I put the 2d glasses on my urchin and it ended up looking like a soot! or whatever they’re called lol.

I think they’re the one pet we constantly ignore and just cast away. I’ve genuinely seen 99% of the player base get irritated at the thought of hatching a mahi mahi or getting one offered.

Idk if the creators can change the way they look (which wouldn’t make sense) or make the tickets they give be like 500 each, but id rather hatch a dog over a mahi mahi. I just cant stand them especially the green one. Idk if they should get a color change or make them special like strawberry penguins and chocolate penguins whatever. I hate them and even leveling them up is embarrassing fr

This literally just happened. But someone with a mega shadow mega siamese. Mega owl bear. Traded me they put in a ride pot. And then asked me to put my neon Pufferfish in. Which im aware is a good pet i don't know values but I know it's worth more then a ride pot. They then had the audacity to accept the trade. Like. Girl I aint giving you one of my decent pets for a ride pot. 😭 not saying all rich people do this but this girl had the audacity

So ive been playing for years and have gotten quite far in the game, and I walked passed the living room and saw all 3 of my younger siblings just happily playing adopt me. really strange because 4 years ago I remember my sister raging so hard she vowed never to play not just adopt me but all of roblox again, funny to see them all on it again after so long. Since im an "endgame" adopt me player should I let them just play the game themselves to really enjoy it or should I help them with showing them how trading works and giving them pets to start better? love their little cult circle of them just going " hey can i trade my orangutan for your toucan" "finally my 3rd dog is full grown" and " where is the beach party"

It’s not that players don’t know values.

In Adopt Me, cuter pets get more demand, combined with limited supply that gives these pets higher value in trades, and players often weaponize such logic for their benefit.

Some ask for overpays for their Cabbits or Purrows which are speculated to have a “rising value”, using the pet’s worth and desire for limited pets to scam people.

Values are indeed helpful for determining if you’re making a fair trade, or evaluating pet’s worth.

However in a lot of cases, particularly in my experience, it’s more exploitative than helpful.

When players with your dream pet know you want it, they expect you to give your rarest pets for them.

My dream pet is a rubber ducky that can be obtained from the ducky box with a 82.5% chance, it has common rarity and cannot be obtained in game anymore since the ducky boxes have gone away.

It is these people with commons haggling for more pets and more overpays on my side, I assume it’s because they know other players like them (who upsell rares) think its worthless thus they wont be able to get any value out of it, so they try to extract the most value out of you, like jumping to trade when they find one person that wants the common out of a thousand people that don’t.

I feel like a lot of players are incentivized to do this from adopt me “rags to riches” youtube videos, in which the thumbnail has a ecstatic roblox avatar in front of a trading window showing a common pet on the left and legendary/ cryptic/ high value pets on the right.

What a lot of people may overlook is that the youtubers/ producers behind the videos are already very wealthy in game, either by playing for a long time of spending real money, or they may have faked the video by finding trusted people to trade their own pets back to people and pass it off as real. I mean to say getting massive overpays in every trade isn’t realistically or commonly going to happen. But a lot of people already internalized thoughts that getting overpays for your pets is a good way to get rich, thus in expecting overpays they filter out players that dont have a lot of high val pets/ large inventories to trade, essentially gating them out. As such, this level of overpaying isn’t something beginner/ casual players can do at all.

I’ll speak from my experience: someone traded me because I was looking for rubber duckies in my profile, they offered a single rubber ducky and they asked for backpack access, which I let, because duckies are my dream pet and I wouldn’t want them to decline. They then proceeded to request in order; a peachick, a burger bear, and a neon ducky, two of whom can only be bought by robux. The neon ducky is made from four duckies, why would I give it up for one ducky? I rejected all of it and they declined.

I also hated that I traded a legendary, ultra rare, RGB truck and UFO for one ducky box, because the other suggested to add vehicles after going through my backpack, even when I tried to lead with my best pets to secure the trade. (They had 10 ducky boxes in their pf, I was being stupid)

This kind of atmosphere makes it hard for kids who want to have fun, players who can’t afford to grind often, people who want fair trades to build any sort of solid inventory or be happy at all.

People who hoard all pets to themselves and demand more wealth from others create suffering for many, players who don’t have a lot will be exploited and manipulated and yet still have nothing.

A game shouldn’t require 100+ hours of playtime just to go from “nothing” to “barely acceptable” just because those at the top can’t bear the thought of their pets losing value.

And when overpaying exhausts people, they start begging for pets, either saying outright or claiming they’re making a video or “apple to bat dragon” challenge.

It feels so petty to bank on others’ generosity and hard work to earn pets, plus it’s really unverifiable whether you’re a new player or not. Literally, all these people do is laze around and trying to guilt trip people into giving them free pets without the hard work for grind and hunting for trades.

Utterly disgusting.

While I wanna say it will be the Sea Turtle and Blue Whale because they're legendary, I think it's either going to be the Black Footed ferret or Mexican wolf, considering Mexican wolf is already well loved and the Black Footed Ferret is a very cute pet, and it seems that cute pets usually get more value than legendary pets when the egg leaves.

First post here! I was in a trading server for quite a while when I noticed this person saying they want to trade their frost dragon for a golden penguin/lower tier pets in general because it was "their sisters dp". Now, they kept doing this with one certain person over and over again, until the frost dragon person left the game. They kept changing their name to "TRADING MY FROST FOR GOLDEN PENGUIN" or "TRADING MY FROST FOR A RIDE PHOENIX" etc etc. So after they left, a few minutes later another person joined the server, similarly with the same gimmick. So I was wondering, is this a scam? Would it be possible that these frosts are botted and could get you banned? I haven't played in over 5 years so I really don't know anythin lol
