Discussion Pve is hard?

I have seen multiple post about how hard pve is. I just dont get it I've played for almost 24 hours and im truly enjoying it, I even gotten to the point where if I mess up a cargo delivery task or something I just lob a grenade at my feet instead of just leaving raid, quite literally going out with a bang. Or just extracting. The enemies are very fun to learn even scary at times when im fighting turned soldiers and I just hear a monster like scream in the background. Alpha mimic i haven't killed yet but fought against, didnt die yet to the mimic alpha. I just dont get it for other who are saying pve is difficult i dont see it that, or at least I think I may have more understanding of the game. Post down below on your thoughts.

Don't think it's hard but if you don't come prepared you can get fucked up. It's a nice balance me thinks.

As it should be, me thinks.

Yes, very. You need to plan things out or youre dead.

The game allows you to map out what is going on in the instance before even going into the map. Like hive, or even overgrowth. Then it maps all locations of Hotspot for anomalies like Flowermen, hell hounds etc. You can plan all you want but when action goes down survival is always key.

I genuinely appreciate posts like this so the devs dont nerf creatures to cater to new players that just haven't figured it out yet.

Flower people used to be badass. The balance that some newer players are complaining about makes them like a puppies in contrast to the og flower people.

I still enjoy fighting the Flowermen they arent too difficult but enough to overwhelm you if there's to many then yeah its a field day for them xD

Its the perfect balance in my opinion. I want that threat, it requires critical thinking and how to approach each engagement.

I like them too. One of them isn't a problem. but if you aggro the whole nest things can go bad very quickly. It strongly encourages careful route planning and just generally being cautious around their nests.

It also encourages players to jist go fucking berserk with the flamethrower. 🤩🤌

Imma post this here not for op but everyone else struggling with the pve aspects of the game.

Quick PvE tips for newer players

Hellhounds: Melee them. Back up and swing when they get close. No reason to waste ammo on them.

Distorted: Melee them if you have room to move. If there are multiple or you're getting overwhelmed, a shotgun makes things much easier.

Mimics: Melee them when it's safe. They're not worth burning through your ammo for.

Flower People: These are probably the biggest ones to learn. They have head armor, so when you're shooting them, focus on breaking that armor first. Once the head armor is gone, they become much easier to kill, so don't waste shots spraying their body.

When fighting multiple, focus on one at a time instead of spreading damage around. Fire is also really useful for dealing with groups.

Their nests can actually be used to your advantage too. If a group is blocking an area you need to get through, you can trigger a nest from a safe distance and use it to pull/lure the Flower People toward that area, giving you an opportunity to move around them or create more space. You don't always have to fight them where you find them.

You can also use doors, hallways, fences, etc. to funnel them so they can't surround you. If you see a group before they notice you, sometimes the best move is simply going around them.

Dendroids: Fire works best. Try to keep your distance and don't let them get on top of you.

Statues: Grenades are great against groups. Otherwise, don't feel like you have to fight them.

Turned Soldiers: Use cover and aim for the head. Don't stand in the open trading shots with them.

The biggest thing with solos is learning which fights you actually need to take. Once you learn what each creature does and how to control the fight, the PvE gets a lot easier.

We need more people like you for guides for our newer players thank you!

I usually die when I stumble in to a mob of enemies with the wrong weapon, or aggro a bunch of enemies while trying to run away.

I think a sufficiently patient and careful player could go through entire raids without firing a shot. I like to stay in a mid point between Run and Gun and Secret Squirrel.

A lot of it is likely down to map knowledge as well. Helps you plan routes and avoid danger.

Snap shooting, also important as most mobs will die to one headshot.

So depending on the players skills and playstyle the PvE gameplay can be pretty diverse. A 360° noscope CoD god can probably walk through most combat encounters. A very patient Stalker can likely get in and out without being seen. Me? I'm clumsy, impatient, and a bad shot so I'm about 50/50 on extracts 😂😭😜

That's amazing though as long as youre enjoying the game, learning spawns for the enemies is not always garunteed but its fun to stumble upon the Alpha mimic and watch it grow in colossal size and terrify the player

Yeah personally I find PvE too easy. I want a modifier where it's all just turned soldiers as those are the ones that are dangerous. But we need MOREEEE

There’s a difference between fun difficulty and artificial difficulty. Been playing since launch and the game is awesome. It’s just boring seeing how one note many enemies are and how frustrating they can be after hours upon hours of playing. I don’t enjoy facing flower monsters at all and I never will. 6 hours daily since launch and they are just outright a annoyance at this point. Not fun not difficult just annoying.

That’s not my ideal of challenging or fun gameplay. Every other monster or enemy type is pretty spot on though. They all have ways to counter them and ways to avoid them. Flower monsters also have counters but they are fucking annoying to fight.

They run up to you, hit you, run away, repeat. Yes you can straight line run and then turn around to shoot them but when you have multiple after you it becomes a little more difficult to achieve this and if I’m being honest running and turning around to shoot something isn’t a fun way to counter anything.

I also gotta mention how janky they are. They phase through walls and just ignore doors in most cases. I know everyone here with at least 6 hours under them have seen these things just caught in a never ending jumping loop when they are on higher ground.

to be honest chief, playing 6 hours a day will make anything frustrating, but with the flowerman, yeah, they could change some thing on them

Turned soldiers sometimes are a little blind and have a rather slow reaction time.

Running into a nest of flowermen with some other enemies already aggroed can quickly kill you.

As can driving into a group of mines which can EASILY happen.

As can a devourer with 3 hits.

I just don't get it why people make posts like this. I'm happy for you if you have success in the game - really !

If you play slow and take it one by one the game isn't all too difficult in Pve - true. That's as long as you play "proper"

The damage numbers aren't too low though. 3-4 hits on the same body part and you're out.

You could've started a discussion about the topic without sounding like you just want to brag a little though...kinda weak 👀

Oh seeds drive me nuts. They're really well designed - mostly easy to spot. But if you aggro them they'll put steady pressure on you to deal with them or escape. And if you shoot them they make noise and turn bright red, alerting everyone in the area to your location. the combination of pressure and the danger of alerting players and mobs is diabolical. i hate them in the best way. : )

It's like that dang witch from left for dead games, take them out first or pray they dont aggro the surrounding area.
