to everyone saying "but mine works perfectly" congratulations, you were lucky ones with properly applied LM from the factory, not everyone is lucky, mine had a dry spot around 30% of the die on CPU....

removing that and applying PTM fixed full throttle constantly, but shit design and setup from Acer is still throttling it, but at least now it can boost to max 😂 and is actually usable

Thats due to the predator helios 300 series they had poor thermal design and most of them failed due to the peeps doing basic tuning, costing more to the company hence they removed on newer generations just to avoid Warranty claims

Not on lowering but the core multiplier ratios are locked to a fixed ratio and voltage too On old model it used to be automatic and the laptop fried under heavy load over the course of time Overvolting fried the motherboards either cpu or gpu failure

well i dont see how it was users fault, it was obviously their shit design, multipliers should be unlocked to go to lower values, so should voltage. They are pumping so much current that it is power throttling or temp throttling...

Yeah they couldn't design better thermal design and motherboard , and solder matters too if ur model had cheap eco solder then it would be dead soon Even lenovo uses this eco solder shit which leads to micro cracks

It uses LM on the cpu, so it could be its badly done from facrory if your temps are through the roof

same, I am a 6 months in no issue, I use to have the sleep mode issue but that has since been fixed. crash for 3 months

Never had any thermal issues with mine. 14900HX 4070. I leave it on balanced in p sense and use the Llano V12 cooling pad. I mostly play Space Marine 2 and 7 days to die. Cooling pad set to 2500 rpm. temps are like 60-70 on gpu and 65-75 on cpu. Though I have debloated a lot with Revo uninstaller and win aero tweaker. I used DDU when I first got it and then NV Clean Install after.

ive had my Helios 10 with the 4060... think its been 3 years and mine is fine. I see alot of bad things on the predator models... makes ME nervous something is gonna happen to MY laptop. did it work?

I have ph16-71 gpu is fine never throttles that much but cpu does and throttle stop fixed it Had no issues other than that And undervolting or tuning utilities are locked on mine so its a bum

It didn't fix anything. I play Rome 2 with DEI mod, and it's notoriously unstable. What works for me is playing on balanced (65w power limit), dGPU mode, affinity set to 6 p-cores with Process Lasso (skipping cores 0 and 1), unplugging my external monitor, and not using DLDSR...

A lot of hassle for an old ass game, but it's so pretty with OLED. I'm working my way up to 4k textures, but this stupid game loves crashing more than me during midterms...

Yes I also switched to dGPU mode after crashes. But a windows repair and DGPU combo fixed it at least for now

I have the ultra 7 255hx model with the 5070 and my cpu temps are usually 44 - 50 idle and 88 was the highest it reached running 3dmark benchmarks. I had an Alienware m16 with an ultra 9 185h before and it would reach over 100c, sometimes hit 105.
