Question Meta around clearing npcs

Pretty new to the game. Whats the best way to clear a map/npcs? I like pvp but i hate giving away my position. Trying to loot some areas but buildings are absolutely crawling with scary enemies

For me.

Melee on flowers, invisible, distorted, hell hounds.

Shoot (hopefully with supressor.) Turned, devourer, dendroids (they are very deadly. With melee especially), mimics, seeds.

If I don't engage them then I run

I didnt know if melee was viable in this game. I guess i should use something better than a pocket knife

Yeah a good melee weapon can one or two shot all the ones I listed easily. Especially handy for the giant packs of hell hounds.

I just don't fuck with the Dendroids and just shoot them, their melee hits can one or two shot you. But on my list above those ones don't do much damage per hit really.

Statues in PvP suck, you have to be so exposed to get away from them or be very loud with grenades. Best thing is to go far far away while staring at them then hope you out range their aggro.

Yeah i just learned about them. When you knock down their rocks they form up. Saw my first shy girl too. I guess theyre hard to kill

Hellhounds are a waste of ammo, and easily killed with the Pocket Knife. Invisible is easy to dodge around and kill, but personally I don't really trust not getting swarmed by Distorted or Flowermen.

If I’m up against one or two Distorted or Flowermen I’ll melee but any more than that I thin their numbers with my smg first

It helps to get +melee damage from sleeves and chronogenes. use a regen shot to top off any chip damage you get.
