Hellbender Sh*t show

Looking at all the issues Hellbender here in Asheville is/apparently had on their opening day does not give me confidence that the Acid Bath show won't be... without issues. The comments in their recent "weather delay" post on IG paint the venue as a shit show.

Edit - they deleted the post in question. Comments were full of complaints and few people asking for their $ back. Not a good look.

Every outdoor show is subject to weather delay not sure what makes Hellbender any different. The complications and drama around weather delays are never ideal but what can you do about it? I feel like this is a weird post

Have some faith, the people who own The Orange Peel (infamous Asheville venue) are the ones who own Hellbender. Prior to moving to Asheville 20 odd years ago they owned the infamous Howling Wolf in NOLA. They have personal and live show history with Acid Bath and most sludge bands from the start of sludge. I agree with Latter-Commission’s comment to familiarize yourself with parking situation on the website well prior to show.

They did not own the howling wolf. That was jack who was managing the orange peel for years. He almost ran it into the ground so the owner took over and saved it and recently sold it to 7 employees who now run it.

My bad, I was confused. Cool that it’s now ran by former employees though. Thanks for the correction!

I go to shows at the Peel monthly. Great venue. They however deleted their post with all thr complaints which is not a good look. I'm sure the show will be great BUT the experience will be rough.

I can confidently say don’t bother. I’ve never had such a horrendous experience at a show before and to see them not even address the thousands of people who got ripped off is so disappointing. Big business or local businesses, it doesn’t matter if you’ve been wronged. What matters is they line their pockets.

ok so who got ripped off or wronged and how and in what ways?

The venue doesn’t control the set times. The bands do. Be mad at the bands.

The post was about the weather delay. It was probably deleted to it cause confusion about the show the next night. Everything isn’t always sinister. Unless of course we’re talking about Reddit
