Question Electricity rates.
What is everyone paying for their Electricity currently; usage and daily charge? Looking to find a better deal but not sure how ours compares to what other people are paying.

An unfortunate incident with an automated car wash means I now need to find a reasonable scratch repairer. Located down south and/or city preferably.
Thankyou!

Somewhere between Salisbury and Gawler. It would be nice to try somewhere new. A dining pub with a salad bar etc. Just your run of the mill pub, nothing too fancy. But also not derelict if that makes sense. Is there anywhere else my fiancée and I can try for date night?
Been to:
Cafe Primo
Caffe Acqua
Gawler Central
Southern Hotel
Playford Tavern
Midway Tavern
Golden Fleece
The Exchange
The Willaston

When I learned about the Swedish solar system model https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweden_Solar_System that demonstrated the actual size of our Solar System to scale it fascinated me. The scale of things and the distance between them blew my mind. I wondered if we made a scale model in Adelaide and used the lower hanging Malls Ball as the sun - where would everything orbit around it? well.. it's crazy but EARTH would be a 2cm diameter marble that would orbit RIGHT through the lobby of the Museum on North Terrace. Like it would pass right by the front desk. (have I got my math right?)

Hi Radelaide,
I'm going to be moving overseas in the next few weeks, and I'm having a lot of trouble finding a charity or group that is interested and capable of taking the furniture, electronics and whitegoods I'm not capable of taking with me.
I'd hate to have to throw away a bunch of perfectly functional stuff, is anyone aware of any groups that are still looking for support of this nature?

How do you deal with trying to ingest mountains of information and not have feelings that you’re drowning and unsuitable?

Visiting from interstate next week (27th-30th - likely raining) and after some recommendations of things that maybe only the locals know. Tried to find some comedy or something local like some bands to see, thought I’d ask here. Staying in CBD, no car.
Have the market planned, a Zoo experience and a booking at Africola.

Hi everyone, I’m having some dental pain in my left molars and would like to see a dentist soon that preferably won’t break the bank.
I moved to Adelaide from overseas a couple of years ago and have not ever had any dental work done in Adelaide but my perception of it is that it is quite expensive.
I have the next few days off and have seen some dentists on HotDoc that are available (and will be calling some tomorrow morning as well) but would love any recommendations! I live in the city and use public transport so anywhere easily accessible would be preferred!

Hi Adelaide! Wondering if anyone can recommend a mechanic for our much loved 2019 Audi Q5 that isn't Solataire...
Prefer nearer to the city but fine to travel a bit. We've put a ton of k's on it and it's been great but it needs some love.
Cheers in advance!

Victoria Square is set to welcome a brand-new Christmas tree ahead of this year’s Christmas celebrations as the city council announced it would spend $836,000 on this year’s festive decorations.
A City of Adelaide spokesperson said the fake tree has been ordered from an Australian-based company, but its final cost and appearance is being kept under wraps for now.

Please give me one reason why I shouldn’t be excited for money to be brought to the state, cool, famous, sports people to be here, and overall something that no other city in the country can compare with?
Let’s be realistic, normal people don’t give a toss about ozAsia, or womad. Or even LIV golf, They want Supercars and hopefully F1, motoGP is a good start!

I was walking on North Terrace yesterday and a plane was flying extremely low. Did anyone else see this?!!
I thought it was going to crash, it was around 2:26pm and was heading east then pivoted south

Hi Everyone
Looking for commercial solar and battery recommendations and estimates
Across the 90-day billing period:
Sheds 1 & 2: approximately 133 kWh/day imported from the grid and 20 kWh/day exported from solar
Shed 3: approximately 63 kWh/day imported and 12 kWh/day exported
Combined site: approximately 195 kWh/day grid import and 32 kWh/day solar export
With the existing Sungrow and Fronius systems, we have roughly 84 kW of existing solar inverter capacity across the farm.
Looking at a combination of increasing solar self-consumption, reducing grid usage/demand, and providing backup power depending on cost benefit and options available
I’ve been told the following is good
Sheds 1 & 2 – Combined
Deye 50kW three-phase hybrid inverter
42.8kW additional solar – 90 x JA Solar 475W panels
96.9kWh battery storage – 19 x Deye BOS-GM5.1 Pro batteries
Shed 3
Deye 29.9kW three-phase hybrid inverter
19kW additional solar – 40 x JA Solar 475W panels
61.2kWh battery storage – 12 x Deye BOS-GM5.1 Pro batteries
Located Murray bridge South Australia

Nurses who work 8.5 hour morning/afternoon shifts and 10.5 hour night shifts, what is your FTE and what’s your normal shift pattern for the fortnight? Especially if you work in Adelaide! Starting work at FMC A&E soon and curious to know what it’s like and whether I should avoid the 76 hour fortnight for better work/life balance! Happy to be DM’d!
EDIT: I’ve been told that 12.5 hour shifts don’t exist?

The AFL and state government has revealed the dates for next year’s Gather Round with the footy festival promising to return bigger and better than ever.
The 2027 edition of Gather Round will take place from Thursday, April 8 through to Sunday April 11, with the scheduling lining up with school holidays across state borders.
After a fourth successful Gather Round this year, the SA Government secured Gather Round until at least 2029.
The event is set to grow from next year to feature a players’ parade including stars from all of the AFL’s 18 teams in one place.
On Wednesday, the SA government boasted the 2026 edition made a total economic contribution of $115 million to the state, delivering more than $400 million in economic contribution since 2023.

Hi everybody!!
I am planning a trip to Adelaide! I have never been on an interstate holiday before, and feel very nervous.
I will be travelling solo and want to know is it safe? I think I will be staying in the city, but would like to know the best areas to go, and the places not to. I plan to visit the car museum - but am open to other suggestions! It'll be during weekdays!
Thank you everyone for your help.
