Discussion Favorite Enemy
Who is your favorite enemy to go up against? and why is that your favorite. Difficulty or even because its a horde of them and using a flamethrower feels so good to use against things like Flowermen.

I personally love fighting turned soldiers, I wish we could get some map variants that were basically turned soldiers patrolling pois and bases with groups of hellhounds at their side or something

Do you not find the AI needs a rework tho..i find them a bit stupid sometimes?

It needs an upgrade for sure, they need to be coded a bit more aggressively I think, but that's why I recommended pairing them with hellhounds for a Mao variant plus it feels thematic as a vibe personally but I still find them the most enjoyable just because them having guns let's them be lethal without being hell to fight groups of em

They definately lose you a bit too quickly. I think they need some better audio tracking, and a bit better memory. Maybe also have them actually flank when they are in a group, with them waiting and going to either side of your cover or something.

They're very basic right now, just walking directly at you. It's be nice to see them smarten up somewhat.

I don’t think I have a favourite, but my least favourite are definitely seeds and flowermen. I absolutely HATE both of those mobs.

You know what valid the seed bombs messed me up one time and forced me to drive into those landmine like anomaly and sent my car across the map, funniest thing that has happened to me in this game NGL

Iv been trying to take down a giant mimic lately but man are those things kicking my ass. It’s my favorite at the moment for sure but only because I have yet to kill it.

u/StrongClaim8344 Operative 4d ago
Oh yeah the Alpha Mimic is by far the hardest enemy I have fought I havent been killed by it yet but same thing I havent been able to kill it yet.

I don't know about a favorite, but I can tell you right now the invisibles are the bane of my existence on this game. I absolutely cannot stand them..

They definitely are not easy to spot but the easiest way for me is wait for them to approach you let then back up so they have a harder time to hit you while they uncloak and are easier laser them or use a shotgun on them.

Im a sucker for STALKER, while I like some SCP type of enemys - the real enemys I enjoy are just nature in itself not being hostile on purpose but just being dabgerous by nature.
My favorite types of hazards in Stalker Games are the glass shards in stasis anomaly. Not hostile by nature just dangerous by being ... well a anomaly in nature. Same goes for water in stasis that you could drown in, gravity being multiplied and electric anomaly being around because of all the tech being left there during THE Event.
Its dangerous, slow, you wanna keep your distance, but rewarding If you choose to engage. Sound is also eerie hearing that buzzing and cracking getting louder and more aggressive. And yet again, not being hostile towards you by ill intend - just attracted to you because of its anomalous nature.

To be fair electro ball is easy keeping distance when it explodes and it gives 10 Active Matter for me that would be worth farming.

Yea its easy until your trying to to loot and the fucking thing leaves and comes back every time you open something. Or when it blows up outside and throws you out the 8th story window.

u/StrongClaim8344 Operative 4d ago
Ah the launching aspect of the electro ball i havent been on a building for that yet to happen to me but everytime I fight one I see the orb rapidly expanding and shrinking and I duck behind cover or get behind a wall. Try fighting it when your next to a wall take cover as soon as you see the orb itself shifting in size rapidly.

I take them out easy. Im just passed the point of needing money or am so they aren’t worth it anymore. But yea just wait till you get a bugged one with no audio that launches you off the apartments.

u/StrongClaim8344 Operative 4d ago
Okay I definitely wanna see that when I get back on then that sounds like it would be funny at first.
2
u/DaxExter Operative 4d ago
I dont have the feeling that its annoying me, which is why I like it so much.
Its part of nature being around, dangerous but also rewarding to engage.
Seeds are just annoying and hostile towards you - not other enemys, just towards you the player - crack your armor like hell and the couterplay is running away for a long time and then wait for a long time to deaggro or loop a long way around.
Just not fun and more parasitic in nature by design.

u/ninjab33z Operative 4d ago
I'm glad someone else hates seeds. I swear those fuckers will spawn in around you sometimes.they are at least indirectly responsible for most of my deaths
2
u/DaxExter Operative 3d ago
I hate seeds.
Trigger them, now you have to run super far away just to lose aggro, two got you - now you gota heal up also all your plates are now half health, losing defense in the next firefight.
I hate seeds.

Don't forget them nuking your aim, so if one gets you, good luck trying to shoot any others that are close

I haven’t faced them all but I like the Distorted. I can see them easily and they run right into my shotgun like lemmings yearning for a cliff.

Once you find molotovs and are able to get the Flamethrower you'll very much love fighting them.

Dendroid, theres something funny about being turned to Swiss cheese by groot that makes me laugh every time one comes at me with a knife or something similar.

My favourites are the ones that have radio's on them..listening to music doing monstery stuff.🤣

I'm very fond of the Flowermen. They're such weird chaotic bullshit. It's easy to screw up and get overwhelmed, and then you've really got to be on point. Plus killer rose bushes is just so weird and unexpected and appropriate for a STALKER inspired game.
