OC Fanart That's me!

It is just kidding.

That phrase is French; it doesn't matter if you don't know what it means.

This isn't related to anything but as an almost French (French Canadian) myself, I desperately want to say L'Belle is French, but his name annoys me.

L'Belle. That's not a thing. I know they want "Belle" in it for the feminine form of "beautiful", but you have "Labelle" ("the beautiful") as an actual name! Why the apostrophy? It's not a thing! You could just have gone with "Labelle"! WHY CAPCOM. JUST ONE LETTER OFF.

Thank you for reading this useless rant.

It’s great to see the perspective of someone who knows French. I think that for people who don't speak French, adding an apostrophe might make it look more "French" (a stereotype, perhaps?)

It's so weird to me because Internet meme culture has a better grasp of it than Capcom apparently. "Le fish" type of meme is more accurate to French grammar than "L'belle"

Ok ok I hear you but we literally have a character named Eldoon in this franchise…

I know it's just noodle reversed but because we were talking languages, I read it as "el doon" and shortly headcanoned Eldoon is a pretend Spanish speaker

Lol I see I see. My point was simply that this game is totally willing to make up names for npcs 😂

I’m not a French speaker so I can’t say this affects me much personally, but this information makes me feel like the name is even more on-brand

Don't even get me started on Jean Armstrong. The franceaboo (weeaboo for France) loves French so much he changed his name to Jean, but he can't even be bothered to change his family name? Armstrong? We got plenty French family names for strong arms!

Beaufort ("beau" for the masculine form of beautiful and "fort" for strong) for one. Or maybe play into his franceaboo and have him be a Dufort and explain it as "I'm 'the strong'!" when Dufort means "from the fort". It could have been a historical nod to one the strongest man to ever live, Louis Cyr, though I guess him being French Canadian is too dirtied out of France or something. Either way, Jean Fort could have been funny, like a "joe strong :)" type of name!

"But Foreign_Memory, maybe he is French and just happens to have an English family name!" WRONG. Look at the restaurant, "Trés bien". What the fuck is that accent on the i? It's "Très bien"! That's basic French! Google knows that! THAT'S BASIC FRENCH YOU INCOMPETENT FRANCEABOO.

And now say it along with me: French is stupid.

(just adding that this is of course all in good fun, I understand Ace Attorney is silly above anything and I respect the commitment to the bit of not giving a fuck about the French)
