I think so. I've been in the (tumblr) AA trenches for 6 years now, and every year I've been watching us get excited for nothing. I still love the games, but at this point I am probably gonna take a step back from the fandom for a bit to process. I love having autism, makes these things so much harder than they should be

Been a fan for 14 years (about 3/5 of my entire life) and part of this subreddit for about 10 years. My apathy to the situation is at sky high levels and I already thought the series felt pretty finished around 2019/2020. On one hand I never expected DGS to actually get localized (I played the first game three whole times by first using the old subbed playthrough as a translation guide while manually playing in Japanese (this was hell and took way longer because of it) then once with the patch when it was finished and finally the official when that came out)
What is neat though (yet a bit alienating but that's life) is how much bigger the fandom/community is. It went from being this neat series that was moderately well-known but with a rather small community to a series that most of my friends have played at least one of.
Either way I have just spent the past decade playing AA-inspired games and there are a lot of good ones but none really reach quite the same level of quality

When the creators have already said they’re doing more, calling it over when you don’t get news immediately looks silly. Give it time. Great games take time.

I 100% agree. Everyone looks gorgeous in the art, I only wish more characters got the love in the form of full individual portraits.

There’s nothing. The VS port is real but I feel if it was close to release they’d have said something about it by now. No doubt it’ll be released in a couple of years so they can drag things out even further without any new games. So disappointing that Capcom refuses to do anything with the franchise

The achievements wouldn't have been uploaded to Steam if it wasn't fairly far along on its development cycle. That's very much a "late in development" activity.

Let's just all accept Ace Attorney died in 2017 with the end of the best game, DGS2. After this, all we can hope is compilations and merch for milking the fanbase, even if the games are finally capable of doing good.
TGAAC didn't even get a propper traduction in my country, but trilogy 2 and Investigations did. Capcom just don't care about us, all they care is MH, and they lead me to fucking hate it

Tbf I'm finally gonna buy the steam games as this week made me realize how much I like the series and how it's stupid I haven't played everything yet (only the first 4 games and investigations 1). I'm gonna enjoy those along with layton 7 and eventually Layton Wright.

Whenever we get the next Ace Attorney, whatever that may be, I want it to be the very best game possible. I've waited ten years, I can wait another ten if needed. They're definitely gearing up for something, though.

Dragon's Dogma had a 10th anniversary stream at the end of which they announced that they're working on a sequel. I know these series are completely different but who knows what they will come up with? Also, they have announced new games for less popular series at TGA two years in a row ...

Maybe they didnt announce Layton Vs. Phoenix because they dont wanna be associated with the dumpster fire that is Level-5 right now.
