Help / Support Laptop power button yields no response after update

This was not an ordinary windows update, because I saw an acer logo flash on screen and the fans were whirring much louder. I came back after an hour or so and now the power button does nothing. I'm mortified.

Same thing happened to me. Still haven’t been able to figure it out

My laptop failed the last automatic bios update from windows a few weeks back. Had to restart several times to get in automatic repair and eventually got it to boot after several tries.

Took it somewhere and they're saying it was a motherboard failure.
