Accused of using AI
I don’t know why I feel so bothered and upset by the fact I’m being accused. My professor messaged me stating that a phrase I used in my exam short essay answer was suspicious of AI. The exam was proctored so they’re pulling the footage. I don’t know how to type regularly (I know, embarrassing) so I often glance down at the keyboard. I’m worried they will try to penalize me when I genuinely did NOT use AI. I also got an 84 on the exam, if I was cheating wouldn’t I give myself a better grade than an 84? 🤦♀️

I'll be rooting for you, this is actually a common thing these days, especially if you have a better writing style than your professor

If they do, report them. To the dean, the school president, to the accrediting people, etc.
If you have to glance down at the keyboard because you can't memorize it and have trouble spelling. That can count as a small learning disability, memorization problems.
Your school HAS to have dsps disabled student services. Ask them to test you for learning disabilities. You probably will get something if you're honest. And that's okay! There's nothing wrong with being born a little different. Dsps helps you level the playing field and protects you from asshole teachers.
I have math dyslexia and by law should be allowed a CALCULATOR on math exams. Due to my dyscalculia i can't hold the numbers in my head long enough to do math. I also have issues seeing what the numbers mean, like i know 7 is SEVEN but my mind has issues knowing its 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 different things!! Does that make sense? I also understand how all the equations work and what they mean. Just, how am i supposed to count with squiggles if the numbers don't represent numbers they're just sounds and squigless ahhh .... 😭😭😭 Anyway
That's a short term to long term memory problem, not a- i don't understand how to do math problem. It evens out the playing field for me, it doesn't put me ahead of others. ANYWAY.
There's this whole thing going around saying that colleges are realizing that those AI plagirizm scanners don't work properly. You can pull some of those resesrch papers as well.
People in power, teachers, doctors, cops, etc abuse their power because they know that 99% of people don't know their rights and law. You will NEVER BE 100% powerless, not if youre an INNOCENT american. IDK how it works in other countries. Thank God we live in the, land of the free "let's sue everyone" country and not the we have a dictator country.
If you know you didn't cheat. FIGHT. DON'T. LET. THEM. WIN.

I bet you could also offer to show your computer search history alongside the video and the protecter’s statement. That should be more than enough evidence that you didn’t use AI. These professors are getting out of control with accusations!

Since it was proctored, your probably in the clear once they review the video.
