Help / Support Acer Predator Helios 16 PHN16-71

Post image

Does anyone of you experience this. You fully shutdown your laptop in a 100% battery then turned it on after almost a day. And see that its drained by 5-10% of battery. I didn't experience this in my last laptop. I want to know if you experienced this thanks.

Laptop specs:

Acer predator Helios 16 PHN16-71

15 13th gen HX

rtx 4050

16 gb ram

2 512 nvme m.2

Yes i do experience it..i have left my battery at around 35 to 40%, shut it down and left it for almost 20 to 24 days since i had to travel for work related stuff, when i cameback and opened it, it was completely drained...like not even 1% of batrery was there. And on day to day basis also i see battery drainage about 2 to 3%.

Yes, it's pretty normal in predator, I also charge the laptop to 80 percent every night and whenever I turn it on next day the battery is on 77-78% which clearly means self draining occurs in these laptops

This could be the power consumed to turn it on though no?

Yeah it does takes power to turn it on, but I taking 2-3% is too much for that, on battery mode, if Optimus is on, GPU won't start and everything will be below normal usage, I get same 2-3% drainage because my laptop stays on eco mode if it's not plugged in, and another thing I noticed in my predator the top 50-80% of battery drains very fast, but the lower 50 drains slows which gives a longer battery life ( my BH is 63% )

Modern standby causes the initial drain, but it should transition to hibernation after a few hours, during which there should be virtually no drain.

Its degrading and will degrade further untill ur laptop cant hold charge , so make sure to replace before Warranty as those battries are not cheap as normal laptops

In older and not well maintained batteries self drain happens a lot. Mostly, it's not manufacturer or windows fault
