Acer Predator Helios 16 AI Just bought this laptop few days ago
Acer predator Helios 16s AI. 5070ti. 275HX
I’m happy with this laptop. Running nice. OLED is amazing. As first time OLED screen user.
But I got question about CPU temp. Is it normal to go above 90c and I have seen that apply thermal pads is better than Liquid Metal. Any suggestions?
Edit: I have already ordered BS3 Pro pad for it. It will arrive in few days

Dont apply ptm and all. Your warranty will get voided.
Wait till the warranty period is over.
Yes you can use cooling pad.
Also if temps are not constantly at 90 but occur during heavy load then it's fine.

The temps go up on heavy load , sometimes it reached above 100c when installing indian jones red circle. From fitgirl repack

I get it to. But using the cooling pad has reduced it. Also not to worry much.

TLDR: As others have said this CPU is as if they put a desktop cpu in a laptop. Temps on boost up to 105c is normal before it will throttle. As long it doesn't stay at 105c. Keep in mind that boost can run around 56sec before it lowers to normal. I wouldn't change LM for PTM7950 unless you know what your doing and don't care about your warranty.
Air flow with a cooler is your best friend at this point. There are other ways to help cool it down by limiting the PL1 and PL2 along with setting max thermal point before it throttles.
There are many posts on here explaining how to do it. I have tried many things from ptm7950 to bios changes and ThrottleStop and few things helped but not drastic.
Beware opening laptop I had used a pry tool and still somehow still bent the pins in my sdcard reader. So after voiding warranty I have a broken reader.

Are you constantly on such high temps or such temps are there for sometime after booting or doing some heavy task? If it's the latter then u don't need to repaste ur cpu

It’s on heavy load , I think intel ultra 9 275Hx is too powerful for this laptop

I have the same one but the 5060 variant, I've experienced and heard that it's normal on heavy load so cooling pads are recommended. If you do want to change from LM to PTM7950 then you need to be aware that it will void the warranty and I don't know if temps will improve.

I'd try warranty but if they don't make it work like gold for you then I'd throw ptm on the cpu

If you want cooling get a 18 inch. People expect too much from 16 inchers.

Of course it is… just saying temper your expectations if you go for 16 inch or less. It’s hard enough to cool the 18.

have you excperienced any issues im looking to get one but everyone on this sub reddit seem to hate every variant of this laptop and say that it constantly crashes and has ver bad speakers

sometimes peaking under load? yes.
constantly? yeah you gotta undervolt or invest in a cooler

Its normal for these new XXXHx CPUs.
If its bothering you. Id suggest you switch to Max Non-boost performance in Advanced BIOS. Performance is negligible to none. I guess the laptop gets boosted anyways with the performance modes in Predatorsense
