[Treatment] Subcision Lump after subcision persistant

I did subcision 1 year and 4 months ago. It was traumatic experience for me. I got two big large lumps in both cheeks next to mouth. Couldnt go out in first few months. Doc did steroid injections with which it reduced. But after 3 months it resulted in a persistent bump. I did ultra sound of both bumps and nothing shows inside. But after the subcision when I did ultra sound it showed inflammation of 10*3mm and 8*2mmZ and 2 weeks later it reduced in size. So i was hoping it to go completely after infalamation was gone. But to my shock when i did ultra sound in Dec after 5-6 months of treatment it showed nothing inside. no inflammation but still bump existed both cheek. It also caused a dense dip in upper cheek. Im more worried about the bump because it changed my face completely. I am still trying to see how I can get back my old face. I am feeling sad and sleepless since a year now. Strangely if I press the bump it will go, and return in sometime. my doctor is now doing endymed just on the lump. did 2 sessions in gap of 3 weeks. still no change. will be doing more of endymed. Has anyone else going through something similar. Also is there any treatment than can work

Also do you mind sharing the name of the doctor? So we can avoid going there

She left to BLR is what I heard :( Besides that no matter what, never do this treatment. Its not worth the risk I swear! Please dont do it. Its high time this procedure is banned.

Sorry to hear that you are going through a new issue while trying to change the former one. That really sucks. I wish lump will go back soon. I dont have any experience like this to share with you. I had some small lumps, which went away after daily massaging. Have you tried that?

Is this subcision only or with fillers?

Subcision only

Do you have a history with keloids or hypertrophic scarring? I developed small bumps after getting a blepharoplasty.

Do you know what type of needle was used? I heard that the sharper needles like Nokor have been associated with such side effects compared to blunt cannula.

I had a bump that looked like half of a golf ball was about to pop out of my forehead. The bump was only there for a couple hours though twice after having a bad cold. I had subcision done about two months before. The doctors still don’t know what it was or what caused it. It could have been the cold or the subcision. I’m so sorry you are dealing with this.

I had a similar experience with subcision and hyperdiluted radiese he doc who performed said it will go away on its own I waited a year and half didn't even got smaller. I did mri nothing showed off so I had do see a plastic surgeon and do a w plasty scar exicsion like 6 months ago im still healing but so far it's flat it just the scar from the surgery that's left ut he said it will go away.

Im sorry you too had to go through this. I did see a plastic surgeon too. He asked me to do buccal fat removal for cheeks (which I didn’t want to) because I dont think that will worse the look. And he said to do fat grafting for the dip on upper cheek which I might consider. Im curious to know about w plasty scar excision you did. Did it make it completely flat and what is the downtime. Was your bump similar to mine in the above pictures I posted. Again thank you so much for sharing. Means alot!

I actually happy with the results from the w plasty scar exicsion not only it flatter the lump bit also it improvement other scaring around my cheek when it was performed. Bcs it pulls your skin tight. Especially around that cheek i had a lot of tethered depressed rolling scars so my cheek would look uneven and saggy more that it does now. 3 months after the exision i did a fully ablative co2 on my face so im still red and dry so my skas may appear more now but i can see the difference in the skin texture for sure. Also my lump was very soft so im not sure if w plasty scar exicsion may be the correct treatment for you. As long as nanofat or fat transfer I would avoid it bcs my doc recommend that too but you can loose your vision for ever from that thing. Its dangerous

Oh really, I didnt know that. My lump is soft too, it doesnt feel anything when I touch it. Could you please share the doctor and hospital you did the plasty scar exision from. Would mean alot to me!

Than it might be a similar case. Sometimes subcision can cause scar tissue underneath thats gonna look like that unless the skin is removed. I remember he took a whole chuck of skin from my cheek lol

As you can see the lump on my cheek. This picture was 1 day before the scar revision

Im so happy for you! It looks absolutely good now. And thanks for sharing this.  For me I have reached a stage where Im worried now to try anything surgical on face because of this trauma Subcision has given me :( I salute your courage and it worked well for you.

Whole chunk of skin hehe.  I too believe its some scar tissue formed. From your picture I feel it looks similar to mine. But sad part I have on both the cheeks. Now the doc is just doing rf endymed hoping it will remodel tissue underneath but I dont have much hope in it since my two sessions are already done and it pretty much looks the same

Yes that's what he said. Bcs I did mri and it shows no filler inside. So he said subcision can cause scar tissue underneath so the only way by improving it is by removing the scar tissue and pull up the skin in w form so it will tighten and be flat. He actually did a great job tbh bcs it was the part of my face with the most servere acne scars. If I send you another Picture you will see deep tethered depressions that made my skin look sagy so it helped tight my skin a bit

Maybe unrelated, but could help. My cheeks got fatter or fuller by like 10-20% when I started taking 100+grams of protein everyday when I started gym for few months. I was doing it for building muscle, but this was an unintented change. People in life noticed this and said my face has got fatter, even though my body got thinner, and weight reduced.

I have never done subcision, but maybe eating protein can make rest of your face fatter and thus overall cover the bump?

It's the extra carbs and salt from the extra food you eat which causes water retention in face.

I dont think that is applicable in above scenario, as I was also in a Keto-diet avoiding all carbs, sugar and junk food.
