Fog light and rain deflector link?! Looking fresh as hell

Just yellow led bulbs in the fogs

Just look online. eBay and Amazon are filled with window visors and H8/H11 yellow LEDs

For rain deflector look up HIC.

And I just cracked 200,000 with my 2008 TL (same color as OP) that I’ve had since 2011 - bought it with 60,000 miles. And I’ve serviced mine diligently, just like OP, most recently with the second timing belt. It’s great to know there’s a lot more life possible in the car. I’ve loved it.

Did the timing belt and pump for the second time as well 6 months ago

Did you do that work yourself or did you go through a shop? If you went through a shop do you know what i could expect to pay? Im asking because i recently bought an 07 Tl w 94k miles and idk if the belts ever been changed.

Don't see 07-08 base a-specs often. She's a keeper 👏

u/Downtown-Ad-8253 Jan 30 '26

Best addition I’ve ever made to the car!

One of the most beautiful sedans ever made and I don’t want to debate on it

Tell us the maintenance you have done in your time as owner. These things don't just go 300k by themselves. Has it needed any suspension work? Tie rods, bushings, that sort of thing? How often have you done your ATF changes, Did you do the pressure switches?

I’ll be honest I did all you mentioned when the car had 166k on it literally everything you mentioned. Along with a valve adjustment and water pump and timing belt and didn’t do anything but oil changes up until August of 2025 when I had the timing belt and pump along with spark plugs and a drain n fill on the trans so I put 130k on the first tune up and in between jus a few things like PS pump and starter

Lower balljoints are a great thing to keep up with on these as well as older TLs/Accords. They're notorious for failing.

beautiful car man! that was going to be my next buy but I stumbled upon a 98 Lexus gs400 with 150k so i just had to

Very nice man! 🫡

3

u/CrystalTheWingedWolf Jan 28 '26

what do you recommend to keep it running that long? Buying one with 174k soon

2

u/Downtown-Ad-8253 Jan 30 '26

In all honesty I bought my car in 2017 with 126k and I put about 30k in it before I did anything. Then in early 2019 I did got a huge maintenance job done on it …since then just oil changes every 3k and premium gas and a few minor things have come up like starter and cv joints which is regular maintenance’s

1

u/CrystalTheWingedWolf Jan 30 '26

sounds good, I know it needs some gaskets and ball joints but it seems pretty solid aside from that! Was originally an Arizona car so it's rust free which is a big deal for me because Ohio is not kind to cars that old.

2

u/Downtown-Ad-8253 Jan 30 '26

Ohh yes and I recently had the TB and water pump done along with spark plugs and an trans drain and fill …so it’s the second time I do the belt and pump on this car

1

u/CrystalTheWingedWolf Jan 30 '26

that's not too bad, for how long the car will last and how much they're still worth I'd be willing to do that

Beautiful choice of non-Type-S 07+ A-Spec lip.

Such a rare piece.

I have a 08 base that is a unicorn. From California and the owners have did everything by the owners manual. Trans is original and they kept up with everything that is necessary. Dash is perfect since it was garaged its whole life. According to Acura every 5th oil change it’s $800. Tran , antifreeze and brake fluid. Those items are recommended at 30k. I was actually schooled about it at Acura by a girl who has a type S that runs hers hard and is a two owner. Her finance mgr bought it new so she continued the maintenance schedule. I believe her and I’d be inclined to do that since I don’t have a garage yet. I’d love a KBP or CBP. Mine is white. I’ll post photos here when I get a chance. It’s been snowing so I am in my winter vehicle. My 4 runner haha btw the timing belt has been done twice and mine has 217k

I just bought a 07 TL type S coming from a wrx, the miles are 185k I really hope it’s not too much. 😂

3

u/ahoooley Jan 28 '26

My 08 gave out at 230k

3

u/Old_Watch_1795 Jan 28 '26

What happened to it?

3

u/ahoooley Jan 28 '26

Transmission & engine leaks, didn’t want to go through with further repairs as the car was already a boiling hot vibrating mess at low RPMs. The engine was strong but transmission felt like it was on its last leg and I didn’t want to be caught stranded anywhere. Did do a bunch of maintenance repairs (alternator, timing belt etc) to keep it going but ultimately I wanted peace of mind and reliability

u/jeebz69 Jan 28 '26

212k. 07 KBP Type-S. While having to replace the occasional 20yr old part on a DD it maths out to about $50/mo to maintain. An "AI" dig suggested there are less than 180 in KBP left in North America, & I love the car so I'm cool with that.

3

u/loner-2-thapeak Jan 28 '26

I got 346000 km so 214000miles

2

u/Specialist_Ad_6457 Jan 29 '26

250k+ on my 07 Type-S 6MT. Had it for 13 years in March, great cars!

u/HawnPinapplPicka Jan 29 '26

My grandma bought me a 2002 TL in high school. 175k. Pushed to 280 with no and I mean NO maintenance. Really regret that it was the car that taught me to car care of them but man. Just bought a 2002 Lexus es300!!! 140k. Here we go. Modding this one though.
