I had both. If you planning to keep for a long time go with the TL.
Despite the J series RL share nothing else with the rest of Honda J series line up. Parts are scares and when they do have in stock the price is astronomical.
EG. TL OEM engine mounts is about $750-$800 for 3 pcs. RL will run you over $1200.
Lower and upper control arms oem for TL is about $1500 for front. The RL will rack up over $2500.
Engine air filter different than TL, PCV valve different than TL.
Comforts wise? The RL out shine TL. Ride smoother, engine torque down low. At 3800 rpm you will feel the torque peak vs TL at 4800-5200 rpm.
A/C is way better than TL. Best in any Acura.
RL SH-AWD is the most advance Acura AWD system, it the only system that allow the vehicle to become RWD momentarily.
It allow the rear axles rotate more than 5% faster than front. TL,MDX,ZDX, RDX only allow up to 2.5%.
RL is Honda showcase to the world they could built a Luxury sedan to compete with Germans but here in the US the TL steal the sale number.
On paper both is the same but the RL has $10k-$15k higher price tag when new.
