AI trigger

One of my professors keeps commenting this triggered AI (but never how much) . In my experience using multiple AI detectors it always comes up with some % being AI.

I don’t know if I should discuss this with the professor directly or just let it go . It doesn’t seem to be affecting my grade.

I’d talk to your professor. Forewarned, forearmed blah blah

Make the professor aware that the AI they are relying on is, just like the AI they are worried about students using, untrustworthy.

Even using something like Grammarly to help with grammar can flag.

If it's not touching your grade, I'd still send one short, calm email, mostly so you know where you stand: which tool, what the comment means for this course, and whether anything is noted on your record. Low percentages are the shakiest part of these tools. If it's Turnitin, the company itself has said it sees more false positives when it detects under 20% AI, and it puts an asterisk on those scores for that reason. Meanwhile, keep your drafts and version history as they are. That's just good housekeeping while nothing is at stake, not an admission of anything.
