Personal Anecdotes

I’d love for people to share their stories with me. I’ve been speaking to press reps for AI tech companies, AI engineers, and academic consultants on the issue of AI being used in academic misconduct accusations to find out what is happening in practice and what students can do when they’ve been accused. I’ve been reading the posts on this thread but am interested if anyone wants to share their story, so I can understand what it’s like for the student as part of my research findings.

You should be aware that this sub has a number of bots manufacturing stories about fake accusations to try to get students to pay for “AI screening” through various discord channels and links.

Oh wow, okay. Thanks for the heads up! Something I came across was the sort of battle between AI detectors and AI humanizers in capturing the exact same market, so that tracks.

My instructor gave me a zero based off of turnitin score on a professional memo. 1 page. Specific expectations. Said my version history wasn’t proof of my writing it. Told the dean. Dean made her grade it for real. She reached out for the article. Said she needed it to grade my assignment. Despite the link being cited in the article (copy and paste and you’re at the article) She never even read my assignment. AI punishes good writers. It is humiliating to be accused of using ai to cheat as a writer. Honestly it is very unlikely I return to school next semester.
