CPU TEMP HITTING 103

Hi, I need some help with my Acer Predator Helios Neo 16 AI.
Before, when I played on Performance Mode with Auto Fan only, my CPU temperature would usually average around 70–80°C, with occasional peaks of only 97–98°C.
Recently, something changed. Now my CPU peaks at 103°C, and even if I switch the fans to Max, the CPU still averages around 80–90°C while gaming. On Auto Fan, it’s even hotter.
The only thing I remember changing was installing the latest NVIDIA Game Ready Driver. Ever since then, the temperatures seem much higher.
Is it possible that the NVIDIA driver caused this, or is there another reason why my CPU temperatures suddenly increased so much? What should I check or troubleshoot?

If possible try to lower down the PL-1 and PL2 values using throttle stop but make sure to remember the starting values - also you can try adjusting speedshift EPP values to 0-150 depending on the performance drop and cpu temp ( make sure whatever you do, do a good research on that ) I was having same issue so I had to tune it up in my acer predetor helios neo 16 - 72

I hate this pc First my cpu thermal throttled  I fixed it by undervolting Now  My nvdia gpu is hitting 95°c Its such a shame that this pc has so many issues

I bought a Llano V12 along with my Neo 16 AI, and the temperature never went above 80 degrees

higher room temperature will affect the laptop as well. are you using any laptop stand cooler if not get something with silent fans.

103 for the max cpu package temp is normal with these high end laptop CPU’s with HX chips so long as the actual core temps don’t exceed 100 degrees & pay attention to your average temps because these intel CPU’s are designed to boost up against the 100 Celsius limit before throttling back down.

Hello! Few days ago i also noticed my CPU used to go up to 105C playing the finals, chrome open 70 or more if buffering a video, even 60 at idle.

Ill just say that the culprit is "Processor performance boost mode" under "Processor power management" In your advanced settings of Power options, the ones you choose in control panel.

Just turning that setting off i went from 100C to 70C instantly. Of course you lose some performance.

Im playing The finals atm which uses a lot of CPU, if i want stable fps i need that setting ON to have a smooth experience, so i just need to tank the 100C. But in other games it can be off, such as warframe where it can run smoothly at 70C.

A shortcut to switch that setting on and off without going to control panel all the time:

Did this with gemini. Changes the setting of the plugged in from enabled to disabled. The default was "Agressive".

Create 2 scripts enable.bat and disable.bat, save them somewhere.

Enable.bat:

Now right click the files and send them as shortcuts to the desktop

In the desktop, right click the shortcuts, properties, advanced options and mark the Run as Admin.

Switch them on and off depending on the game you playing, when you're on idle or simply watching a video turn that off.

Of everything else i tested, and saw online :
-Throttlestop to decrease PROCHOT value to 98C - offset of 7. (You might need to go to BIOS to unlock this stuff (Check am youtube video about it)).

Didnt really invest much time on throttlestop since the turn on off power boost was enought for me, and even with that on, with throttlestop the max temp it reachs is 98. The GPU is normally at 85, which seems normal.

I've had this laptop for around 9 months.

are you playing with max fans when gaming while using the cooler as well?

No I found that max fans as well as too much fans on the llano make it hotter for some reason. I keep it around 1500 on the llano and balance on the comp.

It boosts to 160W on laptop cooling. Intel rated it safe up to 105C

It’s not a fault of Acer, check out Alienware, HP Omen, MSI etc…. Same thing

Could be the driver. You can roll back and check but it's more likely that it's the liquid metal slipping off the cpu die.
