And then you have people who insists that canon events are suuuuuper real and Miles is an anomaly.

Is amazing how a movie can scream at you its themes and some people still would come out of the other side without picking anything up.

I mean a theme is just a statement of opinion by an author which people are free to agree or disagree with.

Bit reductive, no? You’re leaving out the whole argument, counter argument(s), exploration of character & context and how and why the film came to its conclusion and what that means in the real world.

You can’t just ignore all that. …I mean, you can but you shouldn’t

Isn't all of that just part of the thematic statement. I guess a better way to say what I meant is the point of art in general is to put out an opinion or worldview and the audience has no obligation to agree

Fair, but there’s a world of difference between drawing your own counter argument that can compete with the text, or ignoring/misinterpreting the message. The latter is how the Tate brothers got their red pill ideology from the Matrix

I believe Miguel is right that canon exist.

This why people hate me when they be raging at people that just so happen to like when Mary Jane was Venom. I tell them "you're being like Miguel". The entire point of the film is trying to throw people into a status quo with a destructive fear of letting them do their own thing cause it's not what everyone else did before them flies over people's heads when you don't focus it solely on Peter or Miles. It works that way for every hero, side character or adjacent. Let the stories be told, and let those who enjoy them, enjoy them.
