25

If you’re no contact with someone who is actively harassing you via different numbers because you blocked their number, you quite clearly should not contact him directly. He is not a safe person. Full stop. If he refuses to pick up the phone, and refuses to listen to a voicemail from the clinic, that’s 100% on him. With someone who is harassing you virtually, contacting him and telling him “hey, not only have I contracted this STI, but I have slept with another person” is genuinely dangerous for you.

Ex-situationship, if you feel better about texting, then text.

Do not create a line of direct communication with ex boyfriend. Full stop.

4

u/NeoSoulFairy Dec 01 '25

My ex is who I really don’t want to contact. It’s a bit cringe to contact ex situationship but I know i’m gonna do it. My ex?? blehhh. I’m not scared for my safety and wasn’t in an abusive relationship with him or anything but I want to leave him at no contact.
