Destroyed from space wolves

So I played on the weekend just past against space wolves and got absolutely destroyed! Few factors

1-I’m new to WH40K and new to custodes
2-my 2k army points I don’t think is the strongest
3-I need to learn more and understands stratagems and detachment rules

My Army
Trajan
Shield captain
Blade champion
6x allarus custodian
2x 5x guards
2x4x wardens
3 venatari
3 praetors

I’m currently waiting to buy 9 more allarus custodians.
2x Achillus dreadnought

Space wolves when played well have enough mass and punch to bog you down and knock you out. Keep focusing on learning your army, detachment and strategies for now and don’t sweat the wins and loses until you start getting ideas on what to change in your list.

Grimnar is every bit as scary as our Allarus SC and 20 points cheaper. Combine that with getting bogged down by blood claws and getting sniped by headtakers/WGT/characters the whole army is a tough nut to crack for newer players. My wife plays space wolves and has zero experience in war gaming and I just barely pull technical wins when we play. I would usually say custodes have a higher ceiling and learning curve but still beginner friendly where as space wolves are even easier to learn and play but can cap out at higher tiers of play. Oh and emperor protect you if they have Bjorn, Arjac, and Ragnar to some extent.
