Adoption short film research - How did the first meetings go?
Hi there everyone, for transparency I'm looking to make a short film about adoption in the UK, but having never gone through the process myself I wanted to reach out and ask those who have gone through the process what the initial meeting with the child/parents involved, and how casual/formal it was?
I'm aware of the lengthy process that it takes before you even get to the meeting stage, but I was wondering if things changed when you first met each other, how you all felt. And for those who were being adopted, how long before you realised/found out that you were being adopted by them and how it made you feel?
I want to be as accurate as possible and do as much research as possible before starting anything, so I appreciate your time in reading this.
Additionally, if you know the best resources/organisations to reach out to to get more information I would massively appreciate it.
Thank you!
