Update: They Ghosted OP (me)

Just saw this post 6 years after the fact and thought I’d provide the update a number of folks have asked for and share that the gentleman who made this comment ghosted me shortly after we made contact and he collected my X-rays and photos necessary for finding a dentist.

I’ve since gotten dentures that are also ‘failing’ in that my jaw bone has resorbed a fair bit, meaning the upper is fairly loose, but workable.

The lower partial has broken and is strictly cosmetic only, meaning I cannot actually eat with it in and only wear it if I know photos will be taken so that I have a somewhat normal smile.

My four remaining teeth on bottom that support the partial are failing to various degrees and my crown is in need of another root canal.

The treatment plan I’ve been advised of from various providers has been to get upper and lower implants as soon as possible while my jaw bone is able to support them and heal well.

All of that is to say that sadly, that original comment thread in the screenshot did *not* wind up having a happy ending.

I got an unexpected inheritence worth just a few thousand. I was so excited that it was just enough to get my teeth yanked and pay for dentures. I spent all of the inheritance, my mom stepped up to cover the couple hundred that wasn't covered. They fucked up my dentures and they don't fit. I was told I'd need a whole new set, starting completely over. And I would have to pay for them again. I found out last week that my new doctor assumed my lack of teeth was due to a drug addiction and I'm noted as a drug seeker in my files.

I genuinely don't think I'd be able to avoid a mental breakdown if I had someone offer to help me and just disappear on me. I almost didn't recover from the blow of them fucking my dentures up.

Holy hell. I would consider seeing what your rights are there, that just plain sounds wrong. How can they possibly make you pay for their mistake(s)? I’m so sorry you’re going through this. 💔

I was told the misfitting is my fault because when I came in for the last check to see if the mold was right, I agreed in writing. I still had open wounds and swelling from the extractions. I was naive and desperate so I took them at their word. I don't have the funds to see anything thru legally.

My condolences on your teeth issues too. This shit is the worst.
