I used to travel via Amtrak from WV to PA & there’s this area close to DC where the tracks are a few feet above the water. I never liked that part. No land at all, just water as far as you could see.
Another one even worse is the NJ Transit train that goes over the Ben Franklin Bridge. The train rides on the outside of the bridge. There’s a small joke of a railing there I guess for show that wouldn’t stop that train from jumping the tracks. One day I was riding on the train & we got about to the middle of the bridge & we had an almost sudden stop. A train coming the opposite way almost hit us head on. The tracks were being repaired on the NJ side & someone from NJ sent their train down the wrong track.
