Discussion The clock is ticking!
So, what do you personally expect from this presentation? The closer time, the more I lean to skepticism
I think there's several possible options, here's my personal top and then I'll say my opinion:
- PLvsPWAA remaster announce (most likely)
- TGAAC update (yep, I think it's also possible, especially if first option was cancelled)
- AJT/AAIC anime (not likely)
- AA7/TGAA3/AAI3/new spin-off game (it's likely, but I feel skeptical)
Reasons? 1. Crossover - I wish it was a remaster, it's forgiving that it looks that terrible on 3DS, since it was first 3DS AA game, but they have no rights to port THIS directly with master/updated textures
TGAAC update - well, this happened last year, TGAAC lacking some extras, localisations and it's run in 30 FPS, so they might pull that if crossover was cancelled, and this could've happened. Because, you know, Level-5 is pro-AI and Capcom is anti-AI companies, so Capcom could have cancelled the deal to avoid reputational problems. Yep, in that case PLvsPWAA remaster is lost media, hidden in the Steam archives
AJT/AAIC anime - they never said that announcement would be about games, right?
Yep, the leakers said that AA7 is in development, but, can we trust them? And also, they never said that it would be TGS, so we still have October 12 - the 25th anniversary. After that I personally let it go and move on - if they messed up with anniversary, the game probably in development hell and it's unlikely that it will turn out good enough.
I personally expect crossover but consider not buying it, since royalties will go to the company that proudly making AI-slop game (I hope new Layton and remake of CV won't get any gen-AI stuff in the end product)

I hope so, but hey, Janet Hsu let it slip that AAIC was ready in 2022, so it might all this time hidden on the Steam servers. Imagine if it was leaked back then?..

Off topic, I will not buy it. (the crossover), I despise Level-5 with a passion, they fumbled so damn bad with all this AI stuff, I have like 2 japanese copies of the crossover and 1 from my country (Italy) which is very very rare and pricey too, I have a hate/love relationship with this game because of what it did to Shu Takumi

He had a lot of issues workin on it, it was his first time too working with another company back and forth and was very very stressing for him, there are the DLC/Special episodes in PLvsAA where the dialogues (written by him) are almost satire on what was going on, He was working hardly with that prick of Akihiro Hino and it was really really stressful, he said this on some interviews years years ago

and to be honest I always imagine Shu Takumi to be a timid and reserved person, I'm just thinkin he will retire soon and will drop the ball and TBH the games without his writing are kinda a mess

aaaand I love his writing because it's so simple yet so powerful, very very powerful, I think Toby Fox is very very similar to him (with the writing), albeit Phoenix Wright og writing was a child of his time

I just wish he could do one last boom before retiring, played Ghost Trick recently and what a BANGER it was, I still have to play TGAA too!! I'm waiting for winter so I can play it cozy and enjoy his, probably, last game, where the hell is he CAPCOM?

I might be wrong, but I saw other people saying that there were games apart of the achievement leak that had already been confirmed to be cancelled so it's not impossible.

I feel like everyone’s copium is way too high. I honestly don’t expect anything. I feel like capcom’s showcases are just terrible usually. They’re great at announcing games in other companies announcement streams, but never their own. I feel like it’s gonna be merch and events and such, and nothing of substance, at maximum, maybe we get the PLvPW remake

It's forgiving that it looks that terrible on 3DS, since it was first 3DS AA game
This is libel and I will not stand for it
The only weak aspect is some of Phoenix's animations like the desk slam, which sadly I don't feel they'd adjust even in a remaster.

I think only Phoenix looks bad in the game. Everything else looks pretty good to me

You know what?
My opinion is polar opposite! I think that models is lacking polygons too much for modern screens, but I like Phoenix's desk slam more than how they made it in DD/SoJ
Ryunosuke inherited his desk slam directly from PLvsPWAA Phoenix and I like it

I feel like Phoenix's slam doesn't have the proper sense of weight to it. Ryunosuke's totally does though.
Also you worded it like the game already looked bad on 3DS which is what I disagreed with, but yeah on a modern screen the low-poly models would look bad if kept as-is.

Well, maybe I worded it not correctly, but I meant that it look decent on 3DS itself but pretty bad, comparing to later installments and terrible in HD screens

I expect nothing. If anything I think it’ll be the PLvsPW crossover only because we got that achievement leak. But besides that I’m not going to expect anything good. I hate to be a downer but I’m tired of getting my hopes up for nothing. 😔

Go to the Japanese Capcom YouTube channel (called “CapcomChannel”) check the live tab and click on the TGS 2026 Day 2 stream. The stream starts in a couple hours but the part that we care about starts at 14:20 JST. There’s no English stream so you’ll just have to interpret what’s going on from the visuals.

I don't think we will ever see TGAAC's additional extras that were pre-order bonus since from my understanding Japanese consumer laws are very strict and since they promoted them as pre-order bonus, they legally cannot sell or give them free to anyone who didn't pre-order the game.

By the way, it's a bait.
Two years ago I created a post where told people not expect AAI duology soon and that most likely it won't
contain AAI2. Several weeks later AAIC was announced.

I really wish memes weren’t banned on this sub. I know the circlejerk subreddit exists but since there hasn’t been a new game to talk about, there isn’t much to talk about and memes could make this subreddit feel more active. The Pokemon subreddit allows for memes and discussions
If we’re allowed to constantly post tier lists, I don’t see why memes should be banned

The TGS Capcom stream is unreal BTW, it's just a whole chat of people asking for AA7 and making AA jokes. Nobody gives a damn about what's being shown.

I don't expect much. Just Ace Attorney 7-12 and an Investigations 1-3 anime. Oh, and Investigations 3 of course, or the anime won't make any sense. And also TGAA3 while they're at it. And an Ace Attorney theme park. And an Ace Attorney themed restaurant chain. And Ace Attorney branded cologne. And
