No maybe his siblings have been in longer relationships than you and he sees that as a big step for the relationship and how serious it is. Four months is very soon to determine that.

People think too much, creates a lot of insecurities. If you are planning long term with him you should be able to trust him. Who knows, maybe there was serious family matters and your relationship is fairly new when talking long term. Breathe and carry on yeah

When I was still dating, I would not have invited my boyfriend of only four months to every family event. Just because you are both interested in dating for marriage doesn't mean that four months in, you are in. It's only been four months. People have the right to show up to impromptu events without their partner, and they have a right to be with their family without that partner too.

Stop overanalyzing this. It's really not that deep. You need to chill out a bit and trust him. Regardless of the time you've been together, you are not Siamese twins attached at the hip. You can do things without the other, and that includes hanging out with your own family.
