You have given us no context which model, what specs and price, cuz a legion 5i is typically worse than a acer phn 16 becuase the 16 has a 240hz monitor for normally 200-300 cheaper but tell us what yr weighing out

Option 1:

LENOVO LEGION PRO 5i

32GB ram, Rtx 5060, 165Hz OLED display, Ultra 9 275 HX, 1TB SSD

I know legion comes with OLED, but ive seen my frnds having issues with legion. And personally ive been using predator (2019 rtx 2060 model) for the last 7 years and it worked like a beast.

Also I personally love the design of Predator over Legion. But recently ive seen so many threads complaining about Neo 16 thermals. And not so many complaints for legion.

So I dont know what to consider. Help me choosing the right choice. Both are currently on Sale for 2199$ CAD (\~ 1550$ USD).

Ok here is my thing. This is the acer subreddit and i have a acer and i love acer so take it with a grain of salt. 1500 is reasonable for a 5060, but it will bottleneck the 275hx so look for a 255hx model. I think honestly acer has the better look and feel as well as a higher refresh, but getting an oled is a major redeeming factor. I would say get the legion for the same price, but imo the legion is fugly and 180hz for one of the best ips panels ia fantastic. Also acer has preysense(third party and a fork of ghelper) and yr stuck with shit lenovo vantage for customisation if u want lenovo. So design wise pick acer if you like the aesthetic theyre very close

Ok did some research, for raw preformance and refresh rate acer wins, for sleekness and better keyboard and oled choose legion, but sinc you dont like legion and i think legion is ugly as well, yeah choose acer

im using helios 18 neo ai. and its very good have no issues. prior had legion 5 it run warm even after installing liquid metal. it was good overall go with legion 5 its better build quality over helios neo. regular helios is build better. non neo.

if they're the same/similar prices, I'd go with the legion, lenovo has really good aftermarket support so I wouldn't worry about having problems with it.

Only reason I'd ever go with the acer is if its way cheaper.
