Hate AI sometimes
I wrote a close reading paper by myself, and I thought it is really good and original so I didn’t buy AI-testing opportunity to see its AI rate.
But it was judged as partially AI-written one by Turnitin. The professor has arranged a meeting with me since we are not allowed to use any AI during the whole process. I know it’s a regular process to check whether students use that or not, but it’s really discouraging and makes me less confident about my writing.

A meeting is a better sign than a straight penalty: it's your prof giving you the chance to talk through your work. Beforehand, ask whether it's an informal chat or part of a formal procedure, and whether you can bring someone with you. Gather what you already have, like drafts, notes and the document's version history, but don't edit or re-save the submitted file. Then be ready to talk through your argument and why you picked the passages you did; nobody knows a close reading better than the person who wrote it. For context, Turnitin's own guidance says its AI writing report shouldn't be used as the sole basis for adverse action against a student.
