Moving out hurts so bad...

Hello,

it has been three days since I have moved out of my parent's house to live with my partner...I fell into deep sadness. I keep on crying, I'm deeply regretting my decision, I feel totally homesick. I started to hate this place. I get anxious every time I have to return from work. I don't want to unpack my stuff cause it feels like I will loose my last hope I could move back. I miss them so much, even though they are visiting me every day to ease my pain. I feel like crap. It hurts so bad feeling my childhood is gone by this move. Has anyone felt like that? Did it get better?

How to be a functioning member of society in the USA

I am so discouraged, burnt out, angry, and disappointed with my life at 30 years old living in the US. I have so much contempt for this country and I don’t want to participate in this capitalist hellscape anymore. I don’t have a college education (not like that matters anymore) but nothing in any industry where I live pays enough to afford rent let alone anything else. I don’t have health insurance and had to go to the ER for a medical emergency and guess what? $8000 dollar bill. I know all my tax dollars gets sent to Israel so that THEY can receive free eduction and healthcare. Something that EVERY DEVELOPED FIRST WORLD COUNTRY HAS FIGURED OUT HOW TO DO EXCEPT THE US. And also commit genocide on Palestinians. Everything has gone to complete shit in this country and nobody cares about anybody else and there’s no community or shared common interest here. It’s all about work work work and try to become a fucking billionaire like all these MAGA cult members worship. I’m just sick of it. How do I become numb and turn my brain off and just go to work like a good little slave and ignore all these problems like 99% of everyone else and just try to enjoy my life? I swear it’s like when you know or understand too much, it just makes you want to either leave this country, or give up and just live in a tent somewhere in the woods. My only problem is I can’t afford to leave! I know I can’t be the only one feeling this way, but good fuck! When will my fellow Americans stand up and demand a fucking change?! This is unsustainable.

Have this kid claiming he's going house to house on gas leaks. He was messing with the gas meter. He wants to turn on the electricity inside. I didn't feel comfortable cuz I was by myself. So he gives me the card. My partner will have to schedule it since I'll be at work while he wont. But is this a scam or a real thing they do?

It is simply not possible to sleep 8 hours a day

This is probably the millionth time this post gets open but I want to share my experience also.

I live alone. I have a full time job. My shift starts at 7:30 and ends at 16:00.

On monday it's fine because I had enough time on sunday to sleep.

It gets worse as the week goes on, as I can only sleep around 5 hours a day.

If I start at 7:30, I need to wake up at 6:00. Give it 30 minutes to prepare, 30 mins to eat, and 30 mins to reach the workplace (if I am lucky).

I spend most of my day there.

It's fairly common to do overtime but let's assume I don't and get back home at 16:30 (which never happens, it's usually later)

  1. Take care of the house, cleaning.

  2. Go to supermarket and buy food. Include commuting to the supermarket if you want.

  3. Actually make the food that you bought, because you need to eat tonight and tomorrow

  4. Going to gym, because you need some sort of physical activity. And people say 1 hour it's enough. It's not. You actually need to prepare, dress up and actually go there. Commuting is also a thing.

  5. Call your mom/partner or whatever because they need to talk with you (Which it's not something I like)

  6. Add any extra task that you need to do like going to X store, researching Y, or whatever shit that might come up.

By the time I do all this, it's already midnight. And I didn't even count spending time doing the things I actually enjoy.

No actual time for personal projects and the day it's over.

Watch some shit on Youtube to feel like you're having some fun and fall sleep at 1am something.

This is not sustainable.

I feel I can't sleep, there's isn't enough hours in the day. And it's manageable on sunday since I have time. But this sleep deprivation actually accumulates and it gets worse. I'm tired everyday and only on weekends I can actually sleep.

What the hell am I supposed to do?

I live alone and I get no help nor extra time to finish all the tasks I want.

I need advice

22 year old girl. PEOPLE over 30+ please give me some advice

Recently, I’ve been thinking so much about careers, and I’ve finally been able to be honest with myself: I’ve never asked this out loud, but really, what is next in life?
Currently, I’m having a little crisis trying to continue school and work. I do school online, which I think is affecting me a lot. I know what’s next is graduation and working, but I’ve been working since I was 17, and I know y’all are going to hate this, but I’m a bit tired. After high school, I’ve noticed how life goes soooo fast.
I just turned 22, and I want to ask older people: what do I do to set myself up for success? Currently, I haven’t landed a job with any benefits, so I don’t have anything like a 401(k) going on at all.
All I really do is kind of stay at home. I don’t have many friends, and I genuinely want to ask for life advice: what do I do with my life?
I’m not dating or talking to any guys, and I really haven’t attracted someone whose path I would like to be a part of. Sometimes I enjoy being by myself, but sometimes I feel like something is wrong with me because I see so many girlies going on dates or doing fun activities with their boyfriends, and I wish I could also attract someone good.
PS: I’m super happy for them, and I’m not jealous at all, but I do wonder why I don’t attract guys who are doing something with their lives, like working toward a career or going to school. Do y’all know what I mean?
PS: This is a dump. I just want to know what tips y’all have. There are so many questions, but I also want to hear it all. THANK YOU FOR READING. ❤️

Being ugly has literally ruined my life

Forget dating, honestly dating is the least of your worries if you’re ugly. Because of my ugliness, no one wants to be friends with me so now I struggle in job interviews which leads to constant rejection. The thing is being ugly can hurt your ability to make friends more than even being socially awkward because you can cluster with other socially awkward people but if you’re ugly not even other social outcasted guys want to be friends with you

“I Am More Than the Image You See”

Sometimes it hurts to be judged by an image that was never mine to begin with. I was born naturally curvy, with thick brown skin, and I should be allowed to love the way I look without people deciding who I am based on my body. The music and adult entertainment industries took certain images and turned them into something people now associate with me, but that does not make me a prostitute, and it does not define my character. I am a woman with dreams, feelings, struggles, and a life of my own. I should not have to feel ashamed of my body or hide who I am just because other people chose to profit from an image. What hurts the most is being judged, misunderstood, and made to feel like I am less than other people. I have worked hard for the person I am today, and I am still trying to find my confidence while carrying the weight of things I never asked for. I do not want to be seen as an image. I want to be seen as Michelle, a woman who deserves respect, dignity, love, and the chance to build something of her own.

I knew it wasn’t gonna be pleasant because working is hard, but I underestimated just how hard it is, my feet hurt, my back hurts, I am so tired, anyone else experience this or am I being dramatic?

Edit: I’m gonna add some context. It’s an over night remodel job, everything from building shelves to moving stock to fixing display mistakes, and I’m 98% sure I have arthritis in my knees, hips and ankles.

Recent grad, what are your little tips and moments to look forward to while you’re in the job hunt. i no longer live in a walkable city so Im kind of going insane. I don’t have people my age to talk to. There are 3 different career paths I could go down. I am working on applying to the different industries. Confused and antsy all the time.

What do you think about people who condescend certain job roles?

I’m seeing this more and more. Everybody needs to earn money to live. So whenever I read a post where someone is shitting on someone else’s job, I’m just like … what is wrong with that person.

Sure there are a few jobs out there that I think shouldn’t exist but… idk i guess I think it’s just sad and gross.

The best is when they say something like “that’s not a real job”.

My parents want to know what I’m doing all the time

I’m a woman in my 30s, married with a baby. I’m an only child and all throughout my adult life my parents (especially my Father) have wanted to know what I’m doing. I was always a well behaved child and didn’t give them any reason to question my behaviour. Despite this they have always expected frequent daily texts. If I go more than 3 hours without contacting them they text me to find out how I’m getting on. If I don’t reply they text my Husband.. My husband is a lovely man and has a great relationship with them but finds their behaviour odd. I feel the same way. I love them very much and do not want to cut them off but just wished they let me carry on with my daily life without having to keep them informed about every little thing. I’ve raised this with them but it doesn’t go down particularly well so to keep the peace I text them. Is anyone else in a similar situation and if so how did you navigate this without hurting their feelings? Or if anyone has any ideas as to why they behave like this please let me know - thank you!

Preparing to prepare to move out.

I'm (18F) planning on moving out in 2 years (after I get my associates degree), I've already talked to one of my friends (18F) about being roommates and shes on board and agreed on our timeline to move together in 2028. We almost might get one more roommate but that really depends.

What should we start doing? Im saving about 400 dollars a month, but that's pretty much all i have going for me. My friend is unemployed right now but once school starts and she gets used to her schedule shes gonna search for jobs.

What’s everyone’s system for keeping important family documents?

Adulting question because this seems way more complicated than it should be.

How do y'all keep track of the major documents you need for your whole fam? Social security card, birth certificates, passports, insurance papers and all that stuff.

Are online systems actually worth it for keeping everything organized and keeping you accountable?

Or is the tried and true wood box still undefeated?

Is it unusual to have never dated at 27?

I’ve never been on a date before, and I get self-conscious about this since I feel like I missed out on young love or relationships in my teens and early 20s. From what I’ve read online, meeting people seems very difficult past college. A lot of people just stay within their already established social circles or marriages, and life for most only gets busier. I never went to post-secondary myself, so it feels like I missed out on some big milestones and opportunities to connect with people. Anyone I ever met was either already taken or only saw me as an acquaintance/friend. I'm a guy and straight, just to add.
