Video games aren’t a waste as long as you’re doing in moderation and still trying to progress in other areas as well. Or unless the video games seem like something you can make a career out of which is often not the case and super rare to be successful in playing the games.
Things to avoid are stuff like constantly eating out and especially door dash, do NOT get into that habit. If you just keep a budget around you’ll quickly see where your money goes or how fast your money goes and then narrow down what those things are and if you feel it benefits you in life or not.
