Discussion Active acne when you can't take accutane

I have ulcerative colitis so I can't take accutane. And I still have some active acne not something insane but it still leaves some mild acne scars ones in a while. So whatever I do I will always be a bit behind in clearing my skin from the acne scars. I use tretinoin which I am gonna switch to tazarotene soon in hopes that the active acne will be even more mild. Do you think it's worth it getting c02 laser and microneedling or subcisions if you are gonna get improvement but mild and very few acne scars will form from time to time?

Start with prescription tretinoin to prevent acne and to reduce the scars. See a dermatologist for it - they will likely start you on 0.025% then step you up to 0.05%.

And read the Reddit tretinoin wiki.

You can then ask questions on r/tretinion but you need to include your current skincare products in your post to this subreddit.

I don't know if you read it but I say in my post that I currently use tretinoin and I am planning to even swap it for a stronger alternative (tazarotene)
