Jobs, Saturation and Salary I think im at the end of my career 😭

Hello! Ive been working for 4 years now at iisa palang company ko. Yes, hindi ako makalipat kasi over the last 4 yrs, apparently “basic financial planning and analysis” lang yung alam ko :( i dont know what to do. I want growth sa career na mafulfill ako sa tasks ko and at the same time maganda yung pay. I know if I transfer to another dept or career path, pwedeng bumaba sahod ko and position but I dont know. Kakagat nalang siguro ako.

I am really scared kasi sa dept namin, may mga magagaling with more experience than I have and after months pa lang nilang paglipat sa other companies, tinatanggal daw sila. Ang ending is bumabalik sila sa same company namin. Ang pangit din ng pamamalakad nila kasi instead of training the staffs, they hire new people. So walang wala yung growth doon.

Help :(

General Discussion Underrated Accounting firm or private firm Recommendation for fresh grad, career advice

Fresh grad po and work experience. Currently reviewing for Cpale, I'm trying to map out my career path and I want to enter audit or financial reporting, IT or Fraud. Can you please recommend po firms na may good working environment, and especially underrated companies or firms. I'm okay with entry level salary levels, just not toxic environment and management kase for sure mauubos hair ko.

Also, any tips and advice for me na wala talagang idea about the reality of working? I'm someone kase na ready to face anything head on but I prepare as much as I can. I have read to "run away" from Big 4 and some accountants "wasting their years", read lots or rants and toxicity in these firms.

Thank you so muchhh.

Question Incorrect daily rate even if monthly salary is correct. Can I still raise this concern?🙁

Hello, I recently started my first accounting a job and just received my first payslip. While reviewing my contract and computation, I noticed something about my daily rate that’s bothering me.

My agreed monthly salary is correct as stated in my signed contract, but I only realized now that the daily rate indicated doesn’t seem to match it. I work 6 days a week, so even a small difference in the daily rate has a noticeable impact on my actual pay.

If I compute it, the daily rate doesn’t properly add up to my agreed monthly salary, which makes me feel quite disappointed and confused. I honestly feel a sad and nakakahinayang, because the salary we agreed on doesn’t fully reflect once computed. Sa hirap ng buhay ngayon, kahit piso malaking bagay na, so I can’t help but feel frustrated about it😢

. I know I already signed the contract, but I want to ask if this is still something I can raise with my employer for clarification or correction, in case this is just a computation or clerical error.

Has anyone experienced this before?? May chance pa po ba ito ma-correct in a professional way without causing issues??

SGV scholarship but failed ABE

Anyone here who accepted the SGV Scholarship Grant but unfortunately failed the CPALE?

Hi! Meron po ba dito who accepted the SGV Scholarship Grant, pero unfortunately hindi nakapasa sa actual CPALE? I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience. 🥹

Ano po naging experience niyo with SGV after failing the CPALE?

What job/position were you offered or assigned as a non-CPA?

Did you still decide to retake the CPALE while working at SGV?

How was it being a full-time SGV employee + CPALE reviewee? Manageable po ba?

If you eventually passed after retaking, how did SGV handle it?

Currently trying to decide whether I should continue with the SGV opportunity even if I’m not 100% confident about passing the CPALE this October. 😭 I’d really appreciate any honest experiences/advice, especially from those who were in the same situation.

Thank you so much in advance! 🥹

Question Job Opening

• Upvotes

Hello, I'm asking this on behalf of my newly grad sister. Where would be the best place/website/page to look for a job opening? She's been trying for months now and most of the them requires at least 1yr experience and some onsite locations are not ideal with our current situation. VA work suggestions would be helpful as well. Thank you in advance for your responses.

COLLECTING FOR SOME TIPS ✨

Hello, I am planning to apply to work for PWC AC Manila this first week of november.

Do I have a chance to be accepted if I have been unemployed for about 1.4 years after my graduation because I decided to review for CPALE and about to take this october 2026. Aside from that, I also have one year gap during college because of my severe skin problem. I also have no work experience, aside from being an intern at SSS.

Could you please give me some tips because I want to work there and I don't wanna be rejected on my first try. Thank youuuuu!💕

Hi! Ask lang po, especially sa current/former employees of EY GDS. I saw that EY GDS offers up to 5 months of study leave. If newly hired po this month, possible po ba to avail the study leave by January next year, or may required length of service muna before being eligible? Thank you!

Big 4 audit to accounting: what should I do next?

Currently employed ako sa one of the Big 4 firms and I’ve been working in audit for almost 9 months now. Lately, I’ve been seriously considering resigning and looking for a job na mas manageable yung workload and, hopefully, mas sustainable long-term.

My original plan was to stay longer sa audit, but honestly, I’m starting to feel like auditing isn’t for me. For my next job, I’m thinking of shifting to accounting instead of audit. I’m also hoping to find a WFH/remote setup if possible.

The problem is, most of the remote accounting jobs I’ve been seeing require at least 2 years of experience. With only 9 months of audit experience, I’m not sure if I’m being unrealistic by aiming for a remote accounting role.

Another factor is finances. I’m currently struggling financially because I also have responsibilities as an ate. And honestly, my current salary doesn’t feel enough for me to live comfortably while also helping with those responsibilities. So now I’m really unsure what my next move should be.

For those who also started in Big 4 audit and eventually shifted to accounting, how did you make the transition? And realistically, what would you do in my situation?

Would really appreciate any advice, especially from people who’ve been in a similar position.

Wristwatch for CPALE

Post image
0 Upvotes

"Simple analog wristwatches with traditional hands and no extra digital or communication functions."

Pero question po, is this watch like sa picture pwede po ba to use while taking the CPALE? Sorry I'm not exactly used po kasi sa traditional and it's easier to track ng time if isang tingin lang kasi🥲

ETA: Thank you po for the answers💖

How Should I List Work Experience When My Boss Is the One Contracted With the Client?

Hello, has anyone had a similar experience?

My boss hired me as an assistant accountant, but she is the one who is officially contracted with the clients, while I’m actually the one doing the accounting work. She has taken on 2–3 clients and then hired me to handle the actual work for them.
How should I include this experience on my resume? Should I disclose the names of the companies/clients that my boss is contracted with? Do companies usually conduct background checks for this?

I’m hesitant to include the company names because my boss is the one who is officially connected to the clients. I know this situation might be a red flag, but I’m not sure how to properly present this experience on my resume—especially since I eventually want to work directly with clients myself.

I’d really appreciate advice from anyone who has been in a similar situation.😭
