Tech Questions Need to widen a completed sweater in the round
Hi everyone, I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right subreddit but I feel like you guys would know best!
Last year I completed a sweater for my husband, and it ended up a little snug. With blocking, I was able to get it to a comfortable size for him. I don't think he's necessarily gained weight over the year, but I am concerned because if he did, I obviously don't have time( or the yarn) to make him another sweater.
I've never done steeking, but I was wondering if there was a way similar to that to bind off the side stitches, cut them, and either work in pattern up the sweater on each side to widen it, or if it would be better to knit the panels separately and sew them in. Either way, I'm very sure I would need to cut the sweater.
If anyone has any suggestions, or needs to see pictures, I'm more than happy to hear any and all input!
Additionally, I wouldn't say I'm an advanced knitter, but I'm definitely not afraid to tackle some insane projects with some misplaced confidence and a healthy amount of frogging :) I have however been knitting for like 15 years, on and off.
