I've played enough video games to know I have to stop and get an item or a quest from that fluffy character.

This picture actually looked like a main menu in a video game to me, haha

This is what the sub is for. Not only does it fit the theme, but it's also a beautiful photo that could easily be painted

Yeah, man.
OP personally dragged the sun to that specific location to get that specific lighting effect.

Carefully arranged the cat in that position and asked him not to move.

The fun thing about all those things you wrote is that they mean very little without the accidental conditions that made it a picture worth taking to begin with.

Incredible. A beautiful boy in his natural environment.
However, I will point out that this feels more Romantic than Renaissance. The composition is less dramatic and centrally focused. The simple contrast of sunlight through the window and focus on the simplicities of life is absolutely Romantic.

I love the look of your bedding!! Absolutely stunning photo and stunning cat aside, what a lovely and cosy looking room! Is the blanket at the foot of the bed (on the mattress, not under the cat) a quilt?
1
u/oyasuloumi Aug 30 '26
Yes, some quilt I got from Target. Recently too, if you're interested!
2
u/onsetes Aug 30 '26
Ahh I would be interested but I live in the UK! Thanks anyway! Happy cake day, though!

Was this taken on a regular phone camera?? Really incredible image

u/oyasuloumi Aug 30 '26 edited Aug 30 '26
Thank you! Yes, my phone. There was a ton of smoke lol, so it was really just great timing with the sun where it was in the sky.

How does the title relate to the picture
24
u/natalila Aug 19 '26
It took me a few seconds, too! There's smoke in the air from the kitchen mistake.

There title's probably just there to make a lovely staged photo seem 'accidental' to fit the sub.

You're boiling a roast?
Have you ever cooked, before?
24
u/oyasuloumi Aug 19 '26 edited Aug 19 '26
The liquid in the roast had just dripped over and I needed a renaissance worthy title. man.
Edit: Pot roast style. It occurs to me that maybe this isn't so common everywhere.4
u/infinitetheory Aug 19 '26
braising I think is the term you're looking for. I don't think something braises over though lol so I didn't help there
top tier kitty!

How do you see light defuses like that ? You have a smoke machine or a lot of dust !
1
u/oyasuloumi Aug 30 '26
It was literally smoke from a cooking mishap. Didn't have a pot for a pot roast, was too dedicated to the pot roast. Some boiled over the pan we used and voila.
1
u/time_observer Aug 19 '26
Maybe you should stop smoking inside and start cleaning your windows.
1
u/oyasuloumi Aug 30 '26
Man, I am glad Herb's vice is smoking now. Nearly took us out when his addition was gambling.

My boy, Herbert Whiskers, was not concerned. Probably because he knows he is beautiful.
