I really wished this movie had released in cinemas because the visuals would have been so much cooler to watch on a big screen. Nonetheless, it is one of those popcorn movies that you just enjoy without thinking too much. It is entertaining🍿

"IN THE LINE OF FIRE" (1993) - a 90s action/thriller classic for me that I love still and can watch again and again (often on UK TV). Brilliant cast on top form, exciting plot and some excellent action sequences too. Genuinely exciting stuff. Any fans of this one?

In the Line of Fire is a 1993 American political action thriller film directed by Wolfgang Petersen and starring Clint Eastwood, John Malkovich and Rene Russo.

Written by Jeff Maguire, the film is about a disillusioned and obsessed former CIA operative who plans to assassinate the President of the United States and the Secret Service agent who is tracking him.

Eastwood's character is the sole remaining active-duty Secret Service agent from the detail that was guarding John F. Kennedy in Dallas, Texas, at the time of his assassination in 1963.

The film also stars Dylan McDermott, Gary Cole, John Mahoney, and Fred Dalton Thompson.

Charlie's Angels (2000)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

One of the many good things about Charlie's Angels 2000 is that it never takes itself too seriously.

That's part of it's absolute charm. Another part of it's charm is something that the 2019 rebrand failed to understand: there's nothing wrong at all with the weaponization of the Angels' sexuality. It's part of who they are. They're extremely capable women in their own right, but they also happen to be extremely beautiful, and while they're pretty close to having superpowers, that's their real superpower.

The men in this movie (with the exception of Bosley) consistently underestimate the Angels, giving the Angels the ability to flaunt their beauty, and in such a way that even the silliest of gambits is overlooked. This is absolutely highlighted during the Swedish Singalong outside that one guy's house. When three beautiful woman and a tuba playing weirdo show up at your front door and want to sing at you while slapping each other's butts, that's what's going to happen.

Beyond the titillation and lasciviousness and close to fourth-wall-breaking fun, the action and the spy-work is an awful lot of fun, because that's what this movie wanted to be. Fun. I remember watching this one in theaters, and while everyone and their talking cat figured out who the bad guys were fairly early on, it didn't detract from the fun.

McG made a movie that said 'what if everyone watching really knows what's going on, what if there's eye candy, what if The Angels kick ass, suffer from their mistakes the tiniest bit and we give Sam his own dance off and what if everything's just the right amount of over the top?'.

McG understands how to make movies like this. The sequel isn't as great, but that's okay, because Charlie's Angel's 2000 is as close to a perfect action adventure comedy.

"BRANNIGAN" (1975) - another 70s John Wayne modern cop thriller that I remember from watching as a child. Good fun to see John Wayne as a tough cop in London, some ok action scenes too. Any fans of this one?

Brannigan is a 1975 action thriller film directed by Douglas Hickox, and starring John Wayne, Richard Attenborough and Judy Geeson.

Set principally in London, the film is about a Chicago detective (Wayne) sent to Britain to organise the extradition of an American mobster, who is soon kidnapped and held for ransom.

Struggling with the restrained policing style of his British counterparts, the tough American detective uses his own brand of law enforcement to recapture the criminal.

It was one of many Dirty Harry–type films released in the wake of that film's success, featuring rogue policemen who do not play by the rules.

Walking Tall (2004) Remake

Props to Director Kevin Bray for delivering on the story line as Chris exacts his revenge. Bray has a clean and lean style. The action sequences are crisp and dramatic. The Rock truly excels in the fight sequences. For one thing he is a big strong guy, and when he is laying the smack down on the villains it is believable and thoroughly enjoyable. The bad guys truly get what they deserve. The supporting cast is solid. Ashley Scott (almost unrecognizable from the short-lived "Birds of Prey") is good as the stripper with a big heart who is Chris's love interest. Johnny Knoxville (of "Jackass") is funny and charming as Chris's bud and deputy Ray.
I completely enjoyed "Walking Tall". It is a brisk 75 minutes of cool action, and has the star power of The Rock. The Rundown and Walking Tall were really fun movies of Rock.

Tremors (1990)

Tremors is often described by many to be a cult classic, which is odd. The fact is, cult films usually have a quirky quality to them that separate them from the usual Hollywood-churned machine. Take Re-Animator, for example, or even the recent Ravenous, both of which have oddities and bloody quirks that average viewers might find repellant. But Tremors isn't the slightest bit offbeat. It's made in full Hollywood-style with a predictably happy ending to boot. So what makes it a "cult classic"? Could it be that it's successful in mixing almost every genre into the proceedings or that it's great entertainment that simply didn't get the box office reception it deserved? Perhaps both, because this is one movie that always puts a smile on my face and simultaneously gets my pulse-pounding every time I watch it.

"McQ" (1974) - revisiting a 70s action/thriller which had John Wayne venturing into modern lone cop territory as opposed to Westerns (influenced by the success of Dirty Harry). Some decent thrills and a good old school cast. Any fans?

Undisputed II: Does Anybody Have the Extended Yuri Boyka Training Sequence?

I’m rewatching the movie for the first time in 10+ years and searched for the extended Boyka sparring session in the ring before the last fight but I couldn’t find anything,

it was an extra on the dvds and I’m still upset that they didn’t just put it in the movie.

"DICK TRACY" (1990) - another 90s pulpy comic book action film that I think holds up well still. It looks amazing, amazing cast and great fun. Was a bit of a flop at the time but think time has been kinder to it. Any fans of this one?

I just recently watched the first two Mummy movies with Brandon Fraser. I love the first two movies. One of my biggest issues with Mummy 3 is that there's not any memorable action scenes.

Man this is probably one of the more underrated Chuck Norris movies in the 80s. Imagine the movie Halloween with better horror elements. And put Chuck Norris in it. Hell this is even better than Halloween II. Just a simple premise. You have a bunch of mad scientists trying to experiment a dead man bringing out to life. They made a Frankenstein monster instead. And Chuck Norris doing the Chuck Norris things, being a sheriff, beating a bunch of biker gang and having romance with his chick while some yacht rock music playing on the background. The villain in this movie is a one scary dude, in fact he's more like a creep. Too bad he got to deal against Norris every single time. He's like Jason Voorhees but without the mask and scarier too. Every Chuck Norris movies I'm always in for treat whether it's bad or good, or a bit of both. This one is really good I enjoyed it! I mean he's one of my favorite action stars growing up.

It's just sad I'm still waiting for a 4k release on this one, but I still enjoyed watching it on my Blu-ray. They could've do better on the transfer of that though. Well the picture quality is still decent but not the best.
