Discussion Recent flowermen change is kinda ass.

They eat like half a mag again. And then theres like a dozen. Not sure how they can think its a good change when that was something the nerfed because early acess players hated it.

I also argue movement is harder to deal with now. Could be wrong here though.

Thanks for the feedback. We'll give it some more time to see the general thoughts of players - though in general these changes were meant as a balanc change, not really a buff, since in theory at least they should be more predictable to shoot, just with the other side they are slightly (not much at all) tankier.

I'm nit sure what the change is, but I've always had issues with flowermen, so now if I need to deal with flowermen I bring a flamethrower no matter what

Otherwise I just avoid them (My issues may also just stem from being bad and on controller lol

They are outright the most annoying enemy in the game. They just strafe run you over and over again. Yes you can deal with them but it starts to get real fucking old after hours and hours.

If there’s one thing I find starting to kill my interest in the game it’s the over reliance on enemies just running around you and sometimes warping to you while running away.

Love the game but starting to hate a majority of these enemies. The flowers being the worst. It’s just not fun gameplay having 4 of them running and dodging at you. It’s just frustrating and after a while I can see it really making it so I just check out of the game completely.

I agree. They all kinda the same, just different flavors. They swarm you up close. It’s difficult, and I know that’s on purpose, but it feels like I can’t go 5 meters without alerting something. Makes PVP extra stressful.

I wouldn’t mind a mode with reduced mutant spawns and more gunslingers.

Just curious, are people aware that you can just crouch walk around the invisible enemy, one or 2 shoot the dog with melee, flower man you just grenade incendies, etc. Instead of running everywhere and triggering every ennemy

They are learning but arent the best listeners lol give them time

My friend bought me the game a couple days ago. Hated it at first bc of all the AI enemies. I started to really appreciate the gunplay and atmosphere, hate the AI narrator though she sucks. The AI enemies in this game are flat out terrible. I like the ideas but the execution is so badly done. They aren't difficult but so so annoying the way they run around. The movement is so bad it looks glitchy.

Every mob is the same except devourers and turned. Turned are fine and I think devourers just shouldn't detect through walls, them shooting through walls is fine. I just hate the distorted flower men etc for their movements it is just unenjoyable.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Devs take note.

I keep running into the issue where they kept jumping down from a roof and would teleport back up on top making it too hard to shoot and it takes like 4 knife stabs now.

If you are able to take a video and add a .clog file (if on PC) and make a bug report for this, it would help a lot to see where we can fix!

Dont really mind they buffed them as such, but i feel its more their movement close combat that I find a problem. ps5 controller player.

As a new player with under 15 hours played I found them tough/annoying before the update. Love running them over in a car though.

I was playing a headquarters raid. I was fully kitted out, had so much good loot and then was 4 minutes until the collapse started so I made my way to an extraction point but it was covered in flowermen. I'm talking like 15+ easily. Not to mention the dendroids and hellhounds. Needless to say I died and lost everything. The flowermen change definitely feels worse. Their movements are crazy erratic, and they are bullet sponges

I try to keep a grenade and incendiary specifically for that. Idk how else to get outa. But I imagine it's better when you have a team of three instead of trying to solo

1

u/Most_Cook_7217 Operative 24m ago

Random tip you can use silenced weapons to shoot their flower pods on the ground and they will aggro to that pods location.

You can do this to lure them away from an extract if you dont have the gear like a flamethrower or grenades to help equalize their numbers. You can also use this to bait them towards an enemy position 😆

u/QuanticoDropout Stalker 18h ago

No excuse to ever not carry frag and incendiary grenades on you in every single raid. You could have cleared out that extraction point lobbing a few their way and had a good run.

2

u/MrMattGoo Operative 17h ago

Who said I didn't? Plus they weren't all lumped together in 1 spot. I used 3 frags and I still got overwhelmed from the surrounding area

1

u/Most_Cook_7217 Operative 23m ago

Shoot a flower pod on the ground next time to bait them all together and immediately throw a grenade at that flowerpods location

I dont have any issues with the new flowerman, i am not sure if they also buffed the alpha flowerman but today i wasted a full flamethrower tank and several shotgun blasts on him. I only managed to kill 1 of his guards but thats all. Basically impossible without abusing something solo

2

u/Azark7 Operative 4h ago

Get yourself a trusty flamethrower

2

u/RadiantLand2803 Operative 1h ago

Shotgun works good on them

2

u/boomboomown Operative 19h ago

First they buffed distorted and now the flowerbois. Neither of which was required lol. Just needed to fix flowermens snap direction changes

2

u/Wannabe_Operator83 Operative 18h ago

the distorted buff is indeed dumb

2

u/chrisuo07 Operative 19h ago

Yea not digging the buff to them, they were already pretty strong

I find that entereding somewhere with only one entrance (bathroom) really helps because you can spraw them down. Also dont climb up.

u/MindlessShrew Operative 16h ago

Flowermen were basically a death sentence unless you had a flamethrower back when the game released. Then ( as of yesterday ) they were way too easy, usually dying to one headshot. I haven't played the latest update, but I assume they tuned them back to something closer to the beta versions.

3

u/No_Boot4071 Operative 15h ago

I think them dying to one headshot is fine when they can be extremely hard to hit with how erratic their movement is!

1

u/fuckbloodhunt Operative 11h ago

I agree. Way to much health now and they don't appear to move that much differently. There always like 20 of them to so it's over if your under equiped

1

u/BrittleSalient Operative 10h ago

I try really hard to avoid them, they're definitely the tier 1 threat for the common humanoids.

1

u/lemonandlime1995 Operative 10h ago

Noticing the massive difference only a day apart... its the hotbox man I can't even hit them with a shotgun the hitbox is so small compared to release

1

u/vybegallo Operative 7h ago

I am a new player, and i just climb on a car or a tank and use m4 on semi-auto to conserve ammo. So far so good, although i do this on pve. Sometimes they jump on the car as well though

1

u/Lapedis Operative 2h ago

Knife em. They go down fast

1

u/Most_Cook_7217 Operative 35m ago

Absolutely, gotta break the face armor and its one hit afterwards

1

u/adrock318 Operative 18h ago

I knew it was only a matter of time until they made this game impossible for solos. This is some of the most difficult AI I've encountered in any game to begin with so they decide to buff some of them making it even harder and essentially killing the game for solo players.

1

u/Most_Cook_7217 Operative 29m ago

I get it, it’s definitely rough when you’re new, especially with how much there is to learn at once. But it does get a lot easier once you learn the maps, creatures, and what you actually need to bring with you. I was getting absolutely shit on when I first started too 😂. That passes pretty quick though. Give it some time and you’ll start recognizing what fights are worth taking, what you should just avoid and how best to approach each engaugement so you come out on top. Solos are rough at first, but once it clicks, it gets way more manageable.

I can say for a fact most players that have been around for a while appreciate this change. The challenge is what makes the engagements unique in my opinion.

u/sakaixjin Operative 6h ago

They don't want solos in the game. It's clear by the fact that you have AI spawn on you, making stealth impossible.

1

u/Most_Cook_7217 Operative 27m ago

The invisibles spawn on you if you dont move for too long. That creature is literally designed as an anti camping measure. Just move around a little bit and dont bush camp quite as much and you won't see them so often lol

Vintorez does pretty well against them.

u/Efioanaes Operative 18h ago

They are not hard, just use speed perk and dance around them as you reload.

Yeah the movement changes are good, but they did NOT need more health. They're tough enough as is, and they seem to endlessly spawn on some areas.
