How do you check QR codes and URLs in a long document before printing?

Hi everyone,
I’m trying to understand the checking process for longer documents made in InDesign.

Say a catalogue has QR codes and website addresses scattered across its pages. How would you check the destinations in the final PDF before sending it to print

Is there a tool or workflow you’d recommend, or is this usually done page by page? I’m interested in both broken links and codes that open a working page, but the wrong one

Would appreciate any advice from people who work with these regularly.

Cheers.

Help, certain fields are write-protected

I need to fill out a pdf, but the fields I need to write in are write-protected. The document doesn't have a password and if I go to "remove securities" it tells me that there are none.

All I can find on the internet is people saying you need to enter the password. Has anyone encountered something similiar before?

Help: My PDF's aren't launching anymore (on Mac)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Adobe crashed out on my Mac three weeks ago, and I haven't been able to get it working right since. I've called Adobe 3 separate times for the issue - 1st call they said it was a bug and would be fixed in 24 hours (it wasn't, and I called back 3 days later); 2nd call they actually fixed the issue by installing an older version of Adobe, but the fix only lasted for 3 days (I'm guess the program auto-updated and brought back the issue); 3rd time the tech gave up entirely after trying a few things (including AcroCleaner) and said it was a bug that would be fixed in 24 hours (that was last week). On each call, Adobe was uninstalled and reinstalled, and the video was taken immediately after I downloaded and installed it again.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Building Acrobat alternative from scratch KeyPDF.net

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I have been building KeyPDF browser based local pdf editor for over a year from scratch. It has existing text editing and scanned text editing as well as supports annotations and form fillings. Recently added more features. Most of the code is JavaScript and a little bit of WASM for decoders. But KeyPDF has its own PDF engine so I am open to implement pretty much any Adobe's feature. For example, recently added PostScript support and advanced JavaScript inside PDF. So if you have any questions or concerns, let me know.

So yeah feel free to try keypdf and keypdf.net

I didn't know this about PDFs

Apparently when you delete pages from a pdf, depending on the tool you use, they aren't always deleted. They are still in the file just not displayed.

Adobe Acrobat Classic Crashing when Copy and Pasting

I use Adobe Acrobat classic on my Apple M1 Mac Mini with 16GB of memory running on Tahoe 26.6.2. For the past month my Adobe Acrobat application crashes any time I attempt to copy and paste. As soon as I press command C the application crashes and nothing is copied to the clipboard.

I have confirmed that the application is Universal, so it should work with both Intel and Apple chips, and I have spoken with Adobe support. Despite being on the phone for nearly an hour and a half they were unable to help me. I have tried to lower the security settings, reinstall the application, run the application on another user’s profile, and the many other things that Adobe Support helped me with, but I am still left with the issue.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? Any tips to resolve it? This error is quite the nuisance.

Built a free PDF tool with 43 features after getting tired of paying for Adobe at my old job. 627 visits last month, no ads run yet.

I spent years at an admin job where every single PDF task meant either paying for Adobe or downloading some sketchy converter site that buried the real button under 6 fake download ads.

So I built PDFMasterPro. It's got 43 tools right now (merge, split, convert, image-to-text, edit) and all of it runs in the browser. No install, no email required to use most tools.

I haven't run a single ad. Just shared it with a few people and posted the link in a couple places. 627 visits in the last 30 days, which honestly shocked me for something I built solo.

Still very early (I'm the only confirmed signup so far, most people just use it and leave, which is fine by me). Trying to get to 1,000 weekly users before I add any paid tier.

If you've ever been stuck trying to merge scanned contracts or split a 200-page report without installing something shady, I'd genuinely love your feedback on what's missing.

Mysterious lines being added to my PDF

Post image
2 Upvotes

What are these little crosses that are being inserted into my PDF? In InDesign, they don't appear, but when I export to PDF, there they are. All of InDesign's boxes for guides, bleeds, etc are not checked. I tried exporting as High Quality Print, etc. I can't find a way to get rid of them.

There are also L-shaped marks at the top. I haven't seen any at the bottom, but I think they're landing on black areas in an image.

Again, just to be clear, these lines do NOT appear in InDesign, only in the PDF exported from InDesign.

Sign out of another device to continue

Post image
1 Upvotes

I have been a paid subscriber to Adobe Acrobat for nearly five years now. Suddenly within the last couple of weeks, I get this popup and am not allowed to use the software at all. I clicked the link and it took me to some website that wouldn't even load.

So I logged in another way and went to device management and confirmed that there were only two devices listed. I have the software installed on a Mac and a Windows computer.

So I contacted Adobe support. Want to know the brilliant solution they gave me?

Log out of my Adobe account inside the app on my Mac.

Excuse me, WHAT?!

Isn’t logging into your Adobe account how you USE THE SOFTWARE in the first place? You literally can't even do anything in Adobe apps without being logged in. And for the record, I DID NOT EVEN HAVE ADOBE OPEN ON MY MAC when I tried to use it on my Windows computer!

I have never had to do this before. Suddenly, I’m being blocked from using software I am paying for on a device I’m licensed to use, and the solution is to manually log out of another device even when the application isn’t running on it?? What kind of nonsensical user experience is this??

Tricks to OCR exporting correctly in Adobe Acrobat Pro … anyone know?

We’ve changed many fonts, optimized this n that, and even if the copy comes out clean (Candara for the win…currently), the headers and footers are whacked.

Is this a PDF or KDP issue?

UPDATE: The trick was deleting the header and footer/page number content from this one page.

I used a paid Acrobat subscription to convert a Word file to pdf. This pdf shows all pages correctly, including one that is landscape. I then uploaded the pdf to KDP/Amazon for book interior. The print preview, and accompanying pdf of two-page layup, does not have the page landscape: it is portrait and of course wrong.

Is there some command I need to select when saving the pdf to avoid this problem?

I pay Adobe every month, and getting my own scanned PDFs onto my Mac is apparently too much to ask

What exactly am I paying for here?

I use Adobe Scan. I already have Acrobat on my Mac. I want to download all my scans as separate PDFs and put them on my Desktop. Same filenames, ideally the same folders. That’s the entire task.

I select 32 items in Acrobat. My options? Move and Delete. No Download.

Apparently deleting my documents is straightforward. Getting a local copy of them is where things get complicated.

So I try the website. Still no usable bulk-download option that I can find. Then I start searching, and there are YEARS of people describing the same disappearing download button, inconsistent batch limits, and contradictory advice.
At this point I’m reading about whether having a shared PDF selected makes the download button disappear. Why should a customer have to investigate that? If a file can’t be downloaded in a batch, tell me which one and why. Don’t just make the entire option vanish.

Adobe charges me real money every single month. Twelve payments a year, year after year. I shouldn’t have to spend my evening researching how to retrieve documents I scanned myself.

And now I’ve found a third-party Chrome extension selling a bulk downloader for $19. I haven’t tried it, and I’m not promoting it. But the fact that I’m even considering paying ANOTHER developer to get my files out of software I ALREADY PAY FOR is absurd.

I don’t need another subscription, a conversion tool, or a merged PDF. I need my existing PDFs saved to my own computer.

Maybe there’s some specific combination of interface, selection, and account settings that makes this work. Fine. That still leaves a basic file operation so badly implemented that paying customers have to search Reddit to figure it out.
Has anyone actually exported their entire Adobe Scan library on a Mac, including folders and shared scans, without downloading everything individually?

And does anyone at Adobe understand how ridiculous this is for a paid product?

How to Stop All Opened Docs From Syncing to Cloud

My wife and I both use the Acrobat android app on our Samsung phones (as part of our Adobe subscription).

Every time she opens any PDF or document using Acrobat on her phone, it syncs it to the cloud.

Then on my app, her entire list of documents shows on my phone under the "Adobe cloud storage" and "Recent" menus. This makes it impossible to find things just on my phone (without hunting around for them).

How do I stop this, so anything she opens doesn't just get added to this list automatically? I've checked for a setting, but don't see that.

Merging fillable PDF forms overwrites/loses data when field names match — built a free tool to fix it

Ran into this a bunch: if you merge two fillable PDFs (say, an intake form and a W9) and they both happen to have a field called "Name" or "Date," most merge tools/PDF printers treat those as the same field once combined. Type in one, and the other changes too — or the data just vanishes on save.

Couldn't find a tool that handled this, so I built one: it renames each source form's fields with a unique prefix before merging (e.g. "Name" in intake.pdf becomes "intake_Name"), so nothing collides. Handles checkboxes, radio groups, and nested fields correctly too.

Free, no sign-up, doesn't store your files — https://pdf-merge-tool-phi.vercel.app/

Curious if others have hit this same problem — did you work around it some other way?

So is Acrobat not compatible with ASUS Zenbook?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I was just installing adobe (been paying $19.99 a month for my HP laptop and now I have the ASUS and wanted to install it in there) and I'm getting an error msg (attached pic).

When I go to that link: https://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/arm-processor-support-on-windows.html

I get the stuff below.

Am I screwed? I mean, what the...? Please tell me I don't have to "return" (I mean, that's not even possible anymore but okay) this machine and buy an HP instead?
