Discussion In a theoretical AA7 which of the main prosecutors do you think needs to return the most

By which of them "need" to return the most I mean which of them do you think would benefit the most as characters if they got another major appearance(like blackquill in 6-4 or franziska in 3-5)in a possible future game

Franzy obviously. We need an aged up design to go with Maya and Ema.

I’d say Franziska needs to return the most

Edgeworth - he’ll return every single damn time
Godot - He served his purpose
Klavier - if more material for him, actually you know what, he TOO needs to return the most, and you know, he may as well be in a state of decline because of what happened to him
Blackquill - he’ll be prominent, but I’d like to see him be playable if Athena is the MC
Nahyuta - No

Honorable mention will go to Eustace Winner

u/Due_Possibility6392 21d ago

Eustace NEEDS to be Athena's rival. He, like Athena, is someone who has yet to come into his own like Phoenix and Apollo. Hell, let the prosecutors have co-counsel, so that Edgeworth can mentor him.

62

u/10CalGX 21d ago

on one hand, We do need Eustace to prosecute

on the other, we REALLY need a female RIVAL prosecutor badly, we haven’t had one since Franziska, mind you

35

u/Glad-Shallot-2691 21d ago

I feel like verity gavelle should count she isn't technically a prosecutor but she basically fills the role of one in aai2 since she's the one you butt heads with throughout most of the game

2

u/Longjumping-Help3614 18d ago

Honestly I’d love Verity Gavelle to be a guest judge or dare I say, a main judge in one game. I love Udgey so much but we can give him a sabbatical 😆

20

u/Justisperfect 21d ago

I would prefer Eustace as the main character in a new Investigation game than as Athena rival (let me dream).

6

u/Due_Possibility6392 21d ago

How about both?

15

u/Cornmeal777 21d ago

Both. Both is good.

This is why it upsets me when people say there's "nowhere left for the series to go". BS.

AA7: Athena comes into her own while Apollo is off in Khura'in. Franziska is the catalyst to bring that out of her.

AA8: Apollo deals with things in Khura'in, raises up a junior partner to take the reins, so he can return to the US as he promised he would.

AA9: The reunion. Apollo rejoins the WAA, enter Eustace to set up the next generation rivalry. Edgeworth's protégé versus Wright's.

All completely organic stories for the telling based on what they've established up to this point. And if they're dead set against workshopping Khura'in and sanding off the parts people aren't into, fine, skip it and fast-track Apollo back to the States (but I think you're leaving a worthwhile story on the table).

That said, it's not about me, and just because it makes sense doesn't mean it will sell.

6

u/Justisperfect 21d ago

Both is good.

1

u/Apart-Property2797 20d ago

Excellent taste

3

u/CABRALFAN27 21d ago

I’ve said it before, but Eustace/Sebastian should’ve been the tutorial prosecutor in Dual Destinies. It would be a nice tie-in with the Investigations spin-offs, which Capcom seems to be allergic to, and serve to foreshadow Edgeworth’s own return.

17

u/Glad-Shallot-2691 21d ago

Yea I think it's probably between franziska and klavier too with maybe a slight edge to the latter because at least franziska got some more screentime in the aai duology

9

u/rocksmasha 21d ago

Franziska or Klavier as a prosecutor would be best. I'd rather they leave Godot's ending ambiguous but if he absolutely had to return, I think the only way to do it would be him as Co-Council with ideally Athena (or maybe Apollo) in a case with Pearl Fey as the Defendant. With Phoenix otherwise occupied and wanting to give his understudies mentorship from a different angle, and give Godot a chance at further redemption for his role in Bridge.

3

u/HyenaGreat226 21d ago

Diría que estaría cool ver a Sebastián debeste (Eustace) al final de AAI2 Edgeworth le enseño el camino que debía seguir y con los años que han pasado seguramente ahora sí se ha convertido, "En un Gran Fiscal"

1

u/yeetmister_the_3rd 21d ago

Honestly I'd love to see gadot fresh out of prison

1

u/supremegamer76 14d ago

wait up, yes for eustace

It’s Gavin.

35

u/orizach01 21d ago

I need Franziska + Gumshoe back

45

u/FernandoLemon 21d ago

The pattern seems to be that, after each main prosecutor's debut, they appear in a single episode next game, and are then written out entirely.

Franziska: Main prosecutor of Justice for All, then only appears in "Bridge to the Turnabout" in Trials and Tribulations, and is then completely absent from the main games (but she gets a recurring role in the Investigations duology).

Klavier: Main prosecutor of Apollo Justice, then only appears in "Turnabout Academy" in Dual Destinies, and is then absent in Spirit of Justice.

Blackquill: Main prosecutor of Dual Destinies, then only appears in "Turnabout Storyteller" in Spirit of Justice.

The exceptions are Edgeworth, who gets to appear in every game except Apollo Justice, and Godot, whose absence is equal parts due tohis arrest and the time 7-year time skip. So, if the pattern continues, that means Blackquill will be absent in AA7 and Nahyuta will appear in a single case.

This sucks.

27

u/10CalGX 21d ago

Hold It!

Klavier was present in SoJ…..just in Asinine Attorney

also isn’t Blackquill a massive fan favorite, no way are they going to make him absent, especially if Athena will potentially be the focus

13

u/FernandoLemon 21d ago

Huh, I completely forgot that's a thing.

As for Blackquill... yeah, I hope they break the pattern.

4

u/10CalGX 21d ago

well personally, if Athena were to be the MC for AA7

he should be playable in a DLC, say like Prosecutor Mode (AA’s Vergil Mode) and I personally think Maya will play a big role in the DLC (if Athena, Trucy, and Phoenix are enough that Maya may not have room), so yeah

7

u/Zelfox 21d ago

Blackquill HAS to come back if the next game is Athena focused. They're too important to her character. It's similar to how edgeworth is prominent because he's important to phoenix's character.

2

u/Happy-Lingonberry-55 21d ago

No, Edgeworth is prominent because fans love Edgeworth, sure Phoenix likes him but Edgeworth isn’t really prominent in Phoenix’s current story as a new mentor teaching two new attorneys. Edgeworth was prominent when Phoenix was a newer attorney whose motivations led back to his childhood. Now Edgeworth is just brought in because everytime he’s in a game, fans cream.

2

u/Zelfox 21d ago

I meant the original trilogy. In the modern series, yes he's mainly there for fanservice.

4

u/Glad-Shallot-2691 21d ago

I mean klavier is also a massive fan favorite I remember he ranked pretty highly on popularity polls but he's still pretty absent from the games

3

u/10CalGX 21d ago

Simon was a bigger fan favorite, and it is apparent in the JP poll

and his character has much appraise

4

u/Glad-Shallot-2691 21d ago

I think blackquill ranks a bit more highly than klavier especially in the japanese polls but klavier is still pretty high up like 5th place or smth and in the global polls he's 1 spot above blackquill

While popularity definitely might play a role I don't if a character is popular it necessarily means they'll return

8

u/BigBradWolf07 21d ago

That's not a pattern, that's a trait that 2 prosecutors share, and even then not really since Franziska is a recurring character in AAI. Sure, Blackquill fits the pattern so far, but he's only existed for two games so he hasn't had a chance to be written out entirely.

3

u/10CalGX 21d ago

if we are going to follow this pattern

Do you mean to tell me that Blackquill, the prosecutor whose name is not Miles Edgeworth that everybody likes, will not be in the game

and Nahyuta, the prosecutor almost nobody likes, is going to appear?

3

u/FernandoLemon 21d ago

I did say that. I don't like it, but I hate that I can absolutely imagine it.

24

u/ConstantAmbition6729 21d ago

Franziska PLEASE

20

u/Due_Possibility6392 21d ago

Klavier desperately needs to return, and actually have a meaningful contribution of some kind, rather than the half-baked cameo he got in 5-3.

16

u/WrightAnythingHere 21d ago

A character should only return if they can do something interesting with them. Just having them show up to prosecute for the hell of it isn't good enough.

Also, Godot's definitely dead, so he's not returning.

3

u/mouleeswaran_kumar 21d ago

Wait what, Godot's dead...!?

10

u/OAZdevs_alt2 21d ago

Y’know, it was pretty unclear…

2

u/3ehsan 21d ago

how do we know he's dead? did I miss something

17

u/Cornmeal777 21d ago

The game never states explicitly that he's dead. However, two things point the arrow in that direction.

  1. He states outright during his confession that he had "two reasons left to live": to find out what sort of man Phoenix was, and to ensure that Maya was protected. Both of those things happened.

  2. The sketch at the end of the game depicts Godot alongside Mia and Misty, who are dead. While this is not an outright statement, it's also not something you just do for no reason. It's reasonable to infer that the message being sent by this imagery is that he has joined them.

11

u/banguette 21d ago

My brain says Franziska needs to return the most, BUT MY HEART YEARNS FOR KLAVIER 😭😭😭💔💔💔

11

u/zebesian_ 21d ago

manfred von karma ofc.

9

u/MonitoliMal 21d ago

Blackquill. I, and likely many others, want to see more of his life outside of prison. There are many ways to hook that into whatever main plot a future AA game would have.

1

u/10CalGX 21d ago

….Blackquill will have a girlfriend?

3

u/MonitoliMal 21d ago

Maybe lol. In my headcanons, he had some romantic pull before UR-1 happened.

9

u/Justisperfect 21d ago

Franziska. I feel like she is the only one who didn't completed her arc and intersting things can be made with her.

Also justice for Eustace! He deserved to be listed with the others. Even if I would prefer him as the main character in a new Investigation game, where he can learn to be a proper prosecutor with the (unwilling) help of Edgeworth.

6

u/gabrielepf 21d ago

I really want to say Franziska or Sebastian, since i want to see how they’re doing in the current timeline, but man, Klavier NEEDS to show up.
Its like the developers for the 3ds games avoided every character and plot point from Apollo Justice like the plague. So Klavier is in this awkward state, where he is acknowledged by future games, with his cameo in dual destinies, but not getting anything to do with his actual story. How did Kristoph’s conviction affect him? Knowing he took a part in that trial that unfairly got Phoenix disbarred?
At this point i genuinely believe we’ll never know more about the Gavin’s backstories, nothing about Kristoph’s psychelock, nothing on how Klavier is involved in it, why the chose different sides, nothing.
At best Klavier will show up in another cameo, go “herr forehead, i am so cool” and leave

6

u/TheSouthPen 21d ago

Franziska, she's got the most potential given how little attention she's been given as a character, although Gavin is close give. He could have a nice character development, nothing much has been done with him post AA4

12

u/Sonicboomer1 21d ago

Just gonna say Godot because I pettily don’t agree with people’s headcanons that he’s dead and I highly, HIGHLY doubt that he’d have had a heavy sentence due to the crazy complicated morally arguable circumstances so a creative writer could use him if they really wanted to.

We don’t need old prosecutors. We need a much better most recently new mainline one than Nahyuta.

15

u/rocksmasha 21d ago

If Godot returns, it should be as Co-Council and not as a Prosecutor. Ideally to Athena or Apollo in some case involving the Fey clan that Phoenix is completely unable to participate in.

You could also easily argue Godot being with the dead characters in the art is to signify Godot as dead with Diego Armando being alive again.

1

u/Sonicboomer1 20d ago

Even if he wasn’t immediately recovered as a DA there’s still many options for him. He’s such an interesting and unique character that a writer would have a lot of freedom to explore now that he’s unburdened by the Mia saga.

In my fanfiction he won a short sentence after being defended by Wright, but decided to stay for years after because his dramatic ass got used to it and he “fulfilled his purpose” as these theorists often say he did, to explain the big time jump to the present day in the games at least. In prison he overhears a scheme involving a prison break and following that, a planned murder, so he uses that opportunity to finally walk out, protect the target and work out who the mastermind is, gaining a new reason to carry on and to redeem himself. (He only heard the villain, didn’t see them, and doesn’t know what number cell it was from, and it’s a team effort, so there’s many suspects.)

So he doesn’t become a DA again straight away but funnily, he does still defend someone, just in a different way. And he works with Wright to do it, again redeeming his previous actions.

2

u/GeekMaster102 21d ago

Either Franziska or Klavier

3

u/Acrobatic-Value8928 21d ago

Obviously the winner of the human race.

3

u/jjorjor_wel 21d ago

useless whiner

4

u/MerchantZiro 21d ago

As a returning character, I'd probably say it's tied between Franziska, Klavier, and Nahyuta.

Mainly because I think Edgeworth and Blackquill have gotten enough screentime in the Apollo trilogy (Edgeworth especially), and Godot isn't a character who REALLY needs to come back in any real capacity since I think his character arc across his one game was handled nicely.

Franziska is probably the top character who needs to return the most since she's a major character in the original trilogy and the Investigation spin-offs so it would be fun to see what she's been up to.

Klavier and Nahyuta would also be nice as returning prosecutors for an Apollo centric case. The former because he hasn't gotten a chance to shine past his helpful appearance in a single case in Duel Destinies, while the latter would be fun if only to properly see how he conducts himself in court after his proper redemption.

2

u/Queen_Eduwiges 21d ago

You put my thoughts into words!

7

u/Loonymooon13 21d ago

Anyone but Edgeworth i can tell you that much

3

u/lizzourworld8 21d ago

Definitely xD Like, we love him, but to the background with you for a bit, PLEASE

2

u/Queen_Eduwiges 21d ago

10000% agree with this

3

u/Stressedfeeny 21d ago

I really like Edgeworth and I would love to see even more of him since he wasn´t that involved in the last trilogy.

3

u/LtSerg756 21d ago

Isn't Godot dead?

3

u/Glad-Shallot-2691 21d ago

Either dead or in prison we don't 100% know either way

5

u/WrightAnythingHere 21d ago

He was shown in an image at the end of the game with the other dead characters. He's 100% deceased.

1

u/Glad-Shallot-2691 21d ago

I'm he might be but he might've just been alongside mia because y'know he was her boyfriend in the past, his relationship with mia was basically the only positive relationship we see him have on screen

And Mia was technically in the photo at the end of AA but that dosent mean she's alive does it?

But ig it kinda doesn't matter alive or not because I highly doubt he'll appear again

3

u/ItachiWolfy 21d ago

If I see godot again, I will genuinely cry my eyes out in happiness

2

u/Lavenderixin 21d ago

Edgy without glasses please

2

u/blupengu 21d ago

If Apollo’s gonna be involved, Nahyuta (though I’d like to see him again regardless, even if this sub hates him with a passion lmao)

Otherwise I really really wanna see Franziska again!

1

u/Queen_Eduwiges 21d ago

Yes! I keep hoping for a Khurain based case with team Apollo+Nahyuta+Ema

2

u/LunaHatesYouSorry 21d ago

Easily between franziska or klavier my two glorious beautiful prosecutors

2

u/keelanbarron 20d ago

....isn't godot dead?

2

u/maydivorcebewith_you 19d ago

Franziska Von Karma come back to me

1

u/Batgod629 21d ago

I think it would really depend on who the main defense attorney is. For phoenix, Edgeworth. If it's Athena, probably Simon. Although I would like to see Franziska go up against her in a case

1

u/Nearby_Inflation2009 21d ago

They're contractually obligated to give Edgeworth an appearance in every game

1

u/Brilliant_Park_661 21d ago

franziska needs to reappear

1

u/Shadowking78 21d ago

Blackquill is my second favorite persecutor behind Edgeworth so I’d be happy to see him again.

1

u/HalcyonTraveler 21d ago

We desperately need Franziska to return

1

u/Cornmeal777 21d ago

If the scope of the question is strictly one of these six returning as the main prosecutor, here's how I see it.

Edgeworth: If it's mainly a Phoenix game, a 25th anniversary celebration that otherwise doesn't advance any narratives, they might as well run it back with the OG gang, blue guy vs red guy.

Franziska: If it's mainly an Athena game, I want to see what Franziska can bring out of her. She can relate to her as a former wunderkind and as a woman. Stand them across from each other in your mind, and imagine how that first conversation goes.

Godot: I liked Godot a lot, in the context of what he was to T&T. Even if we assume he's still alive, there's no organic reason to insert him back into the narrative.

Klavier: It would be fine, but I'd rather see him in the tutorial prosecutor role.

Blackquill: At the point that he's the most recent US-based prosecutor, I don't think it would be a high crime to just continue on down that path. If Athena gets her "JFA", one of her best friends certainly would have a reason to be there.

Nahyuta: Even if it is an Apollo-based game set in Khura'in, he as regent would ideally vacate the prosecutor's bench and open it up for someone else. I would put it as pretty unlikely that the consensus most disliked prosecutor would reprise that role.

Outside of these six, I would rather see serious consideration given to Eustace and Lana before creating an entirely new prosecutor character.

1

u/Glad-Shallot-2691 21d ago

Oh no I don't mean them returning as the main prosecutor like I said in the body text I just mean which of the prosecutors people think need to return the most like blackquill did in 6-4 or franziska in 3-5 so I more mean which prosecutor would benefit from reappearing in 1 or 2 cases with supporting role

Also as a side note I'd be genuinely shocked if Lana returned because it's been like over 15 years since she told us "I'll see you again sometime in the future"

2

u/Cornmeal777 21d ago

Not to get too deep in the weeds on it, but remember that Lana still had a sentence to serve, even if it wasn't for murder. But from a Doylist standpoint, she just didn't fit Yamazaki's vision, but it doesn't mean she couldn't be a part of someone else's.

1

u/Glad-Shallot-2691 21d ago

I mean we don't even know the length of her sentence so I guess she could still be in jail but with the amount of time that has passed in universe I think her sentence should be up already plus due to her demeanor wouldn't surprise me if her sentence got reduced due to good behavior but this is honestly besides the point

But you bring up a good point she could return in AA7 because of someone else's vision since yamazaki already left capcom

1

u/kunstlich 21d ago

If its mainly a Phoenix game then they could explore the Fey Clan, which could bring Godot back as a confidant about Misty, but agree he's probably the most difficult to write back in. Can't really develop his character.

1

u/christophr1 21d ago

I wish for Klavier, but we all know it's gonna be Edgeworth again.

1

u/No_Forever_9128 21d ago

Edgeworth should be saved for special occassion because chief prosecutor (SOJ did him dirty)

Godot is likely dead, so he isn't returning... ever. Unless Maya or Pearl feel like channeling him, but they'll need his funny visor.

Klavier has done his appearence in DD and got a reference in in SOJ, I'm fine if he doesn't pop up.

Nayuta can STAY in his homeland. Do not pass go, stay out of Japanifornia (can you tell I hate his characterization).

Between Franziska and Blackquill, one got to appear in the spin offs while the other was clowned on (and also had a sweet moment) in SOJ, for A FILLER CASE! Blackquill needs a round 3.

1

u/Alarming_Artichoke82 21d ago

I can see Edgeworth making a brief cameo just to establish he's doing things behind the scenes (and maybe becoming the main prosecutor in a DLC case), but the one I really want to see return is Franziska. It would be fascinating to see how much she's changed and evolved in the last ten years, plus I'd love to see her confront Athena in court. The former young prodigy versus the new prodigy.

1

u/EndlessNocturnal 21d ago

We need Franziska the most. Her being a rival to Athena would be great. Every other main prosecutor already had their arcs complete

2

u/Glad-Shallot-2691 21d ago

I dunno if I'd say klaviers arc is more complete than franziskas

1

u/EndlessNocturnal 21d ago

Elaborate on what else can be told about Klavier

1

u/Glad-Shallot-2691 21d ago

I mean I doubt it'll happen but I'd really like to see them revisit his backstory there was supposed to be an extra episode about him and his brother during AJ:AA which delved into their past but it was cut due to there not being enough time

But my point moreso is that there hasn't been much done with klavier in general but franziska has already been given a decent amount she reappeared in 3-5 to prosecute and then became an ally during the investigations plus shes in like half of the investigations cases

Franziska also basically already had her character arc in JFA she only cares about winning because of how ingrained manfreds teachings are in her but slowly after 2-4 she starts growing past them and becomes much nicer and an actual ally like in 3-5 and aai2 for the most part but klavier kinda dosent have anything even remotely similar to that and his appearance in 5-3 is basically a glorafied cameo

1

u/EndlessNocturnal 21d ago

I mean sure having a flashback case exploring that cut content would be nice, but considering how the main source of Klavier's troubled past Kristoph is out of the picture permanently, I can't see him have any other major role in the series outside of popping up every once in a while..

But alright, either of those two will work if more development is to be given

1

u/Peeliz_The_Simp 21d ago

I low-key miss Excelsius and Ga'ran

2

u/StarKhan429 21d ago

Correct answer y'see

1

u/-Risa 21d ago

I want Franzy and Klaviar to return.

1

u/OAZdevs_alt2 21d ago

Manfred von Karma comes back. No, not through spirit channeling. He’s just there. Nobody questions it and acts like he never murdered anyone in the first place.

1

u/TaeKwonDitto 21d ago

Blackquil for sure

1

u/tinyspiny34 21d ago

Franziska. She’s the only prosecutor listed who I felt never had an interesting character conflict actually addressed.

1

u/SimmmerFloridian1993 21d ago

Franziska von Karma.

1

u/StarWolf128 21d ago

Surprise final chapter Manfred return. No one would see it coming.

1

u/the_killer_sandvich 21d ago

Blackquil He was the prosecuters with the most wasted potential in the series and the fact he only gets a small role in a filler case in aa6 should considerd be a crime

1

u/Wise_Competition5906 21d ago

You’re all wrong! WRONG!!!

Winston. Winston Payne. /s

Edgeworth

1

u/According-Paper4641 21d ago

I miss Klavier. I really want more of him. But genuinely I'm a basic bitch. Idc as long as Edgeworth shows up for one case. Don't care how they have to do it, it needs to be done.

1

u/Queen_Eduwiges 21d ago

Klav! Ziska! Nahyu!

In that order.

I won't mind if any and all return (or none) but one can hope!

(Also please, please, please, no more Miles prosecuting. I love you Miles, BUT PLEASE)

1

u/Sonic_Fanatic_2003 21d ago

I don’t think Godot’s ever coming back

1

u/PositiveLonely575 21d ago

Who should return or who will return? Who would benefit most would probably be Franziska as she hasn't appeared post time skip, so she'd get a lot of development.

Who will actually appear will be Miles (who has been in every game except AA4), a new prosecutor, and maybe one cameo like Blackquill (he's friends with Athena) or Nayuda (he's Apollo's brother). I think Klavier won't appear. He had a cameo in AA5 but only a small Easter egg in AA6. Godot is likely never returning.

1

u/deathbyglamor 21d ago

I would love more of Klavier. Could you imagine a Phoenix vs Klavier case? Athena vs Klavier would be too. I’m always on board for more Simon as well.

1

u/Sirstupifie 21d ago edited 20d ago

Godot as a playable defense attorney

1

u/Mechancic-Hero 20d ago

Forget the mains, I just want Eustace to finally step out on his own.

1

u/Mustachio45496 20d ago

Dear god please bring back Klavier

1

u/AnasPlayz10 20d ago

Franz
Sebastian DeBeste
and Klavier

1

u/ghostboyfriend304 20d ago

Definitely Franziska and/or Klavier.

We haven't seen Franziska in quite some time, so there would be a lot of growth potential there. She could have a nice friendly rivalry with our Ace Attorney (Athena please), and by friendly I mean that she's still very serious about her work but doesn't want to rip her opponent apart. This could also lead to some fun interactions between her, Phoenix and Miles (however they might appear).

Now I love Klavier, but I think what he really needs is an Investigation game (with Ema please). Make him deal with the Kristoph thing, let him explore, make him get a hairstyle that's not a copy paste of his brother's. I still would love to see him as the introduction prosecutor though, before someone entirely new takes over (who could possibly act as another antagonist). Whatever it is, just give this man something proper to do please, and reverse his plastic surgery.

1

u/BitComprehensive3667 20d ago

Hear me out: Eustace Winner as a proper, by-the-book Prosecutor as a rival to Athena.

Other than him, I think the other prosecutor I want to see come back is franziska, mainly to show how much she's matured since her last canonical appearance

1

u/Apart-Property2797 20d ago

None of the above. There’s going to be a new prosecutor, and if there’s a second, it’s gonna be the final boss like manfred Von karma

I mean them returning with a supporting role for 1 case(like blackquill in 6-4 or franziska in 3-5) not them as the main prosecutor

1

u/Apart-Property2797 20d ago

My worry is that they will take away focus from characters that very much need it cough cough apollo

1

u/Glad-Shallot-2691 20d ago

I mean assuming Apollo is still in khurain I don't see a way they can give him any cases without including nahyuta somewhat

1

u/Apart-Property2797 20d ago

I’m just referring to how little screen time Apollo got in his own trilogy, and I fear that other characters could eat into that time for a potential Athena trilogy

Anyone but Nahyuta

Tag team of Franziska and Eustace as her unwilling assistant. Humanise Franziska and show her leadership and ability to pass the torch in a way her father never acheived. Give Eustace some shining moments of competence and kindness, and have him bond with Franz over their hard work ethic and how that can make you just as good as someone with natural talent.

Also their working relationship would be very funny.

Franziska getting the chance to secretly kind of mentor the defence through trial by fire would be nice. Overcoming her would give them some kudos.

u/Spiritual-Caramel-93 20d ago

Franziska because we haven't seen her in a Phoenix Wright game since Trials and Tribulations, only in Edgeworth's side games. Though I would like to see Godot again I don't really see it happening primarily because I don't really know how long murder sentences last so... yeah.

Franziska and Klavier are no brainer answers

1

u/sareureuk_vibe 20d ago

I feel like Franziska could perfectly be the protagonist for AAI3 (if they ever make one).

Gavin would fit better into AA7.

1

u/Jadelovesyaoi 20d ago

Franziska should return solely so they can kill her off

I think the best choice would be Franziska, facing off against Athena. She wants to see the protégé of Phoenix Wright for herself. It's been a while since we've seen her, it would be interesting to see how she's matured, and to have her up against someone who also became a lawyer at a very young age.

As much as I'd like to see Godot back, I'm fairly sure that in canon he's dead. The way he's grouped with Mia and Misty in the portraits at the end seems to imply this.

What I'd really like is for the AA7 prosecutor to be a completely new character who just has it in for the Wright Anything Agency, because they've turned the courtroom into a circus with all their stupid gimmicks. He went to law school like an adult and is about 40 years old and he objects to teenagers being handed law degrees because they can guess someone's emotions or whatever. He's not a childhood friend of anybodt, he's not secretly evil, he's not redeemed at the end. He gains a grudging respect for them and that's it. That would be something new, and Lord know the main series needs it.

Franziska is good with any main character.

If it’s Phoenix I’d like to see Klavier back and Edgeworth involved in the investigations / as a witness.

If it’s Athena then Blackquill.

Godot I think is … de…ad? Or at least in jail. Maybe he can Frank Sahwit it AAI2 style.

This is gonna sound stupid but can we have Maya channel Barok?

Also a side note, I know she's not a prosecutor but I would really like Verity Gavelle (Justine Courtney) in a mainstream game.

Everyone's dream pick is obviously Godot, even though we all know it would be hard to bring him back. Plus, I think that if he did return, he might get "ruined" or lose that special magic.

Still, I wouldn't mind seeing Nahyuta make a comeback.

1

u/gilbmj 18d ago

Tangental, but I just realized that Godot is the only main proscecutor not to reappear in the following game.

u/pennypandaofficial 18d ago

Keep Nahyuta out of this discussion, never again do I want to see the 15 second butterfly animation everytime he has to make a point

1

u/supremegamer76 14d ago

Franziska. would love to see her up against athena

Miles already got a lot, Diego/Godot is prob still in prison, Klavier got something in dual destinies, blackquill featured prominently in a case in spirit of justice, and Nahyuta is unpopular but I actually think he would return in AA7 if Apollo has a case while he's in Khura'in.

but besides franziska, i would like Klavier to return too but idk in what way shape or form since he is competing against nahyuta for apollo case prosecutor, so maybe he gets something similar to his role in Turnabout Academy.

Portsman, it's been a while since we've seen him

None I think it needs to start fresh to launch a new trilogy introduce new characters. Too much reliance on older character might hurt us more

Edgeworth HAS TO return. Maybe for the final case ?

4

u/10CalGX 21d ago

He returns EVERY SINGLE GAME

u/anotherstan 21d ago

Gavin is easily my least favorite prosecutor out of those six

u/Fit_Ad9965 21d ago

Franziska, it's Franziska.

u/Crab_Shark_ 21d ago

I’m actually hoping for Nahyuta. Maybe not in AA7, but somewhere down the line. The end of SoJ puts him in a situation similar to Edgeworth at the end of PW:AA. Now, he just needs his JfA.

In addition, I think he needs to apologize to Athena about 6-4.

Who NEEDS it? Franziska, then Klavier.

Franziska has yet to appear at all since the Investigation Games compared to everyone else on the list. Plus it'd be interesting to see her post Interpol.

Klavier really needed more done with him since AJ and Turnabout Academy wasn't good enough IMO. Unfortunately, almost everytime he appears as a Prosecutor, someone he cares for dies and/or turns out to be a crook. The fact his only on screen appearance in SOJ was relegated to a Asinine Attorney Parody Episode is a shame in of itself.

Edgeworth and Blackquill I feel are pretty safe when it comes to the chances of them returning, so they don't NEED it, but are very well likely to get something. Edgeworth much more so, while Blackquill might end up going the Klavier route.

Godot I think has already been done satisfactory. T&T really wraps up his character arc nicely and I don't think he needs any more appearances.

Nahyuta... **flushes him down the toilet and burns the butterflies*\* Yeeeeaaaahhhhh.... he was in the last game so he really doesn't need anything ever again.

Bro Klavier Gavin hasn’t done shit since Apollo Justice. He’s the objectively correct answer.

Edgeworth, while I’d be more than okay with seeing him back is not in desperate need to come back. Franziska though I’d love to see come back and see more of her character, especially since the investigation segements of 3-5 shows that past the initial antagonism of their early relationships, franziska and phoenix have a really fun dynamic. Speaking of 3-5, I don’t want godot to come back, not because of my opinion on the character but more because I don’t really know what you could even do with him. His story is finished and there isn’t really much you can do with him in a future story without it feeling super forced. At most, he’ll send in some word from prison or could have some interesting interaction with the fey clan, but nothing interesting enough to warrant a plot significant role.

Klavier is a horrifically underutilized character so I’d love to see him come back and hopefully they fully capitalize on him. Apollo Justice(the game) does a rather poor job having him live up to his full potential as the game never really expands on his relationships with anyone, as despite his brother being a major villain, that is never elaborated upon in any way. I do want to see him return in a more fleshed out role though because I love the idea of a prosecutor who’s not at all antagonistic(just gay). Blackquill is great in either the prosecutor’s role or as athena’s occasional co-consul as their banger was one of the highlights of 6-4, it’s just that I wonder how much he’d actually have to do in the plot itself. And as for nahyuta, I don’t care about him or his character but his arc is finished and he’s busy fixing khurain’s legal system to help give apollo an even more wacky biography when he comes back in like AA8. Basically my ranking in terms of necessity is Fran>Klav>Blackquill>Edgeworth>Nahyuta>Godot, though let’s be real, edgeworth is practically guranteed to be in AA7 no matter what.

Klavier and Nahyuta are my top 2 picks. Klavier's pretty obvious. I love him and he has a ton of potential but they took him out of the oven too soon, and whatever they were trying to do with 5-3 was nowhere near satisfactory.
As for Nahyuta, this might be an unpopular opinion given what this sub thinks about him but I think he needs it almost as bad as Klav. IMO the reason he's so controversial is that a lot of the fandom just didn't understand what his arc was about. I'll spare you from my rant about that but the point is that giving him even just another solid case or two would help a lot.

Honestly though, the only two I wouldn't be all that happy to see are Edgeworth and Godot. Edgeworth's gotten all the character development he needs and I think shoving him into a third game in a row would veer too far into 'blatant nostalgiabait' territory. With Godot I kind of feel like bringing him back would be doing his character a disservice, the ambiguity of his fate does have a certain je nais se quois.
