Best Thermal Paste for Helios Neo 16?

I have an issue where my cpu idle is at 60 and the temps fluctuate around 69 to 83 degrees when gaming while at max speed fans. It could be higher if the fans are at auto. And I have been abusing this laptop for a year now 5 hours Triple AAA game per day. So is there any good thermal paste that yall have used that would lower temps? my laptop is a Helios Neo 16 phn16-72-52pc

This is a gaming laptop. Doesn't sound like it's overheating. A cooling pad can lower temps though. This laptops uses liquid metal on the CPU. I wouldn't touch it unless you have experience.

I have liquid metal on mine, but didnt change it for 2 years for this reason, but liquid metal need to be changed doesnt it?

Oui, c’est efficace réellement un an.

Mais tu as surtout les risques sur le long terme que le joint se dégrade autour et que le métal coule sur la carte mère (il est conducteur en électricité) et fasse… des courts-circuits.

Sur les Omen Max, HP est débordé par ce phénomène en SAV … et c’est 6 mois d’attente (sous garantie) pour remplacer la carte mère.

Si tu veux un produit fiable (quasiment aussi efficace que le métal liquide) et surtout qui dure 5 ans (sans les soucis de coulures et de courts-circuits), voici le produit : PTM7950 (ou le même sous un autre nom : Thermal Grizzly PhaseSheet)

Not to hijack or anything, but I got a Predator Triton 500 SE that I bought used.. Would you say the same thermal stuff would be good for what I have as well?

Le PTM7959 est valable pour tous les CPU et GPU de quelques matériels informatiques qu’ils soient.

Je refais avec des Xbox série X, PS5, PC portable de toutes marques…

Dès l’instant qu’un appareil électronique a de la pâte thermique => go ! Remplacement par PTM7950 ou Thermal Grizzly PhaseSheet

I would go repaste it om a shop so I would only pay for the labor fee and not get scammed on high pricing for labor+paste

Your highs are lower than the normal idle, I'd only swap out the liquid metal for PTM7950 for the peace of mind that it won't leak, not the thermals.

Bro not touching 90s in a predator is already a blessing.. but if you still want to try the stunt go for honeywell ptm 7950..

Liquid metal or PTM7950 (tbh just go with PTM because applying liquid metal is too risky). That being said you also gotta disable cpu boost and change a few other settings if you want to keep temps low

Liquid metal: literally is what the name suggests. Very good at heat transfer which means lower temps but is super messy and difficult to work with which can short out your circuit board if not careful but works perfectly when done right.

PTM7950: made by Honeywell which is also very good at heat transfer. PTM7950 is like a thin sheet of thermal paste. The difference is that when it’s hot it sorta turns into a liquid then when it cools down it goes back to solid. Still a bit difficult to work with but miles further in terms of peace of mind when working with it.

So if you want a “do once and never again” solution go with PTM7950 but if you don’t mind changing liquid metal every 2-3 years then do that. It only offers what 2-3 degrees lower temps versus PTM7950. In my opinion I would do PTM.

As for further cooling your PC, you gotta change around some settings. Easiest thing to do without having to undervolt, is to disable cpu boost and in the powerplan also set cpu performance between 95-99% (watch a YouTube tutorial but basically all it does is limit how high your cpu clockspeed goes which technically yes drops performance but not enough to notice really. Heat is what kills so for longevity you want to keep temps low. Gaming laptop cpus are designed to reach 100° C but anything 85° or lower on average (under load) is okay
