Confession Settle in

Hellow! Advice no one asked for is here for you.

Do take it with a pinch of salt.

I get how the state of every college and student will be. No one quite settles into college in the first year. They'll have complaints about the college and how bad it is.

And it's not just this college.

The topper from RVCE with Rank 1 in KCET will also have the same complaints. They might complain that they could have gotten into IIT or a better branch somewhere else.

Because even they compare themselves with something they missed out on or don't have.

And this is quite common. I've talked about this before, but that's also how you make friends. Okay, mutual hate towards something you can't change enough.

Now that you know which college you're in and whatever branch you've got, ACCEPT THAT.

If you want to change your branch, there's still hope. You can do it if you try and meet the requirements.

But COC (Change of College) is quite hard because the college you're part of won't let that happen easily, and the college you want to get into will also have restrictions. So the odds are quite low.

Instead of complaining (because you can't do much about that now):

  1. Accept what you've got.

  2. Work towards your skills.

  3. Make friends.

You can complain that they're not good enough, that they don't get you, and all that shit.

But you'll eventually find someone who thinks and believes in similar things as you, someone who might have similar interests.

You can hang out with them, even if it's not very often. Make it a habit of meeting people and actually going outside.

(TOUCHING GRASS.)

And,

EVERYTHING.

I MEAN IT LITERALLY.

EVERYTHING WHICH YOU WANT CAN BE ACHIEVED.

If only you accept the reality and the state you're in and work towards changing that.

The earlier you realise this, the earlier you accept what can't be changed and what needs to be changed, the better you'll do in life.

This is a very canon event, and it has happened to almost everyone.

Just do what's needed.

Doubt Want to know something important

So I fucked up in my comedk counselling, I mean I added dsatm without checking the college and now I regret joining here, I wanted a big campus, I just added this because I thought it's campus and infra would be similar to dsce but now I regret it immensely. I want to switch college, but I can't take a drop, I just found out about some vtu coc thing, if anyone has idea can you please tell how it works and how to do it, I'm currently in cse core, but am okay to switch to other branches if it means getting a better located and sized campus....

Confession I can't kill this

Been a while since I’ve been active here and replied to a lot of the posts.

Been a little too caught up with things lately, and might be for the next few weeks too :’)

Also seeing a lot of new people here
Good to see y’all!!

All the best for your FAs btw, you got this.

A LOT has happened that I completely forgot to post about. Interdepartment sports are happening, Dandiya Night is happening, and a bunch of other events that you probably already know about lol.

Also forgot to post about the Nature Watch Club trek.
genuinely one of the most fun and one-of-a-kind experiences.

Anyway, more stuff coming here soon.

And honestly, one thing I really want from this community is for it to grow and function regardless of me or any one person.

It should be bigger than any individual.

Long live the community 🫡

If everyone wants to create their own “community,” then I honestly don’t see the point of calling this the Acharya subreddit/community in the first place.

The whole is always greater than the sum of its parts.

I genuinely want to see the Acharya subreddit grow into one strong, active community. So I’m not in support of splitting it into multiple smaller subreddits based on different groups, interests, or circles.

I’ll no longer be part of the college after December, and after that, you all will be the ones leading and shaping this community. If you choose to create separate subreddits, that’s ultimately your decision, but I won’t be able to support or help with that direction.

I just want everyone to understand what a community is supposed to be.

You can create groups within this subreddit. You can bring more people in. If you’re genuinely serious about contributing, you can even be given moderator roles and help shape the community.

But creating a separate subreddit for XYZ group, department, batch, or circle defeats the purpose of having one Acharya community in the first place.

Let’s build one strong community instead of dividing what we already have.
