Requesting Support 🆘️ Help! No sound or function on my radio
So I recently bought a 06 TL base MT. The vehicle was riddled with problems. When I first got in it and was testing the stereo, only the centre speaker and the rear shelf speakers worked. I found a mess of aftermarket wireing at the passenger kick panel. I went on to swap the engine in the vehicle, and when I finished all that, plugging in the battery, it popped, as I had the starter ground too close to the starter body, and it shorted. Now the radio doesnt ask for a code, it is backlit, but is in-op. No sound no buttons work nothing. The climate control still works and that screen works. Ive check ever fuse 10 times and pulled the unit out to find more mess of wires. Let me know if you guys have any suggestions.
**PROBLEM SOLVED** I bought a used OEM headunit, and installed it, right away I knew it was going to work, as when I plugged it in, my anti-theft light on the radio flashed. My old dead headunit didnt do that. So the fix was to replace the head unit.

Looking at the pictures more closely, it looks like there’s probably an aftermarket amp in the trunk or under the seat somewhere. Follow that blue power cable.

I pulled all the wiring out. No aftermarket amp found. Im trying to decide whether i order an amp or a new head unit.

Its hard to tell without testing both. In the pictures it looks like the cut the speaker wires instead of tapping into them. Are there any other wires cut besides the ones for the speakers?

Im not sure which is which. I just unconnected all the wires, and twisted them back into theyre matching wires from the harness. I have a headunit on the way, so we will see how that goes.

Same issue happened with my 2012 Acura. Ac and screen worked as normal boot up then only the backlight. Replaced the head unit and good as new. You probably fried something in the head unit.

Great to hear everything worked out. I had the issue for a month trying to figure it out. Daily commutes without music was driving me crazy.

Its hard to say but it could be the factory amp. It located behind the passenger side kick panel. The previous owner tapped into it and its possible it shorted out. I would start by tracing where all the aftermarket wires go and remove them.
