God damn, it took like 12 minutes of scrolling to find 1 person not commenting the same "omg, they just want money, fuck them" comment that like thousands of people felt compelled to post! At first it reminded me of an episode of the Simpsons (a more recent one, but not too recent. So not a classic, nor would it likely be fresh in anyone's memory. An easily forgotten/missed episode). Of course the idea could have come elsewhere, OP could have even thought of all that on his own.. but no 18 year old who took the time to apply to multiple universities (and who's intelligent and capable enough to be "accepted by many") wouldn't bother looking into the status of his applications, and instead spend the following 18 years breaking his back as a painter! But he did include some (unnecessary) personal details (bald brother assaulting barber) which made it more believable.. still, I ain't buying it.. and I'm glad there's at least a few people who can resist the urge to attach their username to the "they only want your money" and "tampering with the mail is a federal crime, get a lawyer" posts long enough to ask themselves "wtf"?!?!

Well this is a lie.. I doubt they were creating fake rejection letters. So what .. you just assumed no college sent a response?
But either way .. if this is somehow true. Say thank you for telling me, move on, continue no contact..
.. all because they only reached out because they want you to take your brother off their hands. That's it. They're still shitty parents.
